Day 24
Spends £307/£300. + £37 yesterday ! On unplanned spending
Yesterday a spend day....needed to buy a Bluetooth earpiece as the only consistent signal for my mobile is my back bedroom...so tried the gizmo around the house...a success ....£25. Justified for sanity
Needed a morning at the gym...first time for 10 months..needed the spa after ! £12.... However having saved the £141 as mentioned earlier...I am justifying to myself....
No spend today...happy with that
Catch you all tomorrow x0 -
Evening all - has anyone got some spare nerves cos mine are shot to pieces!:(
So potential buyer came around - his FA has said buying ours is doable but he wants a couple of days to check his figures and talk with his wife - they both work long hours and need to properly chat. Its not quite what I was after but still good - he does want ours but we havent talked turkey yet. Date wise they would be hoping for October - my initial shock has turned to that could work as its almost August and the vendor of middle earth needs to find somewhere.
Going to look at middle earth with a builder friend tomorrow evening to check the modifications we would want to do are actually possible.
Then what do we do - hold out till possibly tuesday for potential buyer to come through or following epc and measuring on friday morning stick ours on the market on mon/tues.... chicken and egg position. What price to put it on at v prices discussed with private buyer.... Obviously if we do sell to private buyer its written in EA contract that there is no fee to pay etc.
Meanwhile the other interested parties are shoving theirs straight on the market so IF it sold mega fast we could be scuppered. Where is Kirsty when I flipping need her!! In the absence of location location team et al would be interested to know your thoughts - do I take a chance for a few more days, push both sale methods and risk upsetting private buyer and scuppering prices discussed.
Dont want to put in offers when we havent got everything sewn up this end yet - hate the idea of messing vendor around and this might put them off us in the future and it would be a weak bargaining position for us. Oh and saying that we have a buyer at this precise moment is also not an option - we have a potential buyer - anything more would be a lie and we wont do that.
Anyway thats where we are - yes they can get the funds but the want to double check the details and in the mean time we wait some more. this would be fine but when the virtue of patience was give out I was first in the queue for "can we get on with it please".
Anyway - was out for tea with friends after all tonight - sfd was therefore lost. I have worked nearly 9 hours so far today and am aiming for 10 before I turn in. Cant do owt else so Im working!
Oh and its raining - so fertiliser is soaking into garden - lush and green grass if we do go to market....
Love to all from a very on the edge LAGL xx

Banks threaten to increase charges for using credit and debit cards after EU cracks down on fees for retailers
But banks warn that consumers will end up paying more for the cards themselves in the form of an annual fee.
For debit cards, MasterCard says consumers might have to pay an extra £11 a year. Credit cards, they say, could cost an extra £25 a year. It warns that banks could well pass this cost on.

i am old enough to remember a fee being charged when using a ATM every time cash withdrawn, I think it was .25p, so one hit on payday all cask except DD money out...then spent.
Will we start to do this again as members of the ' give them nothing club' ...if so I wonder how long it will take before the banks impose penaltys for not using ATM's enough..or impose an annual charge ...would you pay it...I am sure ways are being devised now to grab some cash as ...we as a nation have stopped spending and are paying back....
There is no money for the money brokers in ' no creditors'

LAGL Hope everything gets sorted soon ~ I think I'd be a nervous wreck if I was in your shoes!
Spend day yesterday as I took my youngest out for Pizza after school, as his brother and sister had gone to a theme park (which they saved up and paid for!) It's taken me over my spend budget but I don't regret it for a second (sorry but it's true!). It's nice to spend some time with just one child. Also I cancelled the overdraft sooner than expected and cleared the catalogue (hmmmmmmmm sounds a lot like I'm trying to justify the spend?!).
Not expecting to spend anything for the next few days, I have plenty of food in (saying that its school holidays now so it could disappear at a terrifying rate!). Anyway I shall keep a close eye on the spending and see if I can keep under budget for food.
Have a great day everyone0 -

