Mods, it looks like the kitchen salesman is back again, spamming all over the shop. He was here last week as well, registered under several different user IDs ( nganthok123 as an example )
Just a thought, is it possible to completely and permanently block his IP address ( and others like him ) so that they can't ever register here again in the future ? Would save you good folk some work in having to remove the posts and delete the accounts all the time.

and if it is not bad enough that the kitchen spammers do their work, along come some 'well meaning' members and bump all the threads to the top of the boards again by telling everyone that "this is spam"
I think that by now, everyone knows they are spam threads so they don't need to bump them.
I can understand pointing out some obscure thread as suspected spam but these kitchen ones follow pretty much the same format and are well known enough that there is no need to bump them up to the top.0 -

There is another one late at night that advertises fake documents including fake passports for many countries.0

New game. First to spot the spammer wins a prize. The prize could be a poor quality kitchen bodged into your home by primates.0

Bumping them to the top gets them clicked as spam all the quicker. Far better than leaving them to slide down the forum and have exposure for months. IMO
I am not sure it works here exactly but when I was on another board we used to be able to see everything and once you got to know what type of spam you get on a daily basis you could simply scan down the page regardless of whether you had 1 report or a 100.
Posting on a board only tends to raise your post count and nothing more, it is always better just to report and let the others who recognise it as such to report too without bringing attention to it for others.
It used to be that Google would see many instances of a phrase on a site and give that more weight, these idiot spammers really haven't got the message that it doesn't work anymore.Jamie_Carter wrote: »There is another one late at night that advertises fake documents including fake passports for many countries.
I saw them yesterday all over the forums, are there any other ones?"Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck" - The Doctor.0 -
I am one of the people who press the spam button when I see the kitchen thread. I do this because a MSE moderator said it helped them remove the offending comment quicker. The moderator requested that we continue to press the Spam icon when we see the thread.
If this is not the case then I'm very happy to stop doing it as it isn't exactly the most exciting thing to do with my time!
Could a moderator please comment on whether it is or is not helpful for people to press the Spam button when they see the kitchen adverts.0 -
