What lovely news Lily :D I am sure she will grow oodles and loads so you can soon take her home.

Kerri the room sounds great! I ordered a lot of the things on your list so I will be interested to hear what works :rotfl: I also ordered a wee heap of montessori books through Amazon (all used and only pennies) so I am eager for them to arrive.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Congratulations!
Lily, so pleased to hear that your little lady has safely arrived - hope she has a very short SCBU stay and is able to be at home enjoying cuddles with you, DH and DS in no time. You're a very special and inspirational lady, I hope your recovery is as fast and comfortable as possible :grouphug:

Abis, so pleased that labour has started naturally for you and that your DH will be there to experience it with you. Hope things go smoothly for you and that you're soon cuddling your LO.

Kerri, enjoy your almost-mat leave and so glad you enjoyed your spa time away ;) Some of your projects sound very energetic, I wish I was able to do half as much! My mat leave appears to have become nap time :rotfl:

Squirrel, I desperately want to see some knitted nipple warmers! In my mind they're a wintery version of burlesque tassles :rotfl: I may be wrong but I would think the reason you're experiencing frozen nips is increased blood flow and sensitivity in the area so wearing a breast pad is probably a good idea. Also, have you been properly measured for maternity bras? I know my breasts were horrendously sensitive before I capitulated and realised I was going to have to buy a bigger size.

Fran, your NCT group sounds really nice - I'm surprised by the women only session though - the men were just made to squirm uncomfortably through ours!

Claire, I'm having a section basically because due to hypermobile joints and a badly broken-then-fused coccyx, they're unable to recommend any position for labour which doesn't risk a dislocation for me or baby getting stuck :o In all honesty, I felt like I could have had a vaginal delivery earlier in the pregnancy, but by this point I'm so tired and struggling with mobility (and baby is measuring so big) that I think things are probably better the way they are. I can't wait to have a definite date to meet her though :) There are some disappointments (for me, I know it's not for everyone) with a caesarean delivery, but I'm clinging to the positives ;) Hope you and LO are well and that the parentcraft sessions are better than you're expecting.

Lily I'm trying so hard not to cry with happiness for you right now! Not sure I'm going to be able to! I'm so happy for you!

Amy ah I see, sounds like it's the best plan then even with the disappointment for yourself. I don't think many people want a c section but I think the fact that it's controlled is a big positive. X
  • yay Lily, congratulations on your little one!!:j:j:j:j:j

And good luck Abi, hope all is progressing well and your baby doesn't make you wait much longer.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Lily - :j I'm so so pleased for you. Congratulations xxxx

Birdie - I'm sure they will have fun. I spent most of the afternoon either crying or trying not to cry once I'd said goodbye to mum. A bit of chocolate now I think. I'll be 36 weeks ish when they get back!
Glad your parents changed their plans!!

RE parentcraft - we've booked onto the NHS ones, start on 7th Jan and then we start our NCT ones in late Jan. We've never had much to do with babies & both feel pretty clueless! Sorry your experience wasn't great TL, don't blame you skipping the next one! fran - looking forward to finding out what your women only session is as we have one of those too!

I'm going on a tour of the maternity unit as I have a million and one questions about what will happen - I have GBS and need to go in when labour starts so want to know a bit more about it really. Otherwise, not sure I'd bother!

squ1rrel - yes!!! I have lovely leaky boobs too and my nipples are very painful when cold. I bought some Little Lambs reusable breast pads which I have found great in keeping them warm and catching leaking (sorry far tmi!). Got them here though as they are cheaper.

abis - thinking of you! Hope baby doesn't keep you waiting too long xx

I am so exhausted. I honestly don't know how anyone works until they drop!
First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/14 :D
