I don't get it, OH is the domesticated person I know (soooo much better than me!:p) yet his brothers and Dad are useless?! OH tried to brush it off as them not being used to having a pregnant woman to think about... but what about common courtesy when you're at someone's house and they've just served you a meal?! If I hadn't already been in trouble with OH for mentioning to his parents (when asked!) that the £50 they'd given us to buy dinner had barely even covered the meat (he was really embarassed because we shouldn't discuss money matters... but considering I've only got one proper pay day left before going on ML I reckon his family shouldn't have been expecting us to foot the majority of the £160+ bill on our own!) then I'd have said something but I thought I ought to bite my tongue for fear of upsetting OH even more! Grrr... expecting an hormonal preggo to be reasonable about all the little annoyances around Christmas is asking too much I'm afraid!
After my moan yesterday about sleeping terribly I was actually much better last night. Yay! Still woke up at silly o'clock but managed to wriggle about for a few minutes and got off to sleep again after not too long. Was lovely! If I could go back and speak to myself pre-pregnancy I'd tell myself to enjoy sleep because it gets ruined well before the baby even arrives!
Ellie, I'm on the hunt for nursing bras too, I'm half tempted to go for a granny style. I've been living in those granny type comfort bras for months and whilst they're ugly as sin they're soooo comfy!
Welcome Debs!
Really glad you got home in time for Christmas with little Inara, Amy!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Nursing bras - has anyone found any good ones which are a sensible price? I would prefer cotton to synthetic. I got measured in mothercare yesterday only to find that of hundreds of bra types in store they had only one single nursing bra in my size and it was frankly horrible. Grrrrr.:mad::mad:
Looking on John Lewis/Debs/HOFraser there are some which look like proper old lady bras, and some which look quite nice, but are £30 each... and given that I'd buy 2 day bras and a sleeping bra makes nearly £100
Sadly I think that is what it will realistically cost especially if you are a larger size. We had a talk from a bra fitting specialist and she highlighted that many of the pretty bras are not cotton so ill advised and the cotton ones tend not to be that bonny. I have budgeted around £100 for my bras.
Does your hospital not have a bra fitter linked to it? Ours does and she comes to the house to measure you or you can order online.
I have woken up with a horrid cold this morning and coughing is no joy.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Afternoon all, just popping in to catch up
outlaws, and my folks have all cleared away until the baby arrives now (not long!).
I had a terrible nights sleep last night, baby started really wriggling just as I went to bed she was moving her hands & arms around like they were going out of fashion, bucking her back and wriggling her feet. Had a panic this morning as her head has moved, but thankfully it now appears to be behind my cervix instead of in frontexactly where it's supposed to be as it's been really far forward up until now. Hoping this means she'll arrive soon as I'm starting to get impatient!

Hello all, glad to hear Christmas went well for most of you. Birdie can't believe your brother in law - looks like your hubby got his share of the sweet and nurturing genes :jMy brother is usually a lazy so and so (last Christmas, my mum eventually sat down at 4pm and he said, "Cheese toastie please mum!" and she got up to make him one  Mums and their sons eh?!)
Jox hope all ok with you, 33 weeks is a good gestation but I hope baby can stay put for you and at least be born in the right year :rotfl:Take it easy, lots of cuddles being sent your way x
Lily lovely to hear from you, hope little Clover is going from strength to strength and you'll be home with both little ones soon. I bet it is hard being away from your eldest so extra big hugs and good thoughts your way.
kerri anything to report?! Not long now! ETA: aaaah cross posted, guess you'll be walking like John Wayne now if her head is low! Another sexy trait of pregnancy ...
BZ wow that's great re engaged baby, hope you're getting plenty of rest.
Ellie re nursing bras - I only had three. I had one of these http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_152010536280_-1 which was ok but the cup was too moulded if you know what I mean so didn't fit great. I also had two of these http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_152010209580_-1 one in black and one in white and found them great. They aren't even too bobbly now (bearing in mind I fed DD until she was nearly 15 months old, and they were being washed nearly every day!) They are soft cotton and so comfy even for overnight. I was only a 34C though so can't comment if they'd be any good for better endowed ladies!
Rummer yes needing to budget for bras is a pitfall of bf'ing - it's not really free at all ! Especially once you factor in all the coffees and pieces of cake while out and about and needing to feedJojomamanbebe have quite a lot of nursing tops in the sale, and La Redoute have some half price nursing PJs :T

