Do you lie?

Do you, or are you ever tempted to, lie on competition entries?
I haven't so far, but wonder if I might win more if I did
Do they really check?

Possibly, though I usually enter in my fella's name if I think that will make a difference.
I guess I'm thinking about comps that may not be aimed at me, but I would still like to win. There are lots of honeymoon/wedding comps that I'd like to win. I'm not planning on getting married, but would love the holiday/nice jewellery etc. Been with my BF for 15 years so could wing it if I won
I won a year's worth of 'family tickets' to Merlin attractions last year. Great for me, as we've got kids, but they sent individual tickets that could have been used for anyone. Also won an iPad for nominating my son's teacher as the best teacher, but they never checked anything, as far as I know.0 -
I never lie (but that might be a lie)
Nah, I often enter kids comps on my sons behalf, but that's no lie really, he just can't be bothered typing his name and address etc as he's only 6
Sometimes I might bend the truth a little to suit the compUEFA: Corrupting Football Since 1954 #CTID0 -
I have a slight "typo" in my DOB when I enter comps plus sometimes I pretend to be a Lady on some comps.
I even pretend to be a child sometimes as well.
It's out in the open now :-)0 -
I only lie when the question they ask isn't relevant to the prize - thing like at mother's day why is your Mum the best etc? My Mum has been dead for over 20 years so I couldn't answer that one one.proud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

Feel similar on that one. I love my mum and think she s great but I certainly have exaggerated how she has done amazing things just to show how I deserve to win. - hate those comps!0 -
For me the difference is whether or not it feels like lying or cheating. I wouldn't make things up to give myself an edge, but I have just occasionally entered in my hublet's name. For example, if the prize is to win a car, I might enter in his name, because then I don't have to worry about scouring the T&C to check about transferring it into his name to collect it.

i always change the DOB by a year if I have to supply address details. The only exception is for holiday comps, afraid that if info isn't right and doesn't match passport it may negate the win..
I sometimes enter as hubby for mens comps.
I enter wedding ones too. We didn't have a honeymoon and I'd tell them it was for an anniversary instead.
I lie for the mum's day one too, I answer it in the way I 'hope' my sons would answer for me!!Thanks to those that post the comps!!
