Squirrel, when you add Claire could you add me back onto the list as well? I seem to have dropped off along with you.

Fran-o that's the pram we've gone for, was really impressed with how easily it folded down and bits swapped over :)

Mrs Bunny they are far too cute :)

Be thinking of you Abis, tomorrow will be hard but Tuesday will be a whole new beginning :)

Lily be thinking of you too, hope the steroids really help and this might seem odd but I think your little one will have an advantage in that they know she'll be early so can prepare for her needs, whereas most of the time premature babies come as a surprise to everyone

Afm we've had a busy weekend, decorations went up today as I'm a big kid and love sitting next to a lit Christmas tree and DH has begrudgingly painted baby's room. He hates painting so it was a real testament of his love for little one lol
And it seems I'm getting to the stage I was slightly dreading-being able to see little lady move. She keeps sticking what I think is her head out so I can see a lump just under my ribs, looks really weird, so badly tempted to push it back in when she does lol
Busy baby day tomorrow- whooping cough jab in the morning, health visitor coming for an introductory visit in the afternoon then we have our first parentcraft class in the evening which DH is very nervous about as he fears there'll be 'audience participation' lol

TL your DH sounds just like mine. You should have seen his face when I told him I want to paint the spare room! Thing is the stairs and landing needs doing and it's a really high /awkward walls to paint above the stairs so he wants to just pay someone to do it - which will conveniently get him out of doing the basic room!

He also is not looking forward to our nct class. Waif til I book us on the parent craft one :rotfl:

He's very good in every area except those 2! Although I reckon he'll actually like the classes once we go.

I think birdie got the oyster too?

Seems like a lot of recommendations for it & I remember liking it in mothercare.

I can't tell what body parts they are but I can feel either I'm guessing a head or bum a lot of the time pushing out! Sometimes it's hurt a bit so I gently prod or put a cold hand there. Most of the time it's fine just had a few painful pushes!

Hi ladies I am sorry I posted and ran- just really struggling to find the time to get online! Little girl is called Chloe, she's 6 days old now I can't believe it! She is gorgeous I just can't stop staring at her. The planned section went amazingly well, staff couldn't have been friendlier and made me feel so relaxed. Chloe arrived with lots of dark hair just like her daddy. We had lots of skin to skin time which I enjoyed so much. We managed a couple of successful BFs before it all went a bit wrong with latching/ supply but I'm glad she got some. The Perfect Prep therefore has been a godsend I'm amazed how quick and easy it is. I really hope it doesn't break but I know from experience tommee tippee are good at replacing faulty equipment. Section recovery wise I've found it quite hard- I was soon walking etc and was discharged from hospital within 2 days (which felt too early but the MWs insisted) I'm still needing painkillers when they are due and I am amazed at the amount of things I just cannot do, I am improving though and can gradually do a bit more but I can really feel it if I do too much!

I will try get on laptop to upload a photo of my baby girl

Hope everyone is doing ok, not long now until you meet your babies! Treasure every second they grow up far too quickly! Xxxx

Good luck today Iceicebaby and LilyMay! :) Really hope things go smoothly for you both.

ETA: Of course, I mean tomorrow since it's only the 2nd! D'oh! :o

Thinking of you today too Abi. :)

So lovely to see you over here Claire! I've been slow for weeks too, OH thinks my waddle is hilarious, wish he knew how I felt when I'm walking sometimes so he'd have a little more sympathy! :p

I've decided that my little man gets stage fright. He'll be kicking away but the minute someone puts their hand on my to have a feel he stops and will only start once they've moved their hand again! OH has stopped trying to have a feel because he never gets anything. :o Last night I told him to lay his hand really gently on my bump and leave it there and he felt some kicks after a few minutes, but still nowhere near as strong as I usually get from him! He started to wriggle around afterwards though so I lifted my top up and OH watched the movements with a mixture of wonder and horror! :)

Glad to hear that things are going well with Chloe KScarlet! Beautiful name! :)

Had a day out in London with OH on Saturday, we'd booked the train tickets ages ago, before it was obvious that I'd be a bit useless but decided to go for it anyway. :) I was so impressed with how much I managed TBH and we had a nice time but I could have cried when we were trying to get back to the station at the end of the day as we'd been at the Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park which was so so busy they'd had to close Hyde Park Gate and Knightsbridge tube stations so we had to walk down to Sloane Square. I was just dragging myself along by this point and even gave OH my bag to carry as it was weighing me down, then the train was really busy so I couldn't get a seat (one woman tried to offer me hers but a load of people jumped on the train just as I was about to shuffle over to her and I couldn't get through.) :o OH is funny though as he was complaining about missing the Yorkshire air after about 4 hours there! ;)

  • Abis - Thinking of you today. Hope you have lots of support. Tomorrow will be brighter and hopefully you will have your new baby to cuddle:grouphug:

Scarlet - Congratulations once again. Hope you are enjoying every moment.

claire - Hi Claire. Nice to see you again. I am afraid I haven't kept up with the other thread but hope that the rest of your pregnancy is less stressful.

