Do you lie?

No, I've never lied on a competition entry to make myself eligible or to gain extra entries. And part of me hopes that people who do would get caught.0

I don't lie to gain more entries, but i sort of lie about my name. it's not a big lie, I just use my nickname and middle name rather than first and last, purely because i don't 100% trust the internet! :P2013 wins: hair tie, 1 book, Bourjois nail kit, elf lipstick,

If I enter a competition on a weddings website, for example, and they insist on me giving my intended wedding date and venue for my wedding, then I might not be 100% honest with my answer. It would have to be a fairly awesome prize for me to do that, however. There must be plenty of people that are planning to marry, or planning for their kids to marry, who haven't yet settled on the date/venue at the time they are researching their options. Also, competitions that require me to provide the date that my baby is due! :rotfl:OneYorkshireLass wrote: »I don't know how people remember all the AEs/DOBs/names/emails/Passwords etc. My memory's rubbish. I forgot my PayPal password earlier ... arrrghh, major panic!!
I use the LastPass add-on for Firefox to generate and store passwords for all the websites that I open accounts with, and have created an AutoHotkey script with the details that I most often fill in on comp forms. Somebody here very kindly made a starter guide to AutoHotkey and with their help it was fairly easy to create my first ever script. Thanks to all who post constructively.

I don't enter competitions that I'm not eligible to win. As nice as holiday competitions on wedding sites sound, even with the fact that the T&Cs don't usually state that you need to be a couple to enter, it doesn't seem fair to potentially take the prize away from someone it's more suited to
The only thing I do sometimes lie on is Rafflecopter blog post comments, where the draw is random, so the actual comments aren't judged. If it asks 'What is your favourite vegetable?' I don't think it's in the spirit of things to enter "I hate all vegetables! Blech!", so I'd write something like "Oh I just looooove carrots!". Well, maybe not quite as OTT as that!OneYorkshireLass wrote: »I've had to prepare surveys before and I wouldn't want to skew results as I think it's rude.
Same. The company is gathering the stats for a purpose, so I don't think it's fair to give them false information.0 -

I have a slight "typo" in my DOB when I enter comps plus sometimes I pretend to be a Lady on some comps.
I even pretend to be a child sometimes as well.
It's out in the open now :-)
I am shocked

, my son has entered hundreds of comps
and now my daughter is also getting her name put in the hat.
I do enter the wedding comps (despite being married) if its for a holiday, jewellery (not actual wedding stuff like invites ) and put the actual date of my wedding in the date box thus leaving up to the promoter as to whether im eligable to win.
Why put a date for the wedding down , just say you are undecided
although i don't personally agree with you multiple entering as others for the same prize or the wedding ones.0 -
