hot flushes from menopause

I also take the ones that were posted earlier - use the website "Healthspan". They are stronger than the ones you buy in regular health stores. And it did take a while to kick in so don't give up just yet!0

Summer, I feel your ...well... Misery, hot flushes, etc etc.
You live in your body for years and years, and you know what it's going to do and when. Suddenly, everything changes, and its like living with a stranger....0 -
I thing it is very much a hidden subject especially around the loss of libido. I am really lucky that DH isn't bothered either as he has his own issue with erectile disfunction but I am not sure if this has partly been down to the lack of the aforesaid activity as I had the double whammy of the menopause and double spinal surgery which left lovemaking a challenge and he was so scared not to hurt me.
There is also the issue of hot flushes hitting in the middle
The last time we did try oestrogen cream which helped a wee bit. I think we are now going on for a couple of years lol. Never mind we still love each other to death and have lots of cuddles
Sorry if that is TMI but it may help other folk to know they are not alone
Sorry to hear you had surgery probs.
You made me:rotfl: I think I have shoved him off, yelling TOO HOT!!0 -
For those who find a fan too noisy, or it disturbs your OH, try a small Usb one, I bought one a few weeks ago, its very quiet and the breeze is just enough when its on my bedside table. £4.99 from B & MPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

I'm 47, so it won't be long for me. Does everyone have problems during the menopause or do some women not experience hot flushes etc?0

well been doc, and got load of blood taken "which I expected" back on mon see what results are and see what I can do next, not keen to go down hrt route if its just going to delay things, as think will cope easier now rather than later, just away to order the sage tablets from healthspan xi came into the world with nothing, and guess what? i still have it!!!:p0

everyone different, like periods some of us sail through them every month, and others suffer different symptons, menopause the same.
I have been suffering hot flushes on/ off last two years, which was fine, but suddenly the hot flushes became intense and unbearable along with a host of other problems due to menopause xi came into the world with nothing, and guess what? i still have it!!!:p0 -
I wonder if any of you have tried the Ladycare magnet I posted about in post 18.
I can assure you I have nothing to do with this firm, although I did used to work for Boots and it was staff there that mentioned it to me as they get lots of good comments.
I was going through all the symptoms talked about here and I hated socialising especially in weather like now. It was really in desperation I decided to give this a go and I can't describe the relief I got from this magnet. I am not usually in to therapy like this.
I will say though, I have recommended this many times and for some people it doesn't seem to work, others have been amazed like me.
It may sound expensive at about £20 but it is a once only payment compared with having to purchase medication weekly.0 -

I'm one for whom the sage has worked like a dream but I have a friend who tried them and they did nothing for her. She has used the magnet mentioned above with great success. I think it's probably just a case of trial and error.......0 -
I have been following this thread from the start. I had a few weeks of hot flushes about a year ago but then they stopped and I had no periods for about three months. My last period was six months ago and the hot flushes came back a couple of months ago. I thought it was the weather but no...it is the menopause. I can still cope with the hot flushes and the horrible sweaty feeling but expect them to get worse. i have mood swings but I always have had with PMT. I am tired all the time and not sleeping well.
I am thinking about buying a cool pillow (not the chillow the other one mentioned on here) and a scarf.
I am 46saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200
£60 deposit paid :j £100 paid:j £40 paid:j0
