Sorry don't know what came over me....“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -

Just got back from a lovely lunch with hubby. It was bought on a gr0upon voucher in March and we hadn't gotten round to using it. So I've just scoffed the most fantastic Thai 2 course lunch for nothing (as the spend was in March when I bought the voucher).Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Quick question.......So I'm going shopping tonight and was wondering how I know I'm going to be within my budget. What little tips do people have so they don't get to the till and find they are massively over budget?October make £10/day currently £11.020

My kids have a calculator each and total up the shopping as we go round.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

I keep a running total and write it on my shopping list each time I add something so I don't lose count. If Hubby's with me he'll keep total on his phone's calculator app. I go round and pick up the things I need first then, if I can afford to, I pick up the treats I want.0 -
Fab, thanks both for your advice. I have got mu list, so I'll write the cost next to each one and then add it up before I get to the till!
Is it wrong that I'm a little bit excited about how cheaply I can make this shop!October make £10/day currently £11.020 -
The alternative Avogirly is to shop "virtually" on your supermarket's website - you'll then know exactly how much it will cost (although you will have to guess for weighed items).
I do the calculator thing though.
Thanks NSK - today is a spend day thenDid get a free coffee and biccies in Virgin Lounge and also some samples from Boots so it cancels it out in my head, even if not on the challenge haha! Yes the baby is mine - although he's a gigantic 2 and a half year old now!

Here we go, here we go, de dum de dum
SFD number 1 - in the bag
Work progressing - have been feeling swamped so huzzah!
Budgets below, village fete, local show and weekend in Cornwall this month so I think thats my £5 treats GONE!
Other news - a house has come on the market for a bit of a bargain price - we are looking at it tomorrow morning - this will mean one of three things - I spend the next 4 days tidying and painting like a maniac, seeing it will rule it out, or number 1 followed by someone else putting in an offer and being accepted and me having a very tidy house for bog all reason. Watch this space - what will be will be and if I say it often enough I might believe myself!! :rotfl:
Diet this month - well lets just say that beef will be fairly constant...
Love to all, LAGL xxDebt free on the 28/05/130 -
Quick question from me, I have to change the surname on my driving licence which incurs a small cost. Seen as though i have the money saved in the car fund to pay fro it does this qualify as a no spend as its money saved from previous months??December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22
Weight loss: 1.5lbs0
