  • Jox, what a shock. I'm sure everything will be fine and wishing you the best of luck! X

Well no phone call yesterday or today from the hospital or midwife so hoping that means my GTT was clear. They did say id hear within 24 hrs so that's good news for Christmas! Can happily eat that cake now!! X

Last night I slept for 5 hours and woke up at 3.30am and at 6am the baby was monitored again, the consultants came round at 8am and said that we are taking it one day at time and baby will probably come in the next few days, it is so strange that my child who was supposed to be born in Feb 2014 could arrive in Dec 2013! I've got 2 weeks off work, supposed to go back on 6th Jan but could be a mum by then!

Baby is only 3lbs 3oz approx so will need to stay in neo-natal unit for a few weeks apparently. I'm so scared but the hospital team all seem to be so great, I just have to put my life and baby's life in their hands and hope for the best.....
What a shock! You're in my thoughts and prayers and I hope all goes as well as is possible.

Jox, I was in in similar situation with my son, he was born at 34 weeks after an induction due to reduced growth and there being next to no amniotic fluid surrounding him. They were estimating 4lb6oz but when he was born he was a hefty 5lb1oz so don't get too hung up on the size, they aren't perfect and the measurements being just a little out can effect the estimated size. He spent 1 week in neonatal and is now a strapping chap of 3½ who is taller than the average 5 year old and has the same size feet as his 6 year old cousin! Fingers crossed that everything works out for you :)

I also have GD and my baby is measuring small. My next scan is also Xmas Eve (I'll be 35weeks) if the weather doesn't stop us from getting there. Do you mind if I ask why they will deliver you early? I was told as long as the heart beat is strong and plenty of flow through the cord and the GD is under control they would leave him be. How early did you deliver last time?

Hope your scan went well today!

To be quite honest I don't know :o When I spoke with the consultant today she said that as long as the baby continues with the current growth schedule she would push me back to induction at 38 weeks. I'm still on 2 weekly scans as in my previous pregnancy my son stopped growing around about the same time as now and the amniotic fluid was very low. (see above!). He was induced at 34 weeks. She's only on the 14th centile at the miunte, but the growth rate is steady so nobody seems to be very worried.

Congratulations to Amyloofoo! Lovely name :) I'm in desperate need of ideas for girls names so will be eyeing up any that are posted on here :D

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Yes. Thank you for asking. He has had a growth spurt and is still small but following the curve so I feel much more reassured. I had the most experienced sonographer today and she said he looks small but healthy so I have stopped freaking out.:o

Fingers crossed you LO continues to grow at the same rate so she can stay in there a little longer.

Jox - How shocking for you. I hope your baby can stay put for a while longer and the staff are just being cautious. Very best of luck and stop doing housework woman, you need to rest.

Merry Xmas everyone:xmassign:. Take it easy and let others do the work;)

    Merry Christmas everyone! :)

I'm up early with DD1, but we're waiting for the grandparents to get up before she opens any more of her presents (she's already had her stocking).

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Jox what a shock! Hopefully at that weight baby will be fine though, someone I know just had their baby at 30 weeks but he was the size of a 28 week and was 2lb 1oz and is currently doing really well x
