Can't reschedule GTT, they are done at local GPs here and the bloods clinic is only on a Thurs am. (time booked off work too) has to be done 26-28 weeks. They had no appts left at 26 weeks when I made appt 3 weeks ago. 28 weeks I'm away on holiday. So it has to be this Thurs.

Morning ladies. PP sympathies to you. I am in a fair bit of discomfort myself. Walking is not fun and, yes I am going to say it..IT's TOO RUDDY HOT! My mum keeps telling me about the summer of 1976 when she was pregnant with my sister, and how awful it was/the roads were melting etc..I can now say I know exactly how she felt.

That bringng new mums back and giving a talk thing the NCT do, in my opinion is not a good thing.

That happened for my NCT group when I was pregnant with DS and to be honest it scared the living crap out of us . Most of the women wanted to embelish their stories of horror as much as possible, with one telling us childbirth was like 'imagine having someone smashing your bones one by one with a hammer':rotfl:

The NCT group leader had to tell her to stop as we all were turning pale.

Ridiculous..as if 1st time mums especially, need to be terrified by other womens over-dramatised birth stories. When it was my groups turn to go back and give the talk, I emphasised all the positive aspects and didn't go into any real detail. How exactly does it help?? Every birth is totally different.

Now then..should I worry? The office manager has just asked me how long I have left, and when I said 5 weeks she said 'oh goodness I would be very surprised if you go for another 5 weeks. Your bump is SO low!'.

She has had 3 kids herself so isn't a total novice, but doesd anyone think I should start carrying my birth notes to work with me?

    I'm so not ready yet!

Its a bit OTT and unneccessary to try and start describing the pain of childbirth but at the same time I think its useful for people to hear a range of stories as like you said childbirth is different for everyone and nobody can predict what will happen.

IMO relaying only the positive experiences makes women who dont have such an experience feel like a failure if things dont go that way for them.

Can I be all melodramatic this morning and say that I had the worst night ever last night? Woke up at about 4am needing to pee - felt sick but I put it down to the fact that I had hardly any sleep. Couldn't get back to sleep at all - I swear I fell asleep about 30 seconds before the alarm went off this morning.

Got up to make my mountain of ham sandwiches (as ye do) and thought the ham smelt funny so lifted it to smell it and had to run to throw up :( I'm 34 weeks dammit, I should not be sick at this point!

Feel like I've been run over by a truck this morning! Only 3 days of work left and I'm trying to do menial stuff that won't cost the company money if I mess it up :rotfl:

    Oh Claree what a rubbish night/morning you've had :(
    Hope it turns around.
My gag reflex is really bad, I'm still being sick at strong smells or even if I have a tickly cough (26 weeks) no fun.

I just got an unexpected parcel delivered and it turns out I've won a competition for a bundle of Fisher Price newborn toys! :j:j:j
3 soft activity toys, a swing, playmat and mobile! Amazing :money:
    that's made my day :D

Oh claree that's not good, Ive hardly been sleeping so can feel your pain there. My sicky feeling came back at about 30 weeks, has got a little better again now but certain smells still make me feel awful.

Oh poppy what a lovely surprise!! Bet you are really pleased!

Fluffy, thats a shame but best to get the test done, could you arrange another eve out with friends? I just dont have the energy in the evenings any more!

Baleb, how are you feeling? Did you get checked out? My bump was the same yesterday with a maxi on, bump was sitting so low i couldn't put my legs together when sat down, embarrassing!! DH thought it was funny though!

Hi Sam, no I didn't get checked out in the end I just thought I would see how it goes and nothing too much has happened since then apart from some braxton hicks so I think I'm ok. I think I was just awfully sweaty under my giant bump haha!

I know what u mean about sitting, I have to sit like a man now or it just presses too much, skirts above knee length are definitely off the cards until baby is born!

I got into the lift yesterday and 2 women from another company in my building laughed at me! Saw me, didn't say anything, then burst out laughing! I said to them in quite a serious tone it's not funny. They tried to act interested afterwards, asking me due date etc but I was already annoyed by this point lol

    Hope everyone's ok x

  • congratulations Poppy, what a nice surprise

Claree sorry to hear you are suffering. I think I'm going to be suffering and struggling at work too.

welcome to Flower, happy v day!

Baleb that's not very nice behaviour at all. Laughing at someone is nasty.

been for my 28 week appointment and got my whooping cough vaccine. We discussed non-wired bras. Is anyone starting to wear sports bras/ non-wired bras yet? I'm thinking it could help my breathing and prevent the start of heartburn.
