He is certainly lying. Really, who just holds onto drugs for a friend? Maybe I'm being naive but I can't really think of any reasons for holding onto drugs for a friend unless they thought they were going to get raided? And then such a (relatively) small amount? It's just a pack of lies, anyone on the outside can see that but I appreciate it's harder to see when you're the one who knows him.

And so if he's not lying who is this 'friend' that you've never met? A drug dealer? And so why does he suddenly know a drug dealer?

f I were in your shoes, I wouldn't be trying to catch him out ...I would be asking him to leave now! If he isn't a user, he is a supplier - and with your son already a victim to drugs, I would not want any other children tainted - a loving father he may be - but what loving father brings potential death into his family?

I would need to do some research online to find the best price, see what ratings the drug dealers have (y'know, reliability, speed of delivery, customer service etc etc!), fill a virtual basket with my purchases, then inspect the packaging details, full list of ingredients, and finally a full set of instructions. And of course their Returns Policy. All before committing to my purchase

Just because "a lot" of people take drugs doesn't make it right.

I would probably try to forgive a one off 'mistake'; but a second time? No chance. He'd be out on his ear, or I'd be running for the hills.

I'm with you Thorsoak but as you'll see from earlier posts, this type of life is prevalent nowadays. People obviously aren't fazed about drugs in the home. Nor by the illegality.

The OP may have a much higher tolerance level than you or I do. That's why she's focussing on the "deceit" aspect rather than the "drugs" aspect.
