I'm with you Thorsoak but as you'll see from earlier posts, this type of life is prevalent nowadays. People obviously aren't fazed about drugs in the home. Nor by the illegality.
The OP may have a much higher tolerance level than you or I do. That's why she's focussing on the "deceit" aspect rather than the "drugs" aspect.
yes I don't like the deceit, that's obviously a huge part of this, if he had spoken to me about it instead of lying we could have had the chat about the drugs, and yes I suppose I did become disaffected about drugs when we went through what we went through with our son because as we found out drugs are everywhere, the young and the old the rich and the poor, it really opened my eyes, as if you really look you will see drugs are being taken by a lot more people than you know.
I don't have any worries about the danger to my children as the drugs were hidden and my kids who are 10, 13 and 15 know all about the dangers of drugs because believe it or not they actually get more contact with drug takers when they are out of my house, for example kids taking drugs to their school, yes that really does happen!!!
so yes for me it does come down to the deceit primarily, as although I don't agree with drugs I hate liars
as the saying goes better to trust a thief as they will steal your things, than a liar who will steal your soul and then lie about it.0 -
This might make interesting reading for some of you (and push MrsDrink off her high horse)....

Just because "a lot" of people take drugs doesn't make it right.
Just because a government has deemed it illegal doesn't make it wrong. It is legal to stone a woman to death in Saudi Arabia, but it doesn't make it right does it??Remember Occam's Razor - the simplest explanation is usually the right one.

The thing for me though is that you can have one glass of wine and be relatively unaffected, still make good judgement calls, remember the next morning (even the hangovers are less). Not the case with a lot of drugs (a joint or two possibly being the exception).
Having seen a close relative off their face on whatever pill or powder they've taken I can tell you that I'd rather have a drunk person than a drugged person round me any day of the year.0 -

That drugged person maybe, but tbh you've prob engaged in conversation with plenty of stoned / coked up people at some point or another, and not even realised it.
also, chances are you relative was prob drunk as well as on drugs.0 -

No. Like everything, it's about the dose. The evidence is staring you in the face; alcohol is the most harmful drug, especially when it comes to inflicting harm on other people.Remember Occam's Razor - the simplest explanation is usually the right one.
