    Congratulations Amy :j

After sitting smugly for weeks thinking that I had this sleeping through the night thing sorted I woke at 3.30am and I haven't been able to get back to sleep no matter what I have tried :o so I am now up writing Christmas cards for tomorrow.

We got good news at the scan today, although our boy is still measuring large he is following a steady growth path so hopefully he will last another few weeks safely where he is :D a great Christmas present.

The next few weeks I am going to spend relaxing and boosting my iron and vitamin levels so that I give my body the best chance to recover after the birth. I need to just enjoy the feeling of being pregnant instead of focusing on his arrival all the time.

Congratulations and well done Amyloofoo! Looking forward to seeing pics etc when you get home. What a wonderful Christmas present. :jETA Just seen your picture on the FB group - gorgeous! x

Faith2009UK I have consistently measured slightly below average (33cm at 36 weeks), the centile charts are just that - showing an average, which by its very nature needs people above and below it! As long as your bump grows fairly consistently it's fine. I think it was Kerri who apparently got a 7cm growth in a couple of weeks  - because the measurement can vary so much based on midwife's technique / position of baby etc

    37+0 today!!!

Amy- Congratulations! so so pleased she's here safe and sound :D shall i be the annoying one and ask if she's named after the firefly character? :p

Faith- my midwife said that as long as your bump measurements are tracking the curve on the chart, not necessarily on the curve but following the same pattern, they won't be worried. she also said it can be a couple of centimetres out due to baby's position - she thinks mine measures slightly larger due to little miss having a big posterior she likes to stick out

Mincepie - Congratulations on being full term! do you know if baby's engaged?

Rummer - pleased to here your little one can stay put for a few more weeks :)

AFM (and this is definitley not something i can share with the population at large lol)- had a terrible night of wind! went to bed and was feeling awful until i sat up to go pee and did a burp so loud DH could hear it from the otherside of the house with his headphones on :o so I've been burping and farting something awful all night. Felt right sorry for my DH- all he gets is me taking over the bed, passing gas loudly and smellily and using him as leverage to help me to turn. course, he was lovely and said he didn't mind that, it's just the very loud snoring he can't stand lol

and of course I've just asked Dr Google about my heinious wind and he tells me that it's a sign of baby engaging/impending labour 'along with diahorrea' like i've had since the night before... she's not cooked yet! i don't want her to be six weeks early like her big cousins and auntie! Hopefully she's just engaging to get comfy and will stay put til she's full term.

I'd also like the wind and diahorrea to stop so i can enjoy one of my christmas presents tonight - a romantic meal at my favourite restaurant with DH. and the big day itself tomorrow of course, been looking forward to mum's christmas dinner since boxing day last year lol

Congratulations Amy! Hope you can go home for Christmas Day with that best present ever x

TL that made me laugh, my DH isn't as nice though he cracks jokes about needing gas masks etc! But he's just as bad!

Also glad I can rely on you ladies, he told me last night that iron tablets are like horse pills! Then it clicked that he's never taken an iron tablet in his life so knew he was winding me up!
  • Love it TL! I am Mrs Trumpypants atm too... really sexy (!) Baby was head down but not yet engaged at last appointment, but apparently it doesn't always happen until onset of labour, especially with second babies. Being very honest though I think this baby will be late - I am nowhere near as big as I was with DD (she was 1 day early) and haven't really had any BHs or anything. Hope Little Lowe manages to hang in there a bit longer! :o

I've just seen Amy's daughter on FB and she's absolutely gorgeous.I'm a little jealous as I really want to meet ours now but she's obviously not cooked yet hmph.

As for measurements don't get me started...mw measured me 27cm at 34w, hospital measured me 31cm the same day. Mw measured me 33cm at 36w and still sent me for a scan even though is grown loads according to her measure!!! I've had 5 extra scans!!!!!
I'm on my phone so will catch up with you all properly insbit. My list of things to make before babe arrives is diminishing, going to start quilting get quilt in a minute and should finish it today. Here blanket should be finished tomorrow. Hoping she arrives before my mw appointment on the 2nd as I sooo don't want another scan lol. Meeting up with nct group for a drink today about 1ish and my mum is going to take some photos of my bump this morning.

If you don't log on until afterwards I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy relaxing new year. Hope your bumps and inlaws behave themselves :) xx

Merry Christmas one and all xxx
Congratulations Amy! Lovely news, hope you are recovering well. Gorgeous names, my niece is Elena Beth. :)
Took ages to drop off to sleep last night. Lots of movement from baby and had some period-like cramps too. Is that Braxton hicks? I don't really know what to expect! Did make me panic a little about there fact my hospital bag isn't packed yet! A job for this week in between festivities.
Yesterday we went to curtain warehouse and have two samples at home to choose between. My faves are green (colour of carpet) with white polka dots, the others are white/ cream with drawn pictures of London (buses, houses, pillar boxes etc) which are lovely but would be harder to match other things to. We also went to IKEA and had a mooch round. Bought a few odd bits including a little cube clock which doubles as a thermometer and stop watch depending which way up it goes. Less than four quid and handy for middle of the night feeding.
Today we've got sister in law over for the afternoon (giving in laws space to prepare for Christmas Day) so will do some more baby clothes sorting this morning and probably be watching a film, colouring, doing some crafting this afternoon! Hoping to Skype with sister and nieces in Australia tonight - their Christmas morning.
Sympathies to all the awkward side effects. I am a proper emotional wreck, can rarely get through a day without tears.

    Merry Christmas all xxx :rudolf:

Just had a very strange feeling. Was suddenly remembering this time last year, sneaking my new CBFM to my mum's for ttc tracking and using it on Christmas morning. Apparently I left one of the tester stick wrappers in the bathroom which my mum and sister found so were talking about it and my hubbie overheard yet no-one told me until after the pregnancy announcement in August. :) Although my sis thought it was a test stick and then forgot about it when no news came and my mum suspected I was just checking my fertility as I'd been married a year and turning 35 but didn't think we were trying yet until we had a house. So our announcement was still a massive suprise! Lol.

Bigzippy are you fine to take acidophilus during pregnancy as I stopped taking it each month after ovulating when ttc based on recommendations I read? So I never thought to start up again during the pregnancy.

So off to take the in-laws to afternoon tea at a countryside spa today. Have a lovely Christmas Eve ladies. :)
