maybe yours wasn't the flight into BHX.

Hi, we were on a Thomsons flight into Manchester. It was the comment about fog that caught my eye but didn't think we would be due anything as it's outside the airline's control. Wasn't sure if things were different if flight was cancelled. We were lucky we weren't held over as crew were nearly out of hours! Will pop over to the Thomson's board and see if anyone is posting. Thanks.

Although they claim fog, - which, if true, will be classed as an EC - it's worth checking to see what other aircraft were taking off and landing at the same time window. Sometimes they stop for a 'splash and dash' refuel, but don't tell you. Probably not, if a coach onward journey was involved, I concede. But still worth looking IMO

It was definately foggy and there wasn't a plane on the ground or anything coming in all the time we were there. This was from about 10.30am until 12.30 at which point we were put on coaches. I heard later that a flight had managed to land but think it would be about 3.30pm. Oh well, thanks anyway, thought I could put some more business Bott & Co's way :D
  • I'm from the united states and not comfortable giving EUclaim my bank account info in a email as they suggested.

How do people in the united states receive your compensation ? This will be from AirBerlin. I posted a claim 6 weeks ago and they sent a email asking for my Bank info so they can transfer my money into my account. Can't they just send me a check?

I sent a message to them that I don't understand how this Bank transfers work - it is not usually done in the United States.

Assuming that you require compensation in $ I would say the best and easiest way is to give them your bank details - how much have Air Berlin (in $) offered you?

From what I understand they are paying 1200 euros and then euclaim takes their fee. In the united states we don't pass out our Bank account numbers because of scams. We don't have the extra codes like in Europe to protect us.

Surely if you have used EU Claim/Bott & Co you can speak/email them. Given the, general, good reports regarding their conduct I would have thought they could accommodate your wishes in some way. What have your further enquiries of them suggested so far and how did you pay your initial fee?

My fee will be taken out of the amount the Airline agrees to and They will pay me the remainder.

I've asked if they could send me a check and waiting to hear back from them.

It is unusual for them not to charge an 'up front' amount for taking on your case as the norm is a 25€ payment ~ whatever the outcome. Out of your 'award' they then deduct their fee being 25/27% of the total. I just wondered if you had been let off the 25€ but good to see you have contacted them regarding the possible issue of a cheque.

Edit > Bott & Co only levy the 25€ after they 'win'.

Just want to report a successful claim by EU Claim/Bott & Co on my behalf against Qantas (22 hour delay in 2010) after various refusals - the money has just hit my account. Very pleased :)
