I cant believe they laughed like that! How rude! I feel cross on your behalf, mind you being grumpy and cross seems to be my thing at the moment!! Glad your feeling ok though, dont think the heat is helping any of us!
Be nice, Im still in wired, dont feel comfortable in non wired although nursing bras are non wired, weird i know! Probably should have un wired by now though!!0 -
Hi Sam, no I didn't get checked out in the end I just thought I would see how it goes and nothing too much has happened since then apart from some braxton hicks so I think I'm ok. I think I was just awfully sweaty under my giant bump haha!
I know what u mean about sitting, I have to sit like a man now or it just presses too much, skirts above knee length are definitely off the cards until baby is born!
I got into the lift yesterday and 2 women from another company in my building laughed at me! Saw me, didn't say anything, then burst out laughing! I said to them in quite a serious tone it's not funny. They tried to act interested afterwards, asking me due date etc but I was already annoyed by this point lol
Hope everyone's ok x

Had my 32 apt with the consultant today, it was a waste of time tbh!
Checked bump position quickly and vaguely listened for a heartbeat, then said your mw will look after u, see u in labour!
And that was it.....
Dh has forgotten i had an apt AGAIN..... Despite numerous reminders over the weekend, ive had a text this morning about the cat, and thats it! I will not remind him or text him to let him know how it went, when he finally remembers he can know!! Grrrrrrr!!Still here..... but working on that!0 -

I'm the same - I bought non-wired nursing bras from mothercare which feel slightly more supportive than some but it'll take a while to get used to I think.
Thanks for the sympathy guys - really all I was looking for lol. One of the girls in the office is off to ASDA for lunch so I've asked her to pick me up a tin of tomato soup, not that I'm milking this sick person thing
Got a bit of an awkward situation with a friend of mine. 3 of us worked together for abour a year - Agata had a baby in May, I'm due in August and Claudia, bless her, wants a baby more than anything in the world. I think it was pretty hard on her when we both announced our pregnancies so close together but she was going through a divorce/re-marriage at the time so wasn't the best time for her to try. Things have now settled down and they're planning on trying for a baby now - but she seems convinced that it's going to happen right away. Now, I'm not saying that it won't happen for her right away, and I really hope it does, but she's late 30s and had an abortion in the past so I don't want her to get her hopes up and be devistated...but I don't want to be the one who goes "Well, y'know..this might not happen..." - any advice? My Debt Free Diary

I just had a call from the antenatal clinic asking why I hadn't gone for an appointment.. how does 'because I don't want to' sound lol.
I have explained to OH why I have not gone and he is quite confident that if there was a problem or a risk to the baby I am quite willing and able to make an appointment.. it was just for bloods doing that don't need doing they just expect people to follow guidelines to the letter.. I have a few bizarre antibodies which 'could' cause an issue for the baby at a certain level.. which we are nowhere near.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I'm glad you guys think so too, I thought I might be overreacting. I could kinda get on board with it from people I know making a joke or something but I didn't even know these women!
I know I'm huge but come on haha :-)
I found a tiny tiny spot of blood today in my knickers. Haven't told dh, want to see what happens before I scare him.
It's probably actually nothing happening and just me desperately looking for symptoms to suggest I won't have to walk around like this for another 3 weeks lol come on baby I want to meet you now!0 -
Its a bit OTT and unneccessary to try and start describing the pain of childbirth but at the same time I think its useful for people to hear a range of stories as like you said childbirth is different for everyone and nobody can predict what will happen.
IMO relaying only the positive experiences makes women who dont have such an experience feel like a failure if things dont go that way for them.
Sorry, I beg to differ.
I see no point whatsoever in relaying gory birth stories. My sister was desperate to tell me the gruesome details of her first birth, and each time she started wittering on I'd just say 'I don't wnat to hear it thanks'.
The birth you have is the birth you have. There is little you can do to change the outcome. You can write the most amazing birth plan in the world, want a water birth/no drugs/hypnobirthing whatever, and it can fly out of the window in 5 seconds flat and you're begging for whatever they've got in the phamaceutical cupboard!
I guess I think if you want to hear other people's birth stories then you can read about them or ask, but women who think they are hero's in some way for having given birth and want to embelish the story as much as possible for effect, just get up my nose!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
My daughters labour was very very much the same as my first.. down to the timings.. though for her the few days afterwards were more traumatic.. the birth was pretty simple really.
I don't think it is helpful to anyone to hear the horror stories.. if you want those I have a few I can share.. there is a darn good reason I don't write mine out for anyone to read!! but again... you are focused on the outcome and the natural endorphins produced during labour give you a high anyway.. it is all relative.
I do firmly believe that if you go in relaxed and accepting that you will end up with a baby at the end of this painful road it is far less painful than if you are tense and frightened and feel unsafe. You have to have confidence in your bodies ability to get this person out and the staff to recognise when things aren't right.. it is a very very vulnerable position to be in.. and I don't just mean legs akimbo etc.. emotionally as well... passing the safety of your baby and your own health into the hands of someone else is a really big thing.. I simply cannot do it.
I don't get people trying to telling me their birth horror stories any moreLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