Rummer - is 36DD a larger size?
My whole life I have been a 34B so to be honest it was a bit of a shocker when the mothercare lady told me I'd be a 36DD!! Never dreamed I would get so far down the cupsize alphabet without surgery :eek: (but I'm pretty sure she is correct as I'd currently in a C which is getting rather snug, I tried a D which fits nicely now so I'd have to go to DD to leave room for when milk comes in.) Weirdly they don't look much different to me... or maybe I have just forgotten what they used to be like!
I can't imagine what happens to your boob size if you are already something like a DD before getting preggers!!
Mincepiemonster - thanks for the recommendations. The second one looks ok. I think I might buy one pre-baby then take a trip to Debenhams and try some on once milk comes in as I can normally walk there in 20 mins. (currently a 40 minute waddle). Don't want to buy loads now only to find they don't fit once baby shows up.0 -
I think you will be ok for finding the right size in most shops sounds as if it was bad luck that there were none in at the time you went. I was an EE before pregnancy and I have made my way through many more letters of the alphabet since :rotfl: The only shop that had any bras in my size were Bravissimo and they only had two individual bras so limited choice.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

LOL MPM I've been walking like John Wayne for two weeks now anyway, it's just that she's dropped even lower. Although I am slightly suspicious today, my body appears to be having a clear out and I've had to run to the bathroom a few times...Going to make OH go for a walk shortly to see if that brings anything onDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

That all sounds promising Kerri
I decided at 39 weeks with my DD that I had had enough of waiting and I used every trick in the book to bring on labour and for whatever reason it worked and she came at exactly 39 weeks.
I am only 34 weeks but as my baby is quite large I look and feel much further on. Looks as if I will only have another two weeks to go but no dates as yet.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Lily and Amyfoo - Lovely to hear from you both. I hope you get to take Clover home soon Lily. Thanks for the update.
Jox & Rummer - Hope your little ones stay put for a while longer.
Kerri - Good Luck. Hope you LO doesn't keep you waiting too long.
BZ - Can't believe its almost time for you. Only seems such a short time ago you got your BFP.
I hope the ladies struggling to sleep manage to get some shut eye over the holidays.
The weather has been pretty dire here but we are counting our blessings that we haven't had it as bad as lots of other people. Hope you have all managed to escape the worst of the storms and floods.
afm. I have had a stinking cold since Christmas Eve that I don't seem to be able to shake. So much for the flu jab. First time in years I have had flu and its the only year I got the jab. Don't think I will bother again. Back to the hospital on Monday for the consultant and the diabetic clinic. Appointments are pretty close together so I hope everything is running on time. Packing my hospital bag tonight. Can't believe that I am 35 + 3 already.0 -

We had some flooding a couple of miles away but think it just affected some roads, think houses etc are ok thankfully. Other than that some very windy weather and rain but today is quite nice!
Have you actually got the flu or just a bad cold? I think if you had the flu you wouldnt even be able to type a message on here youd feel that awful so I hope not.
I remember my Mums friend said flu is when a £50 note could be a foot out of your reach and you wouldnt bother to get it - and I think shes right. Ive had it I think 2 or 3 times, and I lost about 7lbs in a week the last time, I was puking, hallucinating, high temp and could barely leave the bed let alone the bedroom. Apologies if that's how you're feeling and you're on your phone or something but hopefully its just a bad cold you've got because Id be terrified to have actual flu whilst pregnant.
I got my iron tabs from the chemist, on the packet it says take 3 a day but the dr has put the sticker instruction thing on the pack and it says take 2 a day, so perhaps Im not that anaemic that I need the full dose. I will talk to the midwife on Monday but take them until then as by then I should have an idea if they are really bunging me up or not too!0
