Yet again you have shown that all you can do is get personal.

No I'm not an expert on law, but I am IOSH qualified (missile quickly googles IOSH). And any employer who allowed their staff to be put in a dangerous situation of allowing their staff to drive on blues, without any training, would be negligent, and could be open to prosecution.

Anyone with even limited health & safety knowledge could work that one out.

I should point out that it is you who has taken this thread off topic by your irrelevant insulting comments. Your opinion with regards to amount of training blue light drivers receive, which is based on your complete lack of knowledge, is irrelevant to the thread.
Need I point out it is you who started and continue with the name calling. Not only toward me and not only on this thread. :A

I do know what NEBOSH is, congratulations on passing. The employer is required to carry out a risk assessment and introduce measures to mitigate the risk to as low as practicable. Not what you have said.

Congratulations on passing blue light course. You ought to know a police driver should not tail gait as described by OP (other poster)

As you have previously admitted, you have no knowledge of my training, experience or qualifications. :)

Need I point out, it was you who started this dialogue, with your insulting comment on my first post and continue with the irrelevant P.issing contest.:A

Again you seem to find it easy to make things up as you go along. I don't see where JC insulted you on your first post, in fact it was you who started making insulting and crass statements from the off. And as far as p>>>sing contests are concerned, we've all made logical argument based on either experience or informed opinion yet you dismissed these outright trying to give the impression you come from a position of knowledge only to to be found wanting when asked to back up such claims. The only contest you and your mate smashingyour... have been involved in, and won by a country mile, is the one to take this thread completely off-topic and embarrass yourselves in the process.

I consider this thread closed as there's nothing further to gain in continuing in a discussion with a couple of trolls and wind-up merchants such as you two.

Oh contraire, I have never dismissed anyone's opinion. I have never claimed knowledge, experience or qualification. I have stated my opinion and justified my view.

This is not a contest ....... at least not for me. This is not the first comment you have aimed at me, but the only one I have chosen to respond to. I have avoided responding to name calling. I am glad to hear you will stop.

  • Not at all, I've been blue light qualified for about 20 years, and still drive on blues now. If I was a health & safety man then I would be NEBOSH qualified.

Have you never heard of people gaining other qualifications that will assist them in their profession?

As you have failed to disclose what you do, how do we know it assists you?

It seems your "opinion" is based on ignorance.
Do you know what training police officers receive before being allowed to drive a panda? Those of us who do, call it barely adequate not "extensive"

It has been covered if you read the posts. The police officer would most likely have planned to use the bus lane. But when the OP moved into it, then they would have had to change their plan.

I think you need to read up on the exemptions, because you have only covered half of them.

    Oh dear.
No driver would ever plan to use the bus lane as anything but a last resort as it's so dangerous to do so. We can't possibly know what he planned top do with the op from the tiny amount of info given
I suggest you look at your legal exemptions, as you seem to think we have more than we do.
In law, it's very limited, but in reality the local authorities don't prosecute for most things.
I did try googling, but very hard to find surprisingly. all I could find was this, which confirms what i'm saying.
