    Morning all :D

kyle - Glad you're getting it sorted

    Queenie - Silver! PMSL - That's how I describe cars :D

Well nothing much happening we me today accept w**k. I'm doing the deed Monday when everyone is back in so I'm going to need all the luck you can muster as I'm still feeling a little wary about the decision. Anyway, loads to do at home this weekend as the weather isn't set to be that great so hopefully I will finally finish the ironing! and I need to have a good clean through as well as a mass clean out of the cupboards / freezer etc as I have no idea what we have and haven't got in!

Hope you all enjoy the last day of half term before the LO's go back and no doubt I'll beback later for a catch up but in the meantime take or leave the :grouphug: as needed.

    Morning everyone,

Got a busy OS day today, so posting early.
(Wow, you stay away for a couple of days, and the site changes colour!!! Do you think Martin was missing me??? ;) )

Anyway, got this email, and thought I would share:-
    The One Flaw In Women

By the time the Lord made woman,
He was into his sixth day of working overtime.
    An angel appeared and said,
"Why are you spending so much time on this one?"
And the Lord answered, "Have you seen my spec sheet on her?
She has to be completely washable, but not plastic,
have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable
and able to run on diet coke and leftovers,
have a lap that can hold four children at one time,
have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee
    to a broken heart
    - and she will do everything with only two hands."

The angel was astounded at the requirements.
"Only two hands!? No way! And that's just on the standard model?
That's too much work for one day.
    Wait until tomorrow to finish."

"But I won't," the Lord protested.
"I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart.
She already heals herself when she is sick
AND can work 18 hour days."

The angel moved closer and touched the woman.
"But you have made her so soft, Lord."

"She is soft," the Lord agreed,
"but I have also made her tough.
You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."

"Will she be able to think?", asked the angel.

    The Lord replied,
"Not only will she be able to think,
she will be able to reason and negotiate."

    The angel then noticed something,
and reaching out, touched the woman's cheek.
"Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model.
I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one."

    "That's not a leak,"
    the Lord corrected,
    "That's a tear!"
"What's the tear for?" the angel asked.

The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy,
her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love,
her loneliness, her grief and her pride."
    The angel was impressed.
    "You are a genius, Lord.
    You thought of everything!
    Woman is truly amazing!"

    And she is!
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
    They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
    They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
    a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left .
They know that a hug and a kiss
    can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colours.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
    They have compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR OWN WORTH.

Ladies, be proud of who you are, and gentlemen, give the women in your life plenty of hugs - they'll be returned a thousand-fold.

Have a great day everyone :D

Ooh - Dornoch Kyle. I love that place. I like to swan around and pretend I'm in a Rosamunde Pilcher novel. I'm sure "Winter Solstice" is set there, even though it's given a different name. Enjoy your camping. Hmmm - never thought of camping there - mum and dad used to have a caravan on the black isle and we would go there. The caravan was grotty but the place was fantastic. Enjoy - hope your mouth's better by then.

Queenie - that is sooooo organised.

Lovin' the new site. It's like someone scrubbed it clean (was it Stardrops Martin?)

Well, wednesday wasn't my best day. Went to Doctor in the morning - and she wasn't interested in me. Told me I was worrying about nothing - I kinda knew that, but you never know when to worry and when not to. I used to take everything in my stride, but then something dreadful happened a couple of years ago and I always think "What If I'd mentioned to someone that I'd not been feeling great?" You just can't win.

Then I totally messed up my interview - I mean totally. I was saying stuff and almost looking at myself from their point of view and thinking " What are you on girl? " Ho hum. It's all good experience. And I should get feedback on it all.

Off to collect my "FitFlops" from the sorting office. They're a bit like MBTs (but a LOT cheaper) in that they're supposed to help tone up your bum and thighs as you walk. Hmm. We'll see.

take care all and have fun

    Good morning everyone,

First of all, my dd, Eilidh, has asked me to say thank you to all you lovely people who wished her a happy birthday on Monday. She was really touched to see so many people mentioning her. So thank you, from both of us.

We had a fabulous time in Scotland but now need another holiday to recover.

Back to w**k today but the boss is out all day so at least I can work at my own pace.

    Queenie enjoy your new car.
ladygrim I think I will print off your post as it's so true, we do forget just what we are capable of.
kyle hope your mouth starts to feel better soon.
Aussie enjoy Wales - it has some very beautiful scenery.
PenPen enjoy your time with your DSis and family.
((((hugs))) to all those who need one for whatever reason (I haven't been able to read all the threads this week so don't know what I have missed).

Edited to say: Peem your post reminded me that you mentioned your sister is also called Eilidh. XDH and I chose it because we were Scots living in England and wanted a Scottish name for our baby. I liked it because it wasn't a run-of-the-mill name. She just smiles sweetly when people call her Eyelid - still, most people remember her because of it.

