I have just started putting things out in the nursery Squeeeeeeeeee! :j:j:j
It felt so lovely putting things on shelves and opening packets and deciding where things should goNot done anything with the bedding or clothes as the unit has not been built but finally i feel as if I am getting close to having things ready.
As for toys and play that is something I am really interested in and am planning on using a lot of the ideas from The Imagination Tree which is a great website that utilises things from around the home and inexpensive items. The baby section on there is well worth having a look at
I know there are likely to be plastic gadgets etc bought for the baby but I much prefer the natural material and everyday learning approach which is why the montessori materials appeal to me so much.
Thank you Kerri for the infoTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

I'm sad I can't see your pic Amy
I'm on my phone though so I don't know if that makes a difference..?
Good luck Abi
Congratulations on your new bold status finchhope you're not kept waiting too long.
Kerri_dwf, I found it interesting that you were 2/5 engaged, with you being just a week further on, as I've had distinct moments of pelvic pressure recently. Don't think MiniZee stays there for more than hours though, but will be interesting to see what point they start telling me s/he's engaged...
My anxiety is definitely in overdrive alongside the ramp up of hormones. Just hoping this isn't a sign of impending PNDDH had to cancel the hospital tour for the slot I'd booked (I did check with him first and he'd agreed to it, but then found had a work commitment he couldn't get out of) and he can't make any of the 'quieter' tour slots til I'll be full term, so I had another wobbler :o He rang today to cancel the original booking and explained about my anxiety and people/crowds/new places issues and they were apparently very understanding and gave him the number for the community midwife team that's attached to the hospital. The hope is that one of those midwives will be able to do a one on one type tour with us, instead of the usual group situations. *fingers crossed* I'm still anxious about meeting a new midwife etc, but less so than in a group scenario... Just hoping we can get it over and done with sooner rather than later, so it can stop playing on my mind
DH will be ringing them tomorrow (well, today now) to see what he can arrange...
I think I'm getting my nesting instincts kicking in a bit too. Things that I've been pretty laid back about are starting to stress me out more than usual. I'm not physically capable of much in the way of housework, so I'm more the planner/orderer/sorter in this house, and things not being quite right are bugging me more than normalPoor DH! I did warn him that I could feel my hormones etc on the rise and not to take things too seriously for the next few weeks... He's very tolerant, bless him
Ordered most of the last of the stuff for MiniZee today, and planning a shopping trip tomorrow to get the remainders. Then hopefully it's just a couple of nursing bras and maternity/nursing pads etc to get and I should be able to pack my hospital bag and just put everything else through the wash/away.
Anyone else felt a return to the first trimester fussiness, over what foods you can stomach etc, around this time? Is rather frustrating and not exactly easy on the budgeting

Congratulations on the birth kscarlet. Hope she is beautiful and your enjoying every second.
Back to work today, I can actually walk straight, little bud must of moved yesterday afternoon as started to feel better then. DH wanted me to take the rest of the week off but I can't do that if I'm feeling better, I feel guilty.
Can't actually be bothered to move to get dress to go to work......but that's another story!! It's far too cold, I hate winter.

Is this list one where I can add my dates myself, or does someone else to do it? (EDD = 17th March 2013, having a girl).
It's good to see a bit of a balance between boy and girl pregnancies over here - there's a whole glut of girl bumps due to come over from the other list shortly!Mortgage when started: £330,995

Lannieduck hello and welcome! And any other newbies I've missed!
Kerri your Montessori projects sound lovely, and will be nice toys to keep and show little one when they're older! I am very jealous of all you ladies who seem to have craft / knitting / cooking skills - although I am getting better at drawing Peppa Pig :rotfl:(DD's current obsession!)
Birdie well done on your Perfect Prep bargain - I don't really "get it" either Jenni_fer but I think it's like a Teasmaid for bottles which must be good if you can have it just next to the bed?
Abis hope things get moving for you - I was quite shocked at how much plug I had with DD - it's so gross too isn't it? Bet you're bored with the knicker-twitching now though! Good luck with your sweep today!
KScarlet huge congratulations, looking forward to pics and name info in due course!
Amy congratulations on the arrival of Bethany who is of course beautiful!
Bigzippy oh it'd be lovely if they could accomodate you for a 1:1 tour. I am not sure if I've got the old nesting instincts or whether it's just blind panic about getting the house neat and tidy for when I'm too busy to keep up with housework!
MrsBunny hope you found something nice to wear - I love dressing for winter - I am only 5'1" so find well-fitting winter tights and skirts much easier to find than jeans or maxi skirts in the summer! I didn't want to leave my bed this morning though so know where you're coming from on that front!
I have got like a hollow bit at the top of my bump now, and seem to have started weeing more often, not sure if baby has temporarily moved down a bit .... but for now I'm just enjoying being able to breathe! Slept for 8 hours solid last night which was fab. Still only put on about 1.5 stone so I've got 2 stone to go to reach the epic weight gain when I had DD  Sure a few mince pies and Christmas cake helpings over the next few weeks will help with that! I have done all the Christmas shopping online so got a few bits to click and collect, I treated myself to a Tassimo machine which I think will be lovely when I'm (hopefully) breastfeeding and glued to the sofa for hours on end! How are you guys going on with Christmas shopping?
It's payday in the mincepiemonster household today :T 3 days of feeling rich before the bills go out on Monday! So will be bargain hunting on Amazon this morning!

Big zippy - I can definitely feel down her back to her head being firmly down there. She's not tried popping out so hoping she's staying put. Hope you get a tour booked as I'm sure it'll ease your worries.
Mrsbunny - glad your feeling better although I'd have taken the rest of the week off if it were me.
Faith hope - I'm hoping to make toys from recycling when she's a bit older as they always prefer the box anyway. Definitely don't want lots of noisy plastic in our house.
Rummer - I want to finish our nursery off, need a mattresss for her room though even though I know she won't need it just yet. Although contemplating the floor bed with mobiles hanging over and the mirror for daytime play, but not sure whether it would be better to have a floor mat play area and a sleep area separate? Going to go buy mobile making things from h0bbycr4ft today
Lannie - welcome, I'm sure bigZ can edit the list to add you on there and congratulations
AFM - OH was in a foul mood this morning. It's bin day and he had to get up early to do them as he went to the pub after work last night. He didn't even want to spend anytime with me yesterday evening when he came in as he couldn't be bothered to sit downstairs with me. He's just left the house in a strop without a kiss goodbyeApparently he spends all his spare time sorting out the house and I do nothing. All because I didn't put something upstairs immediately as I was going to do it when I went back up. He's going to get a massive shock if he tries to control our daughter like that if she's half as stubborn as either of us.

Ooh enjoy your trip to Hobbycraft Kerri, we have just had one open about 5 miles away but I've not had chance to go for a nosy yet - as I say I'm not the most crafty / arty person but a hangover from my youth is an obsession with different colours / types of pens and paper and general stationery!0
