I made a flotilla of swans as table decorations for the Christmas season last year. the swans are made using my embroidery machine. I am working on reindeers for this year.

Finally, here is a picture. It's not quite as wonky as it looks in the photos as my son is pulling the top out sideways as he holds it up. Well, it is a bit wonky actually, but not quite that much!

It is nearly all garter stitch and mostly odd bits of double-knit from leftovers, charity shops, donations from friends and family etc. I taught myself to crochet (from a book) to do a couple of rows around the edge to finish it off.

    That is so cool!

May I ask, how did you cut the wool and it not fray? Or stop it from fraying when you cut the squares? And did you sew together?

I'd love to make something like that but not sure how :o

and finally im planning on making my daughter a little knitted dress i saw online.

i've made all kinds of bits and pieces recently but i'm most proud of this dress i made! i made the pattern myself too! and the fabric is 100% cotton and was a bargain £1/meter in the off cuts bin at the local fabric shop!

  • We have some seriously cleverly crafty people here! Loving these.

I was made redundant in Feb and being that bit older so far have not been able to get back into the IT type role I had before.. So to keep busy I am making all my friends candle holders from some porcelain clay I have had for ages and not done anything with!
