That is so cool!
May I ask, how did you cut the wool and it not fray? Or stop it from fraying when you cut the squares? And did you sew together?
I'd love to make something like that but not sure how
Hi Pixichic
I knitted the squares individually and then sewed them together with chunky stitches in navy blue. I did not cut any of the squares at all.
This is the easiest thing in the world to make. If you can knit basic garter stitch (plain knitting) then you can make this - trust me.
When I get a moment I will post some instructions in a fresh thread - don't want to divert this one.0 -
I've been working on my Moo-said Cows this week - it's a bit of a messy one to do but great to see the finished items all lined up :-)

I am Petite size so I find a lot of strappy t-shirts are too long, sometimes by 6inches or so! Any ideas how I can shorten them but keep the pretty hem that they come with?0

Latest make of mine.
I've done three sets of these for a friends wedding as her bridesmaids are in red. I'm also doing another 3 sets in purple for a friend of hers who gets married in September!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -
Love the new crafty thread, and love this one too! Could spend hours looking at peoples makes! I make lots of bit and bobs but just finished some dolls, not sure if I need more posts to put pics on though?0

Finally, here is a picture. It's not quite as wonky as it looks in the photos as my son is pulling the top out sideways as he holds it up. Well, it is a bit wonky actually, but not quite that much!
It is nearly all garter stitch and mostly odd bits of double-knit from leftovers, charity shops, donations from friends and family etc. I taught myself to crochet (from a book) to do a couple of rows around the edge to finish it off.
Because I'm new to the forum the rules won't allow me to quote your post with the link to your photograph of your blanket/throw - so readers who haven't seen it will have to scroll back to see the piccie ......
It's absolutely FABULOUS!! I don't think I could stick at it for long enough to achieve such an enviable result, but I'm filled with admiration at your awesomeness!
Well done, you clever thing.
I'm currently into Scrapbooking, big time. Daughter got married three years ago and I still have some secret photographs that daughter and son-in-law haven't seen from their wedding. So as it's their wedding anniversary soon, I'm putting together a decorative scrapbook of some of these photos and am going to give it to them as an anniversary gift.
It's a new craft to me (scrapbooking) and I wasn't certain that I'd 'get along' with it ... but I'm loving every second of it.
Does anyone else scrapbook?Remember: however thin you slice something, there are always two sides to everything.0 -

Yay for the new crafty thread, we must use it or lose it! I think you need to write about 20 posts before you can post photos (keep checking as you get near that number, it may be less). Welcome to mse and look forward to seeing your makes.I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -
Great idea for a thread!
I'm into a bit of everything really. I started making jewellery whilst I was at uni, then moved on to card making with the odd bit of scrapbooking, and now I'm *really* loving sewing. I taught myself so I probably do lots of things in not quite the way they should be done, but never mind! This is an idea of the kind of things I make as I always have lots of half finished projects on the go.