Good Luck to all the boldies and Lilymay & Iceicebabyfor tomorrow. As a first time mum I have no idea if knowing that tomorrow is definately the day is more or less stressful.

Will keep my fingers crossed that everything is a relaxed and stress free as possible for you Lily. Sending happy healthy thoughts.

afm. Had a lovely day out shopping with OH yesterday even tho it was packed. Bought the first few things for my hospital bag and now the stuff is in the bag I realise I'm going to need a much bigger bag:eek:
Also bought the paint for the babys room so we are going to start painting soon:D
My blood glucose was much better over the weekend so I have stopped freaking out so much:o

I forgot to add that OH's friend's wife had their baby boy on Saturday and he was 10lb8.5! He's bloody massive! She's tiny too so I've no idea how she carried/delivered such a big baby! Good news for us is that she's been in touch this morning to say that they've got a load of newborn clothes that they don't need as he's gone straight into 0-3 so we can have them! :) Trying not to freak out about the possibility of having a gigantic baby now though! :p

Birdie our baby has stage fright too. I've been feeling kicks for ages but DH only felt it Saturday morning!

Blimey that is a big baby!

I was 5lb 14, but think DH was around 9lb so hopefully we'll get something in between!

We both walked at 9 months though so we could potentially have a little rascal on our hands very early!

Thank you for all the well wishes. I really like what you wrote TL about tomorrow being a new beginning for us - it kind of makes a bit more 'sense' in my head somehow trying to think of it like that. :o

I'm doing ok today. Had a rubbish nights sleep though, lots of contractions and a very sore feeling tummy. Couldn't get comfy really. I think I had a bit of a gassy tum as well which baby kept pressing on so I was feeling awfully sorry for myself at one point!

I think we are just going to have a pottering day today and make things as easy as possible for when baby does arrive. Tis weird to think that tomorrow should be the last day (daren't say for definite in case there are no beds or something goes wrong! My hormones are far too fragile for more disappointment at the mo!).

Rummer - I would have been upset about the nursery not fitting in like I had planned it in my head too :o Did you manage to get it sorted so you are happy with it? I loved washing all the newborn stuff too - tis very exciting :j If only all washing and ironing was so exciting :rotfl:

Vic - glad things are all going well with Thomas. I've been reading on the newborn thread a little to try and keep up to date with yous all.

Claire - I was ever so naïve last time too - tis a much nicer place to be :o I could have opted for a C-section this time but I'd prefer natural if at all pos. DD came out with her arm on the side of her head last time, plus I had a trainee midwife who didn't have time in the end to call on a 'proper' midwife so I never did the panting stage when the head was crowning - I was still pushing like a good un. That all factored in to it being a bad tear. I am mostly very hopeful that given correct management and better circumstances (ie no arm on side of head!) that I will be ok this time. Altho they did say that the scar tissue I have from last time is weaker and more susceptible to tearing again - I like to think that the rest of the tissue is stretchier and it will even out :o Anxiety just ramps up a little higher the closer it gets I think...

Mrsbunny - Hope you managed to get your night away booked in  Super super cute sleepsuits by the way!!

Fran-O - you have a mighty tall husband  Glad you found a buggy that's suitable for you both

TL - I push baby's bum out the way sometimes as it is quite painful in certain positions! Their bums feel quite solid, I always used to think it was a head. That's our babys default position anyway, head down, bum over to the side under the ribs - sometimes kicking me in the ribs too. Your whooping cough jab might be sore for a few days :o But yay for all the other nice baby bits you have done / got planned :j

Kscarlet - lovely to hear from you and so pleased things are going ok with Chloe

Birdie - I think most babies are tinkers with the ol stage fright!! I love to watch my belly all jiggling around all over the place. Its so weird to think what it will look like and even whether its a boy or a girl. I remember you saying the other week about someone calling your baby 'it' and you not liking it - well we're the opposite. We're team yellow but 95% of people think its a boy - so much so that some people keep calling it 'him' which is irritating me now :rotfl: I do feel like they all must know something I don't tho?! :o Oh and with your friend - that frightens me that our baby will be a biggun. I just think the 'baby' stage lasts so much longer if you have a smaller baby. DD was 8lb 9oz, and I just have no clue as to whether this will be a bigger or smaller baby - but seeing as we are so late (and I am so sure on my dates this time, whereas last time I don't think they were right..) I do think its got more chance of being a larger baby...

Firefly - glad your blood sugar is doing a lot better now. I have a really big hospital bag!! I hate packing - I always overpack things. And the more time I have had - the more things I have just stuck in there 'just in case'!! I think maybe that can be a job for today to have a look through it all and see if its all completely necessary :o
