Most other forums are actively moderated (as well as having a report feature). We're led to believe this site relies on offending items being reported before they are reviewed, hence possibly why the spammers like this site so much.

On some sites (and I don't think this site is any different) people nowadays prefer to let the spam and other nonsense that often goes on remain - have you looked at HUKD site recently as a prime example?

You have answered your own question.

I think they probably post in the early hours of the morning in the hope that the post won't get spotted, and marked as spam.
