SD is a bit of an unnecessary expense for a LBA (even the court will use ordinary mail to post the summons off should it be necessary). And if the LBA works, there's no way you can get them to pay you any postage costs.
I suggested SD as you can be fairly certain that it will get there and be signed for. Jeppy said that the letters were not being signed for, so thats why I suggested it.....and I'm not bothered about the extra £3-£4 it costs

That's ok for folk like you who don't mind - my post was to point out it is an unnecessary extravagance - no criticism of you was intended.

If money is no object, you could help a charity and send them the £4 instead of spending it just to send a letter to the Defendant!

    Quentin,
does the LBA have to be delivered to the defendant?

Does anyone know if you can add phone call costs as part of a small claims bid against The Mobile Outlet? It cost me £13 to ring the customer services number last month, and still not got any answers to my questions.
Has anyone successfully won a claim against The Mobile Outlet? I will be putting a claim in once by letter of legal action letter timescale runs out next week.
    Thanks

I'm claiming for two contracts but they're printed on the same bill, therefore I need to request TMO return the bills so that I can start the process again for the second contract. I'm worried that they may purposely hold on to these bills to prevent me from claiming the second in the appropriate time frame, if I demand they return the bills within say 7 working days, will it hold up in court?

  • thanks to all for very interesting - but depressing reading! I am just starting, having not received first payment, on what would seem to be a very long road. I have just sent a LBA ( before reading thread) and will certainly continue to chase them. However, I did delay matters a short while, because having picked the contract through OneCompare, I asked them if they could assist - they can't !!

    Hi ahleung,
if you read all the thread (which I suggest you do!), you will find an example of a LBA a few pages before this one........

Thanks! It's just that the thread has become so large (Page 84 and counting... that it does take a little time to find all the details in the pages inbetween.

I think it would be helpful if the mods could put the LBA on the first post, so that everyone would know where to find it.
