First time I've used this and loving it.
Used it for a carvery for 2 yesterday (Crown Carveries) and 2 x carveries, 2 x soft drinks, 1 x unlimited ice-cream came to £10.75 (used the 15% off voucher) and will be £5.75 once I get that £5 back.
Popped into Premier Meats and got 3 packs for £10 (steak, chicken fillets and cod), so £5 for that when I get the £5 back.
Just downloaded a few £5 coupons for the Spirit Group and will pop into a few of their pubs for a meal before it ends. Approx £15 spent there will come to £5'ish.
Loving it, loving it, loving it.
Crazy for missing it last time though!!
I'll look for the next one if it returns.
Fantastic for those with the Oyster Card.

Shops Which Offer Oyster Top Ups
1. Kelway News Ltd Building 1000, Royal Business Park, West Wing, Dockside Road, London E16 2QU
2. Costcutter 254 Barking Road, London, E6 3BA (advised they don't accept Amex and refused payment via Amex)
3. Sira Wines 60 Harold Road, London, E13 0SG
4. M.A.N News 69 Plashet Road, London, E13 0QA
6. Gerrys Food & Wine 336 Ilford Lane, Ilford, IG1 2LT (advised they don't accept Amex and refused payment via Amex)
7. C & Ma News Spot 170 Richmond Road Ilford IG1 1JT
8. Rupal News 531 Barking Road, London, E13 9EZ
9. Amy Green Gate Store 12-16 Green Gate Street, Plaistow, E13 0AS
Meat
1. Halal Meat Market 397 Green Streeet, London, E13 9AU (this place definitely accepts AMEX as I went there during the last Shop Small promotion)
2. Iman Halal Ltd 319 Green Street, London, E13 9AR (last time I checked minimum spend was £20 to use AMEX)
3. A1 Halal Meat & Poultry 168 Plashet Road, London, E13 0QT
4. Ibraheem Halal Meat 415 Ilford Lane, Ilford, IG1 2SN (refused to accept payment via Amex & advised they don't accept it)
(Asian) Groceries
1. Mina Stores 274 Green Street, London, E7 8LF
I've updated my list ^ and bolded the retailers I've been to which don't accept Amex. I've been into a total of three shops and all of them have declined to accept Amex and wouldn't try putting the payment through.
I hope this helps someone.0 -
Like xshootingstarsx, I thought I'd share outlets that will top up your Oyster card with Amex:-
Compton News, 48 Old Compton Street, London, W1D 4UA
Jasmine News, 93 Cowcross Street, London, EC1M 6BH
Bottle & Basket, 187 Waterloo Road, Waterloo Road, London, SE1 8UX
Crighton News, 8 Russell Place, London, SE16 7PL
Bow Supermarket, 163-169 Devons Road, London, E3 3QX
they all charged 50p extra (even Bottle and Basket, where No Future wasn't charged extra - must be better looking and more charming than I am!), and the last one (Bow Supermarket) a full £1 extra
I have emailed Amex every time a store has refused the card or added charges, and they have compensated me for it...I wonder if it's getting this sort of information that is valuable enough for Amex to run these promotions?
I was also given a link to a (rather detailed) form where one can inform Amex of such issues:-
http://www.americanexpress.co.uk/cm_cardacceptance
What email address did you use please as I lost out as the shop wouldn't accept American Express and made a bit of an issue with me about the shop small deal I quoted!0 -
Hi - I'm an additional card holder on my husbands account, does anyone know if we can both use our cards at the same retailer and both get the £5 back? Had a look on previous posts but couldn't see anyone confirm this. Thanks.0

If they're different numbers, I think you can.0

I should've said it's definite really; we did it and the account has been credited with 2 x£5.0 -
