I know it was a typo, but my puerile sense of humour wouldn't allow me to pass that one by!

Hello,
Still here too and things going ok. Not spend since Monday and hopefully won't have to the next few days either. That being pregnant thing really helps. There's no oh just a get a couple of ciders after work on Friday or a pack of fags which then leads to other spends. So I like that aspect
Other wise not much to report. Kept myself busy in the garden cutting down trees.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Yikes, just noticed the forum will be down from 7pm so I'll throw in a quick update now. Quiet working day for me today and I'm heading for a free yoga class in Covent Garden this evening. Since my Misc budget is still relatively healthy, I'll go for a smoothie afterwards and top up the goodness that I've been craving over the last few days
Regarding my £3 off £20 Sainsburys voucher, I think I'll just skip it (shame I can't pass it on to any of you big spenders, but it has an expiry date of 30 July). I have £15.70 left in my grocery budget so I'd have to root about and find the extra few ££ to pay for it. Plus, whatever's left in the budget will get carried forward to next month's voucher only self-imposed challenge to give me a little leeway. So, I guess this is a lesson in it only being an offer if it's worthwhile!
Have a nice Friday everyone, I'll catch up again when the Forum is back up and running0 -

Hi everyone, just got in from work and sat down with a coffee. I have DGD with me as well, picked her up from holiday club as her mum has to work tomorrow am and its my day off.
Im another one who doesn't follow all the rules, the eating everything you have in before buying anything else - sends me into the jelly wobbles, I could never have empty cupboards, I have to be able to feed the family without buying in or I go all unnecessary:) BUT I have learnt one thing I am going to create a budget for food etc next month as I cant believe the amount I have spent. I have been sent to SW referred by the Drs (so I don't have to pay anything) but I must admit I didn't realise the cost of all the fresh fruit and veg I have to eat to feel full, Im more used to lasagne, pies etc real filling food (that's the problem) anyway Im going to look at the receipts and see if I can come up with cheaper meals for August.
:)BUT I have to pay the debt off and this month I reckon my OD has probably gone back up even if the CCs have gone done:( so August is going to be very frugal for me.

PS I haven't been on for a couple of days, so still catching up on the thread, but I will read up on what I have been missing.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund0 -
Evening!
Quick review of this months rules has revealed that I haven't followed them all strictly to the letter...I think I checked in most days - so yay me!
I didn't plan my days out this month... I *will* do August's tonight.
I nose dived on the eating out this month.
I haven't used any under £5 days as SFD (I forgot this one!!!) Suspect my SFD total would be higher.
Didn't reach my 20 SFD target though got a fair few more than last month.
 Budget well and truly went west this month.
Will be sure to real *all* the rules for August and do my best to adhere!!!

Ooooh we are back!!
Anyway - still now news on house. Working again today - no big mystery there - to get mortgage we would need have increased my hours - I was planning to do this in September when DS starts school but have brought it forward. Add to the increase in hours the fact that I lost a week or so due to decorating nuttiness then it means that I am pulling very long days between now and Wednesday to get them done - normally it will be 6 hrs per day mon - friday!
Sfd today - not yesterday - needed supplies - kiddlies are eating me out of house and home and I havent got time to bake!
Love to all
LAGL (who is becoming resigned to her position of not knowing what will happen) xx
PS if one more person says "if its meant to be it will happen" - I will not be responsible for my actions!! :rotfl:
PPS - food budget mullered - please dont tell Kat - I dont want to be "licked" :eek:Debt free on the 28/05/130 -
Hey!
Am aware it's still July and so I'm trying not to break into my wages just yet.
I've had to put petrol in the car which will come out of August's budget, but otherwise I'm using up stuff. Lunch was Amaranth grains, salad and tuna!
Today = SFD number 12
How do people resist going out and buying stuff...? Kat - what's your mindset when you really knuckle down? What keeps you from spending?
Going to re-look at my budget and see if I can make any savings...
Right - Holiday Fund slashed from £60 to just a £10 into a 'Treat Fund'. That feels more in keeping with this challenge. We were putting a tenner away at the end of the month, and I'm going to do that again. It will build up over time...
The guy I'm going away with is on a juicing diet so I only have to feed myself - so in some ways that's much easier as I can budget and not have to go out for expensive meals etc.
I have £50 spends + £30 per week for food so I should have plenty. My aim is to spend £25 or less p/wk if I can though... I went from living off basics to spending loads on healthy food and supplements and eating vast amounts of food - and somewhere there is a compromise. I'm going to cut back on volume but still eat healthy and see how I go...

Oh boy have I failed this month!
I am in credit in both accounts, have had to use some savings to pay off loan, the last 500 quid was bugging me, I will pay it back out next month's wages.
I moved my cc debt cos the original cc was charging payment protection without my knowledge (the card changed companies bit annoying to be honest all happened years ago!)
It has cost me moneybut it was the principle of the thing plus the cc the debt is on now is easier to pay. so hey ho.
Leaving work meant expense, probably a bit silly to do the challenge in this month or next. I shall cheer lead in August. need to work out what I have paid off so far.
crikey I am tired.
how is everyone else?Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
I love this challenge too ~ it really does help to keep me focused.
Looking at the rules:
I haven't checked in everyday (oops) there's normally a lot going on in the morning and the evening so I just try and pop on as often as possible.
The sfd's I've actually managed this month (woohoo!)
I've got to get some shopping in today but am hoping to stay within my limit. I had quite a lot of food in already so didn't have to buy too much BUT not so sure that'll be the same for August as I hardly have anything in now. Think I definitely need to meal plan for August and maybe shop every few days instead of a big shop in one go? I definitely can't do the 'eat everything before you buy more' ~ I don't mind doing that but hubby and kids would not be happy if they had pasta everyday for a week!
Didn't use the 3 x £5 outings. Not even sure I could do that with kids in tow for August. There's not much to do where I live (a park, library and that's about it!) and to travel anywhere costs more than £5 just for me (I don't drive). Need to come up with things I could do for £5 mainly with DD1 (14) and DS2 (9). Maybe I could get some ingredients in to make pizza, cakes or something like that with them but not sure what else?
The eating out rule was fine cos I don't really do that. The one time I do, I get a bus to the closest town and my friend who lives there buys us a breakfast deal (meal and drink) as she just walks into town ~ that way we both spend the same amount but on different things and it means we can afford to meet up fairly often when the kids are at school (we're both watching finances!)
I did set my debt free date but with clearing the catalogue and overdraft this month I'm hoping it will come forward to maybe 2016/17? I still need to save up spending money for my trip to Florence next year. I want to clear the loan next before I increase the payments to my Mum to clear what I owe her (I've spoken to her about this and she says as long as she gets a small amount monthly she's happy about it).
I'm still trying to declutter the house ~ my things are pretty much sorted but its the hubby (serial hoarder) who is a major nightmare and the kids are only marginally better. We're going to do some more clearing while they are off school/college.
Ok well that's about it. I'll pop on later to update the shopping figures.
Have a great day everyone!
