Morning Yompers
I had to have a wee spend this morning (lady stuff) but it doesn't count as a SFD as Tesco very kindly sent me £20 on a card yesterday - so I used that :j:j
So balances still stand at
SFD - 0/20
Budget £0/£200
3 x £5 days out - 0/3
De-clutter 0/100
DH should only be working a half day again today (bresking himself back to work gently) so tea will be sorted when I go home (it's all bought in anyway) and he will have taken out the £200 for this month's budget (I'm away to text him to remind him).
Quick question though - we had to buy a new fish pump yesterday through e-bay - but I used the money that I had got from selling stuff - does that count as a spend?:o
Good luck to y'all today

Right I am trying again now... Late one at work last night so had to rush and get things sorted for today and avoid getting to bed too late.. Neighbour's puddy-tat calling for my puddy-tat kept me awake... naughty puddy-tats....:p
Abundant your spend before the beginning of the month is cheating but I had to do it too as I was all out of foodage. Embrace the green glowing smoothie - it will do your insides the world of good.. all those anitoxidants, phytochemicals and micronutrients.... if you are using money to pay for food its a spend day.. sorry...you know the ruules!
Anything bought with points or money already made on eBay counts as an SFD - as long as you aren't using hard cash from your wages...
Zenshi please post away...:)
HM - run that by me again - are you paying off the CC in full or adding it to something you are working on paying off this month..?
Siouxsie I follow your route as well - Morrisons / Asda / Lidl's / Tesco and Sainsburys are all hit in one swoop if neccessary. MySupermarket is used first - make sure I have the best prices, then price check in Lidl's (did this on Sunday for nuts), yellow sticker run to Sainsburys around the corner but they are lame as they are too small. Always worth a look I think....I am so sad!
LHG - if you are away I would expect it to be budgeted for anyway. Spend days are still spend days but stay within your budget and I will allocate both you and Siouxsie an extra two SFD's.... the budget is the most important. If you have a price in mind that you cannot go over you are more inclined to not buy things than if you were going in with a "lets just see / look / check" attitude... does this help..?...and I nearly purchases £4.99 "vegan" iced dessert "just to have handy"...
Munchin - Mark it up as 1 spend day not four. It is afterall budgeted for... ( I am being super nice here...:rotfl:)
Wannabe - what did you get then...?
Mr Cobes - big congratualtions on Baby Cobes - although you did none of the hard work....:p
NannyG are we going to hear reports of a crazy woman on the news driving like a lunatic with her nose pressed against the windscreen, shoes on the wrong feet, speeding in the desperate bid to find yellow sticker lovelies..?
Brizzle are you joining the smoothie gang...? I am supping one at the moment... YUMMY!!! Although my colleague has made carrot cake I have resigned myself to the fact the two shouldn't mix... well not yet anyway...
Right back to work ...#groan...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Binky you are in - you are also the last to be added so I would ask all those that see noobs after today to advise them to lurk and learn.. Binky tell us about yourself... debt levels, goals for when you are debt free, do you have a debt free day in mind..?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Morning,
Yesterday was my first SFD and I have no plans of going anywhere near shops today so it should be my 2nd
Have a great day everyone!0 -
You may be sorry you asked NSK.
I got:
2 tiger loaves reduced to 15p each
w/m pitta wraps reduced to 30p
Gammon reduced to £1.30
2 chicken breasts reduced to £1.50
Turkey mince reduced to 70p
2 pieces of melon reduced to 25p each
2 punnets of strawberries at 50p each
Freezer was still full from last visit there... so is now just about overflowing. I'm just planning what to make for dinner today.
Was just sitting thinking I was feeling about ready to go back to work, and then I've randomly burst into tears, thinking about my friend who's leaving at the end of term. Can't believe I'm already fretting about next week, and I don't even know if the doctor will sign me back to work yet. Suppose I'll find out Friday.
It's only half nine but I'm really quite determined that today will be a sfd - hope my willpower stays intact.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Does anyone have an idea where I can get a nice dress for my daughter that doesn't cost a bomb?! This is for the 18th birthday meal we're going to which is on the Pullman. I really can't afford to spend much and I begrudge spending money on clothes that will be worn once, but she has nothing suitable that fits. She's a 'small' age 14 although I tend to buy her size 6 in adult clothes as they fit better than children's sizes.0

OK, first time in a challenge like this so may well need help along the way!
My friend came over yesterday and wrote me a months shopping list and meal planFirst time I have bought groceries for a month in years!
Grocery budget £100 but will knock off £20 so hopefully will spend no more than £80. I did my shop last night, at yellow sticker timeand in total have spent £71.99 which leaves me a little for bits and bobs throughout the month
I have already committed to 3 days out, paid for last month. They may come in the under £5 spend category as I will take my own lunch. May treat myself to a nice coffee as one day is a 3hour each way journey
Fuel budget set at £60. I work from home so don't use much in an average month
Have allocated 2 meals out, unsure of dates yet....dependant on if and when my son gets his leave time!
My daughter made me a 'jingle' about my debts and decided that I will be ' debt free in 23' :rotfl: In all honesty, it's probably about right. Long way off but something to aim for!
And lastly, drum roll please............
At Pass out
On a real yomp!
And I must add, that all out lads and lasses in the Forces deserve our support!!!LBM.....sometime in 2013 £27,056. 10 creditors

£26,200 on interest only part of mortgage (July 16)...will chip away £17,103
£49,200 repayment mortgage ( July 16) £37,7640 -
WE HAVE A MASCOT!!!! I am all up for supporting our troops! Thank you for sharing this Zenshi... I am sure your son would be super amused by this little thread! Now where is my camo face paint.....
Would you care to share your debt amount so we can cheer you along the way...2023 is a LONG time and perhaps we can work something out to push you onwards and upwards...?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.
