Hence the need for education and enforcement of those who chose to ignore it.
Yes people do need to be educated. In fact it's people who haven't been educated who cause delays in emergency vehicles reaching their destination.
However, as I mentioned earlier, most local authorities actually make exemptions for vehicles who move into bus lanes to make way for emergency vehicles. So many local authorities aren't helping matters.
If people pull onto hard shoulders and end up blocking an emergency vehicle though, they could in theory be prosecuted. Especially as in many cases those people do so without using their mirrors, causing emergency service drivers to have to slam on their brakes. It seems that at least one person (often more) does this each time I have to pass stationary traffic on the hard shoulder.0 -

Will you stop fishing to try and find out who I work for. I'm not going to tell you.
Just because the advice given by one police force doesn't actually say 30mph, doesn't mean that others don't.
We can all use google as you are doing. But you can't access training notes for many emergency services, because they are on secure intranet.0 -

I do and yet again you fail to back up what you claim.
Happy debris collecting on the strip, I'll give you a wave next time I pass.0 -

What information have I posted that is incorrect?
And in case you didn't know, there is no reason whatsoever to back up each comment made in forums, especially for comments that aren't important to the thread.
You have been posting incorrect information ever since you joined this thread, and you haven't backed any of it up. But have I continuously asked you to back it up?
If as you seem to imply, you work for the police on one capacity or another, then you would know that what I have said is correct. Just because you don't have access to the correct information, it doesn't mean that you are right, and others are wrong. It means that you don't know what is right.....get it?
