I had a good look at that site before I approached our neighbour.....I think we could insist that he pays for it.....but it probably wouldn't be worth it if we were to damage neigbourly relations. I'd rather cough up and live happily.

Sorry for taking the thread off topic.:o

can I ask a silly question - sure I should have worked it out by now, but what does DH and DD mean??

Thought I'd figure it out after a while but I'm clearly slower on the uptake than I thought!

    Hi Spooky Pooky,

It's not a silly question....we were all new to MSE once.

    Dh...means dear/darling husband
    Dd....means dear/darling daughter

For more abbreviations look in Sra's Unofficial A-Z . If you look under Abreviations on MSE you should find the most commonly used ones.

    Afternoon Guys!

I truly feel awful:o....cant seem to keep anything down, so I have been given some anti-sickness tablets. OH bless him, made me some bubble and squeak as thats what I fancied and it was lovely....but:o :o:o....hopefully things will pick up soon:cool:

I have managed to complete about a third of my essay which I am pleased about, so that should all be done and dusted by the weekend. This is my last one for this particular section of my degree and will be soooooo pleased once its done as I loathe it!

Stuck a white wash on (60c) as DD was moaning that she had no clean white socks for school....told her to go and look properly but she came down with her moody cow ones on:eek:    ....this is so embarrasing, but I had to fish the cleanest pair I could from the wash bin:o I save all my whites up and do a hot wash every 10 days or so but for some reason I think its been nearly 2 weeks:confused: It was only about 75% full but I like the whites to have loads of room to really wash the socks and knicks etc to give them a good clean. OH wasnt happy about hanging millions of socks and knickers out though and a few bras:rotfl:

OH popped to Lidls as they have a few good offers on. They have packets of microwavable rice reuced to 39p a pack-they are so quick and simple for meals and salads. He picked up 20 packets:D ..as they were in date till July 2008 and dont have to be kept in the fridge. They also have their Maple Back/Streaky bacon too 99p which is lovely and good quality, Lamb chump chops (about 8) for £2.99 and full Scampi pieces for £1.99 (half price). I also love the American Lucky charm cereal. You can get it on import but most places want £6.50+ for 1 box:eek:    ...he picked up a version from Lidls for 99p...will report back in the morning:D

Right, OH has gone to do the second hand shop at the school and Im going to have a sleep.

    Hugs to all.

    Hi all

Not new to MSE but fairly new to this board, posted a few times but mainly been reading, been getting tons of inspiration from you expert OS'ers!

Thanks to you all I bought myself a SC a few weeks ago and have been experimenting with stews and currys and might give a joint of lamb a go at the weekend. You have no idea how much time this gadget saves me as both my dh and I work full time and we have 3 kids so not a lot of time was spent on good home cooking :o

I am quietly joining in on the grocery shopping challenge, although won't start properly till either next month or the month after as this penny watching is all very new to me and so I didn't really know how much money I spent on groceries, I'm sure it was twice what I should've  I joined up with ASDA's home delivery service (through quidco naturally ;) ) and did my first shop online on Friday, it was a bit daunting as I didn't have a meal plan in front of me which I will make sure I do next time. Although I am pleased to say that although I had 25 bags of shopping delivered :o there was not one luxury in there :T which is going to encourage me to keep shopping online, I'm terrible when it comes to the BOGOF offers especially chocs and crisps! Although they are a bargain, if I don't buy them at all then that's even better!

So thank's to all of you that post your ideas and tips on here cos I've learnt a lot already and hope to learn tons more. Trust me, there's miles of improvement to be made in my household!!

Oh and by the way, don't ask about my garden, I read all the posts about your lovely home grown veg...unfortunately mine is about 5ft high with brambles :o although I do get to make a seriously good blackberry crumble in the summer :p

    Speak to you all soon.

I'm posting this in here because I think this is where Hester hangs out!:D

I wanted to say a public thank you to Hester, she sent me a sewing pattern that I'd seen on ebay. Unfortunately she didn't enclose her address so I can't even refund her postage charge. :o

Thanks again Hester, you are a *star*. :T :T :T

Welcome to the boards Spooky Pooky  (great name btw!!:rotfl: ) And Jo1972 - you'll like it here.

I've built a bookcase, a bed, and a chest of draws, I've filled said bookcase, draws and made up bed complete with madams 3072 cuddly toys and cushions (ok slight exaggeration). I've filled 2 underbed storage boxes and got rid of 1 and a half black sacks of tatt....oh I also rigged up madams new stereo system.....which is now being played at full blast  Thought I'd have a 5 mins break with a cuppa before tackling the kitchen and making some dinner.

Hope all goes well with DH and his houseworking duties metherer.

    Good afternoon

Pink winged - are you allowed to cut back other people's connifers? Make sure they dont get you done for criminal damage! Seems a good pirce, but have you had other quotes to compare prices?

    breaking news
I have found the money! :j
I cant believe I totally forgot what I was wearing on Friday night. I thought I was wearing my jeans - hence why looking through my jeans pockets - to no avail. Just sorting out the washing, and thought - Id best check other pockets - only to find it in a pair of combats! I remember now I was wearing them! Gosh what an idiot! anyway, thanks to everyone's kind wishes and advise regarding this "blonde" situation! I feel so relieved now!

Right, best have a quick tidy up before school run!
    Catch you later
