    Afternoon all :hello:

(((Shez))) - sorry to hear your news. Don't worry about telling us, that's what we're all here for.

Just been to pay in some £2 coins and coppers! It's nice to get them off my hands and see them adding up in my account. The £2 coins are going towards next year's car tax, which worked really well this year. ;) The coppers are going towards the deposit on a house - so that's one bit of gravel bought for the garden then.

I also visited Tesco. I don't know why I put myself through it. I forget every time :wall: It was full of people who have evidently just been put on planet earth and stop in the middle of the aisle/abandon their trolley etc. I felt myself getting more and more stressed. So the positive outcome was that I only got exactly what was on my list and spent a grand total of £12.03. :D

I've just sorted out a wedding present for some friends who are getting married this summer. They have an "alternative" gift list - ie things like an organic veg box for a week, a cookery book - as well as the "shop" one at Debenhams. So, I've ordered the James Martin Desserts book via The Book People (£6.99 and I found a code for free postage  AND got cashback via a site). I'm also getting them a veg box for a week AND possibly some plates so they have the ingredients for a meal.

Must dash as I've got some planning to do for next week and we're away this weekend in London.

    Love the new site:D

Mouth still pretty sore, guess i have to wait til the antibiotics to kick in:rolleyes:

Have decided where we are going camping, up to grannies hailen hame in dornoch (sp?) there will be stuff to do onsite as well for kids, just need to book and organise camping stuff now!

Made bread last night, made more banana bread too, very yummy:D

    Hope everyone is well

    Kyle

    Kyle,

We go to Grannies Hailen Hame every year in Embo, the beach is fantastic, the site has pretty good facilities, the clubhouse could do with a touch of Stardrops around the place, but other than that its great, take as much stuff as you can, the Costcutter shop onsite is fairly expensive, but in the wee town a few miles down the road, there is a Spar (I think it is a Spar), who do fantastic Black Puddings, the best I have ever tried. Enjoy, we went in April this year (we have been for the last 10 years) and I am sure you will enjoy it as much as we do.

I wish I was coming with you!

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello: Hello!

Lovely colours on the new look site, so much easier for my tired eyes to cope with! :T

Late on parade today as the morning was spent at the dentist (again) going to be a long haul for all the treatment and many pennies:rolleyes: All on top of oh's bad news!

Had a lovely time looking at the farmers market and managed to get some asparagus as a treat! Also topped up supplies in Poundland (teabags, dried milk, oj and cleaning materials)

Shez - (((Hugs))) sometimes these things can be for the best, on tuesday oh was told that his job was being downgraded to save the dept money but so hurtful after all the work he had put into the job, anyway at least now he won't have the stress that went with it! Hopefully you will find something better soon that is also less stressful. In the meantime enjoy this time with your family and don't forget we are here to listen so vent if you need to, we all do!;)

Off to see friend in hospital tonight, she is naturally very depressed having lost more than 50% of her sight and the use of her legs on top of all the other problems. I just don't know what to say to her anymore she is so bitter (understandable) sometimes all I can do is hug her and let her cry it out. Anyone have any experience here as I am feeling particularily useless at the moment and want to be able to help more.

Sorry folks guess that is my vent for the day! :o

    (((Hugs))))

Shez - So sorry to hear about your job - but you seemed to be unhappy there for quite a while with all the deciet going on......something better will come along.

Managed to do the first coat of paint in DD2s room, looking very lilac now but the paint smell has given me a crashing headache.

Just checked quidco and had a payout of £105 today :j £80 of that was for something we never even had (applied for a loan as the rates were more favourable than our current one - but they changed the rates so we didn't go ahead) More fool them for paying out!

Enjoy your Friday evening all - I've got a bottle of wine and veg on the sofa planned......might even be a devil and have an icecream!

Hi everyone...oooohhhh posh new site, very to the left!

I haven't read the thread yet but will later when I can get back on the pc (need to fight for it here).
Hugs to anyone having a bad day.
Hurray :j to anyone having a good day.

I didn't get on here yesterday as I finally sat down at the pc at 9:05pm...and completely forgot about the shutdown! We had a busy time yesterday. After packing the girls off to my parents for the day/night we hired a carpet cleaner and I tackled our mucky carpets. It was like an episode of 'How clean is your house?' and I'm just glad I wasn't being filmed as the water coming out of the carpet was disgusting. :embarasse
Anyway we now have a lovely wooden floor in the hall and clean carpets, although I don't know how long they'll stay clean.

The weather here is lovely and I've managed to get all of my washing dry, just got to iron it now. We managed a bike ride today with the kids and I even had to put suncream on all of us!
For tea we're having hm (frozen) chicken and leek pie, roasties, carrot and swede followed by butterscotch angel delight with flaked chocolate on the top. The bm is on and I've also made a poor man's mousse for the first time so hopefully we'll have that tomorrow.
Must go the tea is ready.
    Have a good evening.

    Evening All

(((hugs))) for Catznine and your friend.
Also ((((hugs)))) for Shez. Every cloud has a silver lining - cliche I know but so true - your family must definately be appreciating the hm goodies.

Lovely weather here today, both DD & DS had friends round, DD's friend is staying over. Have to be truthful and say that am truly sick & tired of kids voices at the moment. Mine and OH family arnt great at babysitting and I really cant wait till Monday. Seems to get worse every holiday.

Anyway enough moaning, have done a massive tesco online shop which is coming tomorrow, just about to log back on and add some things Ive forgotten. DS has football training and DD needs to complete her homework when her friend goes home. My aim is going to be to clear the washing basket and then chill for the rest of the weekend as the weather looks like its going to be hot! Yahay at last.

Going go now and hunt down some chocolate.
