^^^^ I could have written that! I was consumed by dark thoughts of death and illness in the family, felt a bit paranoid that nobody liked me ted.
Those feelings have gone now but the flushes remain a real nuisance.
No benefit as yet from the sage tablets.
I also started at 14and peri meno at about 45-6.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -

Have the feelings of doom and worry about mortality and so it helps knowing others feel the sameLost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

re the doom and gloom. I went through that a few years ago majorly and ended up barely recognising myself. I would lash out at those I loved the most and cause so much pain with the cruel things I would say. That behaviour isn't me at all and sadly when I was at my worst my darling mum died. Unfortunately she had taken the brunt of it and so you can imagine how I feel about that. Guilt is my middle name and there isn't an hour that I don't struggle with that. I am sure that if I hadn't been menopausal I wouldn't have undergone the personality change.
Fortunately I am back to my old self and no longer lash out but I still have the doom I probably should have gone to the doctor but for various reasons I didn't. My deepest regret and one that will live with me till I die is how I hurt the one person on this earth that meant so much to me.
I detest the menopause and just wish it would go away.0 -
Just found this thread....
My story: 1 year ago had it confirmed I was going through the menopause - I was 42 at the time. In hindsight I felt I had the symptoms for a good couple of years prior to this, but didn't really realise / think about it at the time...
I was on the pill and decided I wanted to stop using it (been on it for many years and wanted a break), 3 months later still no period (def not pg) so went to my doctor as I just felt something wasn't quite right and suspected the menopause. As I was a little younger than the norm, he was a little doubtful but carried out blood tests which confirmed I was going through it. I didn't actually know at the time, but the females on mum's side (mum, auntie, nan) all had gone through the menopause at an earlier age.
Over 1 year later no periods at all...I do get awful flushes, and previously / occasionally now had / have felt huge anxiety moments, weepy and plus just can't 'think straight'.
Oh and also seem to be getting a bit of a 'budda belly'!! Oh the joys of womanhood!
None of my friends my age are going through the menopause, so I feel a bit of the odd one out.
I do use Menopace which seems to have calmed down the anxiety and weepy feelings. I did not want to use HRT, that is my personal choice.
Oh and just to add...my first period was when I was 15! So I seem to have started late and ended early compared to most"A smile takes but a moment...

I'm seeing my oncologist tomorrow to see if I can switch from tamoxifen to something less toxic to me. I'm feeling awful: hot flushes from hell, joint pain, seriously depressed moods. I feel 88 NOT 48!
I nearly whacked ds2 yesterday when he was doing his usual teenage wind mum up stuff & I don't hit my kids ever!!
So miserable right now (cue aura buzzing in for another flush).:(Noli nothis permittere te terere
