  • Hi All,

Just started posting on some of the OS boards and hoped you wouldn't mind if I join in on the daily threads too? I'm quite chuffed as I took the afternoon off work yesterday to celebrate my little sister finishing her finals. I was expecting this to be a real blow to the entertainment budget for this month but had forgotten how brilliantly cheap student bars are! Even though I was pretty generous in buying drinks for my sister and bought us a sandwich at some point I came home with change from a tenner - I think this was helped by the bottle of pre-bought bucks fizz (£1.99 from Mr T and made me look generous - bargain!) which was downed the moment she walked out of her exam!

Back to work today though but at least the weather is nice so I've got a good view and I can dream of all my veggies growing bigger and stronger back home... just can't wait to start eating them!

Hope everyone is having a nice day? xx

Mr Pink offered to have a go, but perish the thought of him up a ladder with a chainsaw! I think it's best left to someone who has a clue what they're doing! :D

I've just bought Mr Penguin a brand new chainsaw ;) Shall I send him over when he's finished chopping wood in our garden   I thought of you when I asked DS if he wanted an *allotment* for his breakfast. I'm so engrossed in my garden - I meant an *omelette* :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Crazychick - I found that my washing line is right above where the children put the pool at the weekend, too  Taking the washing down is on their task list for when they get home. Wonder if they'll manage to keep it all dry

Churchmouse, as long as Mr CM is happy, I'd leave hime to his *shed* :D Hope he enjoys it.

Amie and JD - enjoy your meet. I've got another mini-meet coming up - it's lovely to see how much OSers are just like you imagine them to be

Csarina - I'm making elderflower cordial at the weekend. After all the clearing in our garden, I have saved enough elder for flowers.

    Welcome to Spooky Pooky!

Welcome Spooky Pooky - I'm fairly new on this board too, and the ladies (and men - where is Math?) have been very welcoming. You'll enjoy it here - a wee community and lots of motivation. I'm off back into the garden and I'm going to have a chat to my Lupins, they don't seem to be doing much! If I don't post tomorrow you know I have been carted off in a straight jacket:rotfl: Reminds one self to look out for neighbour before blethering to plants!

I think I may have hindered my neighbours attempts to seel their house when on more than one occasion people have been shown around the garden just to see the madwoman next door (that would be me) conversing with a) her cats (a little mad) and b) the wildlife in her pond (really quite mad - especially the day I found my first newt, went a little crazy and then turned round to see respectable, bespectacled clip-board carrying estate agents looking confused!)

    oh well... keeps us entertained!

Oh Penny, please send Mr penguin over here! In fact you come too! He and Mr Pink can compare the size of their chainsaws while we sit in the garden and drink some wine! :D

Well the man has just been and gone and he's agreed on £320 to take eight to ten feet off the trees and 'face' them....I know nothing about this kind of thing but it seems like a fair price to me to have more sunshine in the evening and more light for the plants. Besides, he seemed really nice and is trying to start his own business up. He's going to do it tomorrow.......I just hope he knows what he's doing and that I'm not a softie who's fallen for the sweet talk!

Spooky pooky, Welcome! I'm glad to see someone as excited by their garden as I am at the moment.........I have one ripe strawberry which had been promised to ds2 if he works hard in school today. It's killing me not to pick it and eat it in the meantime! :o

Pink-winged - Do you have to have your neighbours permission to do this as we have the same problem but was told that there is no legal right to light?
You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same

You have rights to reduce evergreen hedges that are greater than 2m in height. For more details take a Google at Hedgeline.

    Hi tinkerbell,

We spoke to him about the trees and got his permission.......he's happy enough for them to be cut back....he just doesn't want to help to pay for it! :(

I hope you manage to sort something out with your neighbour.