Hubby paid for our trip to the cinema last night. Glad we did the orange wednesday thing - £8.15 a ticket these days! The price of food was mental - £4+ for popcorn or a drink. We used to go to the cinema a lot but actually hadn't been this year. Jonesy, we watched The World's End and there's a few we fancy seeing soon so better get saving
As we got in late and I spent the morning before work worming and defleaing cats and treating our bedroom with spray, Hubby has bought us lunch. I could get used to him spoiling me. Somehow though I reckon he'll be asking me to "lend" him some money before payday :rotfl:0 -
Hello hello hello! Sorry for being AWOL yesterday, I was working from home and the blooming broadband was down. I was peeved with BT, but pleased with them today as the £50 Sainsbury's vouchers are here plus the £80 qu1dco money is on it's way to my account! So I can poke up with having dodgy broadband for the day! It's all fixed now!
Didn't have a SFD day yesterday as I had an emergency trip to dentist as a filling has moved. I've got to go back in August to have it removed and another one put in, so that's going to be just delightful! As I had to spend there I thought I'd do some shopping for the week and spent £60 at Mr T's. This should last us till the end of the month. I have no more spending to do as I have no more money to spend. Let's hope payday comes round pretty sharpish!
NSK, do you have any idea what the next month challenge is. I've really enjoyed this one, and I've tried so hard to keep going. I can't wait for the next one!October make £10/day currently £11.020 -
Afternoon Chickadees...
How are we all this fine and glorious day! I am in work until 1900 so forgive my delay in penning my thoughts for the day!
Avogirly - next month needs a rethink. Will possibly be posted very soon but I need to change the tack that we have been following! It seems things have got tough, whether the weather doesn't help, people are becoming more complacent or things are a little bit more difficult during the summer holibobs! This month and last has been particularily been exceptionally hard for people and me included..... this needs to stop!
I have a name! I just need to think about the rules - I am curious though - does anyone follow them to the letter... I think I have slipped on food and SFD's this month but otherwise stick as close as I can to my own rules......
Is there anything people find irrelevant or too hard...?
I am more determined than every to get this debt gone. £3000 of whats left is mine - the rest will be the payment the bank take anyway and what Mumsy contributes... I need to locate £600 a month to pay it all off. With no overtime I won't be able to do this.
I am starting to have a little panic! the food spending will be reigned in next month. I might go back to basics although I am not decided on this yet.
SFD today at least. And yesterday!
LAGL I don't envy your position. I am cheering my little heart out for you. When you are into MiddleEarth we need a picture... so this :T:T:T is entirely and utterly for you.... keep your chin up pumpkin and borrow some of my nerves...:T:T:T
The day is progressing for me nicely, the boss man sent a good email giving me some good choices at work. I am going to take this away though and think it through before I commit to anything........ it as a positive step in the right direction.
Hmmmmmmmm so much to think about!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Kat, I don't follow every challenge rule to the T, some aren't appropriate to me or some I just know I won't manage. I never do the "eat everything before shopping again" as Hubby couldn't cope with that.0

Hi all.
Am a bit behind with my days...
Tues: BAD morning and bought chips (£2.40) and a coke zero to go with my healthy tuna salad at work. Alas - not a SFD!
Wed: Day off but spent £4.07 on healthy salad stuff to get me through until pay day on Friday. Went to beach with my friend who paid for petrol and dinner - I then felt guilty and bought us drinks and candy floss!!! (£4.00) Again - no SFD.
Thur: Had agreed to go out after college (our last day) so spent £5.00 there. Work meal tonight for friend visiting. Annoys me that it was arranged for the day before pay day - clearly by someone who has 2 incomes and doesn't struggle at the end of a month. Grrrrr. I need to get a back bone and just not go to these things any more. I have exactly £7.60 which will get me a basic cheese and tomato pizza, and I'll have to ask for tap water. Embarrassing! If anyone says anything they are liable to get their heads bitten off lol.
So - end of the financial month <finally> and am overspent and less than overjoyed lol.
Kat you are right. I need to surround myself with people who understand and are supportive. Most of all I need to learn to say 'NO' and work on my self-control!!!

Thanks Kat for the nerves - mine are nearly all gone but I do feel calmer today thankfully! A sfd here. Just got back from middle earth with my builder friend - we would need to put a doorway through to link a couple of rooms and its possible which is fantastic. If it wasnt then it would be game over! Another hurdle jumped. Cant believe its 11 days since I was there last - Ive done so much since then it seems like a lifetime ago!
Got them coming to do our EPC and measuring rooms tomorrow morning at 9am - this way if our chap falls through we can be on the market at the start of next week. Praying this wont be needed. The vendor and I get on really well - she's nice and Ive just had a lovely glass of elderflower cordialAnyway we will keep at it and see where we get too - it feels right just got to pray and hope and pray a bit more!!
Work is proving to be a very calming influence!! All good - will post when I have news!! Love LAGL xxDebt free on the 28/05/130
