Do you know which branch you have used it in? I was told they don't accept it by their head office.

I used my amex card at a KFC on the M6 motorway last week (keele services I think). The card was accepted without any problems.

This week I went to my local KFC but I was told they don't accept the card:think:

Ah that makes sense now. Most KFC stores do not accept Amex as the majority use the same system. Motorway services are a franchise owned by Welcome Break who have chosen to use their own systems and will accept it.

  • Right I reckon I can easily cover the £3000 in a year, but the big question reading this is how.....

I fill up almost every week over £50 in diesel, Food shopping at predominately Asda and Tesco plus occasionally Waitrose or Morrisons...

I spend on Clothes, Car Insurance, Car repairs and maintenance etc etc, so in general terms whats the recommendation from you guys.....

I will be renewing my Iphone when the new one hits the streets, buy computer software and games, all I'm sure can be purchased on these Amex cards as opposed to my Debit card purchasing habits, and in doing so get me a few quid back...

    Hi all

Feeling gutted about Barclaycards trashing of the points rate [what else would we expect from Barclay's!!!]

I thought I would try Amex. However, the more I check it out the more companies wont accept it, even my own...lol...

The commission rate charged by Amex to vendors is so high few want to use it.

So might have to use the mastercard secondary to those who wont accept Amex. Unless anyone has other ideas???

    Cheers

  • Glasgow Council don't accept AMEX for Parking fines.

Just thought I'd add another one to the list of non-AMEX friendly organisations (I flicked through quickly, but didn't see anyone swearing at the council)...

I received a 'Penalty Charge Notice' in Glasgow. Parked on Double yellows for 4 mins (with someone in the car) whilst picking up the guys for our footy match. (I know I shouldn't have parked, but was gutted nonetheless - that'll teach me!).

Anyway, I have just tried to pay the fine and I've been told they don't accept AMEX. How, when it is a fine that is purely profit, can they justify not accepting ANY form of payment (My preferred payment would be a quantity of manure at Parking HQ!). How much extra would they be charged by AMEX over Visa/Mastercard for a £30 ticket?

    Cheers,
    Nosey Parker
