Ooh! Loving the new site!
Good morning everyone. I'm really looking forward to today. It was my mum's 60th birthday in February and for one reason or another we haven't all been able to get together at the same time to celebrate and today's the day. We're just going to have a play with the children then all go for a meal together. I can't wait. And someone else doing the cooking doesn't sound like a terrible thing. LOL
I just want to whizz round and make the place look presentable before they arrive and I have to remember to buy the new tax disk. I managed to haggle my old insurer down to beat my best quote on confused.com by a fiver so I didn't have to bother moving insurer. Other plans include making appointments for us all for check-ups at the dentist, downloading some photos and getting them sent to my friend who hasn't met the baby yet and phoning my elderly relatives in Scotland to let them know we're visiting next week.
All in all, lots of fun to be had. Not too shabby here!
Have a lovely day. xMay all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

Morning everyone
Wow, this new site is great (once you have worked out where everything is )
Congratulations on the new car Queenie, don't forget to go the long way home so everyone can see it :rotfl:
Made the pepper, carrot and parsnip soup off the recipe thread, and it is gorgeous, also made some bread to go with it, so that's lunch. Maybe my new Morphy Richards BM will arrive today and I can make a cake.
Mixed grill for tea, so must remember to get some oatcakes - for anyone never tried a staffordshire oatcake, you have missed a real treat.
Nice day here, blue skies and lots of sunshine, so off to peg out the washing.
Have a good day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

Queenie-How do I do an Excel doc......
I've made up a very basic spreadsheet, listing four columns (Larder - Storecupboard - FridgeFreezer - Freezer) Each column has been been divided up, depending on the item and put in aisle order (supermarket aisles). Under each subsection, they have been sorted into alphabetical order. Next to each list, I've put how many of each item I have - these will be ticked off/reduced as they are used.
When it comes to using it as a shopping list - I'll simply filter the items using the criteria of <1 .. then print off the remaining entries that I *do* need to buyAnd they'll already be in aisle order, and storage area's
Hope that makes sense.
GR - aww, have a wonderful day!

Morning Amie399 just so you know you are not alone I once spent two and a half hours in the Walmart at Bristol. Came away with some fab bargains. Glad the site is up and running as I couldn't get back to sleep after OH got up at 5.45am so I need something to do, as I don't think the neighbours will appreciate me hoovering at this time in the morning.
Hugs to you all that follow, have a great da:j yDFW Nerd 410:T

Ooooh look at the fancy new site.......:D
Working from home today so will sneak in some housework and baking as well as some ice cream making. Been looking after a friend's chickens all week and have been 'paid' in eggs so need to use them up as too many to eat in one go.
Hope everyone has a good day - hugs in advance to those in need of one.0 -
morning all:)
Queenie - Happy Car Day!!
Gingham - Sounds like you are going to have a lovely day with your family:)
I usually take friday as my day off, but its obviously half term so I wont be doing my usual friday thing with my mates, instead i think i will do a bit of housework, some baking and probably tackle the school uniform ironing pile! Monday is an inset day for ds1 and 2 but ds3 is back to school and dd at nursery.
brekkie - cereal/toast
lunch - sarnies (fridge use up/soup
dinner - just little two and me for tea tonight so will probably be chix nuggets/waffles/beans for them and j potato for me with something?
not much else to report, might do a storecupboard inventory like queenie suggests or veg and read a book lol

Hello
I did post last night but it must have been when the site just got closed. We are in Alston atm and leaving here for Wales after brekky. Yesterday we dropped off to see Falkirk Wheel which DH was amazed at. Must be a blokey thing. Then we trooped around Hadrain's wall for a while. Midway the sky opened up. As we were sprinting back to the car, hail started  ouch.
GR Enjoy your day with your Mum. Sounds wonderful.
Queenie I didn't really understand the spreadsheet layout (doh) but it sounds a great idea. Happy car day.
Amie Shopping is very therapeutic