    Have a fabulous Friday. xx

    Morning Everyone

I'll try to navigate around this new site later, but just popping on to say hello.

Glad you enjoyed Adsa AMIE I may find time to do something similar once I retire! 20 more work days to get up, but who's counting :rotfl:

Enjoy your new car Queenie the wait on diesel cars when starting depends on make/age. You wait until the "Thermocouple" light goes out before you fire up if it is that type. My Passat - you don't have to wait it works just like a petrol one, but our old Xantia we did.

(((Hugs))) to Scuzz, P-P, Kyle(Hope your mouth is better) and anyone else feeling less than 110%

I considered the MR Breadmaker, it was in Makro, but not as cheap as was said on here yesterday, do the blades retract and not leave a great hole in the loaf? I looked in and couldn't work out how:o :o

Don't forget me when you get your eggs back Pen-Pen.

    Enjoy your Friday

    Morning Everyone!
Queenie Your new car sounds fab!
Amie Wish we had an Asda, our nearest is 15 miles away, although they keep hinting.......

Got a Chimney Sweep coming in a minute! My neighbour and I wanted our chimney re-rendered, turned out the render was the only thing holding it up! so it had to be rebuilt. Now all I get is rubble and dust coming down, along with twigs etc. So I decided to get it all swept.

Meeting a friend for lunch, then seeing my man this afternoon. Haven't seen him for TWO WEEKS:D

    Have agreat day all!

Morning All! Hope everyone is bright and breezy today. Wish I was! I was worried about over-feeding the kitten with the syringe of formula and getting it down his windpipe instead of his tummy. That and rolling on him in the middle of the night. Then woke up and realised that it was all a dream and that he was safely tucked up in his cage on the bedside table :o

Woke up to news that work to fix bath tap and immersion heater on my flat hasn't worked (I moved in with OH so rent out my place - 2 hrs away). Seems the bath leaks when it's emptied and is dripping into kitchen through ceiling. Must mean the workman dislodged the exit pips. AND the immersion doesn't heat up (so probably linked to wrong ampage). Arrgh. Means I have to stay trapped in house today until I can catch the workman on the phone to fix it. :(

Planning to go to lottie sometime today to try reclaim soil from weeds. Also need to do outside gardening here. AND taking kitten to friends for coffee (for me not him) so he gets used to children. Busy busy. Wish I felt livelier!

Have a good day folks - (hugs) to anyone that needs them.

Site's looking great - me thinks somepeeps at MSE towers have been working very hard - Well done them!!

Queenie - Enjoy your new car - has it got a name yet? We always name our cars, depending on the number plate....last one was WOJ - wojjer!! Your inventory sounds great too - I'm hopeless on exel - I did get a beginners book last year but DH keeps intervining - his whole job is based on using parts of exel that I never knew exisited so he keeps telling me I'm doing it wrong.

Peem - Sorry the interview didn't go as planned and the docs visit, enjoy your fitfops though - never heard of them.

Hugs to those in need today.

A bit grey here this morning but nothing major planned so it can rain all it likes. A freecycler came to collect the bed last night so I can now start washing down paintwork in DD's room ready to decorate next week....will draft DD's into help today.....might even start the painting if all goes well.

Remebered to get a chicken out of the freezer yesterday so will put that in the SC later with some wine and veg, did mash last night and made double so will heat that through to go with it.

Hope you all have a great day.

    Good morning everyone,

Peem - i agree, had been sat here thinking of how to descibe the new site, and 'clean' sums it up perfectly!!!!

kyle - hope the anti bs kick in soon xx

scuzz - glad you are sounding brighter today, and that you have some days off - you work so hard, i hope you get chance to relax and enjoy it xx

Queenie - enjoy your car, another one who knows a car by the colour here!!! (mine is a big black one!!!)

((HUGS)) to anyone ive missed out, or who needs one - ive had a lie in and although i have just read everything, my brain is still like jelly!!!!

Well, i have a surprise day off today, the LO who was due is staying with her grandparents today, so its just my 2 and me!!! Has meant a lovely lie in and ive just had my cuppa and im still in my pjs!!! I have put the WM on (DDs bedding today) as its beautiful outside, i do hope it stays this way, my garden is enjoying the rain but im not - im def a 'hot weather' person.

Not many plans for today now tho, do want to go to Mr Ts later, i also managed to do my freezer inventory yesterday, so i know exactly what i have/havnt got now, and im going to make use of my 'spend £50, get £7 off' voucher i received in the last mailing. Was meant to have done Tescos yesterday, but got waylaid with the freezer, so today it is!!!

DSs friend is meant to be sleeping over tonight, but i still need to speak to his mum to arrange it properly, think i will stock up on crisps and popcorn, that and the football tonight and i think we will be ok.

Right, think im going to have some breakie and another cuppa.
    Have a lovely day everyone,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
