    Good morning fellow Yompers

Today is a spendy day - have already filled up the car (petrol isn't counted in my budget at the moment as can't car share with hubby as he's still off sick & I need to get to work)
But I'm sitting here with a large flask of coffee to see me through the day at work. Need to nip out at lunchtime to post 7 items sold on e-bay :j:j

Also need to take out the £200 for spendies this month. I know it's a lot compared to many of you - but it's better than nowt & the aim is not to spend all of it.

Also - I aim to declutter 100 things from the house by any means possible. Bookshelves & wardrobes will probably be the main point of attack :o

    So - to summarise
    SFD - 0/20
    Budget £200/£200
    3 x £5 days out - 0/3
    De-clutter 0/100

Off to earn pennies now - have a good day

    Good morning everyone!

I'm off, running, and super motivated today! Last week I printed off a calendar and I listed all my SFD's on it and the days when I need to spend. On the left I pasted the rules for this month so I can't forget them. My shopping budget is £160, this comes out of my joint account and today is a shopping day, we don't need much so I am going to keep spending to a minimum. Today I am going to plan food for the week so I know exactly what I will need when I go shopping tonight.

So my budgets are as follows: -

    SFD's 0/20
    Food budget 0/£160
    October make £10/day currently £11.02

    Morning all,

I know I'm a day late but I'd like to join in, my excuse is I've been away this weekend.

I'm still waiting on my CC statement arriving so I can pay the darn thing off though it's had a bit of a hammering this weekend too. However, apart from a meal out on Saturday then friends back to ours we have no social events planned this month.

    My numbers for July:

    Groceries: £0/£240
    Fun: £0/£100
    Debt paid: £0/£330
    SFD: 0/20

Today won't be a SFD as I need to buy cat litter and some final bits for Hubby's birthday though.

    :hello:Hello fellow Yompers

So..my aims for the challenge and hopefully keeping within the rules;)

    - aim for 20 SFDs ( did some grocery shopping yesterday, including lemonade to keep me away from the wine!, but saved my c@@p vouchers for later on in the challenge when it gets really hard!:D)
    - have my 3 events scheduled, one is a Festival so that won't be £5 max. a day, but at least tickets etc already paid for and focussing on the treats of these days will keep me away from the spends on other days and OH has a birthday this month too( his present already bought and paid for from current account)
    - not eating out will be a killer, but nothing ventured, nothing gained..:rotfl:
    - grocery bill, including pet food, household and alcohol, for 3 adults and 2 children ( 1 a teenager), to be no more than £500. Thats a decrease on what we regularly budget and spend at the moment  Veggies and seasonal food direct from the farmer to dominate the menus this month! luckily we have a lot of salad in the allotment!
    - persuade OH to help me EBay...we both find it soul destroying but it's a good way to declutter. We have already done some decluttering. Off to the CS now with more.
    - v importantly, let OH know we are on this challenge..:T

    Think that's it.

    Morning All

Day's going well so far and should be a SFD!

Only got 1 big thing happening in July which is my eldest son's 18th birthday meal ~ I've already paid for the meal itself but we will have to buy drinks. Unfortunately my daughter has shot up and will need a new dress but hopefully we can get a nice one thats not too expensive?

Got 2 things to look forward to, one being my college course.......yep I've finally enrolled on the book keeping course and start on the 18th Sept! The other is an unexpected trip to Florence next year ~ the only thing I need is spending money so I'll be saving like mad for that!

If possible I would love to clear the catalogue debt and the overdraft completely in July, not sure if either is possible this month but we'll see?

Other than going out on Saturday to get daughters dress and on the 14th for the meal no other outings that need money are planned, so I probably won't use the 3 '£5' outings this month? Children don't finish school till the 24th and usually don't want to do much for the first week.

    The budget for July is:

    Groceries £0/£220
    SFD 0/20
    Outings £0/£80

    Good luck everyone!!

    xx

Dearest Yompers - good day to you all! Welcome on board GeorgieBrownO and HM...

I had a late start to the day today so took my time and ambled in, am having a little lunch now (massive salad) and thought it's time to check in on the Yompers and see how their loads are baring up..?

So how's it looking then eh? pretty good from where I am sat. Budgets however high you think they are, are now set in stone. Get the OH, kiddiewinkles and puppies and kittens on board. I love my puddy tat but she eats like a horse - we are down grading her foodage for the sake of this challenge. It costs £26 for 2.5kg.. not very MSE....:naughty:

As you can see from my signature - the loan has reduced by £1300... then £125 of interest has been added...:rotfl:.. but at least I have thrown what can only be described as a LOT to it this month....

So following from June's extremely hard £50/£60 food budget I have upped the ante to £100 this month and am £38.66 in. I intend to be SO strict this time. I am going vegan for the month and super healthy - this has already cost me a lot as the veg and salad will be gone and need replensihing by the end of the week - I also have smooties in the morning (100g spinach, 1 apple, 1 banana, 1 pear, celery stick, romaine or cos lettuce leaves and half a lemon juice ) - who knew pears were SO expensive... but it make me feel amazing...

My treat per week is a simple piece of fruit of my choosing - this might be a mango - strawberries or such like. Simple pleasures and all that..

Yellow sticker foodage will still be my secret indulgence.. last time strawberries for 40p a punnet were frozen and eaten for a week on my porridge...YUMMY!.. This is the way forward for me...:T:T:T

I intend to use the gym I am paying for more often - I have 20lbs to lose. The cinema within walking distance will be suitably abused as well...other than that I won't be going anywhere.

I no longer use coffee shops, restaurants, my clothes are limited due to me putting on weight in the last few years and because I am refusing to buy any more. ... I WILL GET 20 SFD's if it kills me...:rotfl:

Right then... off to eat my humongous salad and buy puddy-tat food...

    Onwards and Upwards Yompers!!!

  • Hello! I am so motivated for this challenge, but seen as its the first day who wouldnt be?!?! Need to stay focused and not give out towards the end like normal.

    My budget looks like this:
Food: £350 (2 adults, 2 children, 2 cats and an empty freezer)
    Fuel: £200 (2 cars)
    Misc: £60 (just in case)
    SFD: 20

The outings should be fun to plan, mostly outdoors free fun as most things round me are touristy and cost lots!
Have a wedding do this sat, but that works in well as thats also my food shop day so will only count as 1 spend day. Will have a sift through my wardrobe and see if i have anything to wear (that fits) to save me buying a new outfit.

    Good luck everyone!

    Hello!

If I am not too late, I would love to join this month please.

    Budgets are:

£250 food (already £103 down as payday for me is 28th June, but I will count 28th-27th for the month instead of 1-31st if that's ok?)

Personal spends £120 (£30 down so far)

A question - using free SFF tickets tonight but the friend I'm going with has suggested we both bring healthy treats so I am buying popcorn. If the money comes from my Tesc0 food budget, does today count as a SFD or do I count it as a spend? I'm assuming I count it as it won't be YS (unless I'm very lucky!) but just wanted to check!

Total £4151.44 | £2900.30 of £7051.74 paid off since diary started October 2024.
