    Babamoose - he is gorgeous

Abis - hope the sweep works for you, walking certainly seems to bring on my bh so worth a shot

Mrsbunny - agreed faaaar too early for Xmas trees, we do ours the week before and down by new year.

Kscarlet - good luck for the morning you must be soooooo excited

Afm - just back from hospital, they decided to book the scan for 9am but then wanted to see me for monitoring anyway. Went over there in rush hour traffic and I'm shattered now. I kept watching the green numbers ot knowing what those were, so asked the nurse when she came back at the end and was surprised that was monitoring bh...I just thought baby was arching their bum hahaha it was tightenings. Baby all fine but ave to go back for scan. Two MW there measured me as 31cm, I'm convinced my MW wasn't measuring far enough down my pubic bone. Also got fed a sarnie whilst there as hungry :)

Well I've booked us in for the hospital tour next week, after procrastinating for longer than I should've, but it's brought up some (more) anxiety issues :o

Anyone else 'have to' go to the hospital to give birth (I'm consultant led care, for reasons I agree with and wouldn't risk giving birth elsewhere) but have serious anxiety issues about doing so? :o I don't have massive issues going to the hospital for my appointments (although I do always have DH with me and I'm familiar with that part of the hospital), but the idea of the tour is freaking me out enough... Actually potentially being admitted terrifies me. And the idea of DH having to leave my side at any point? -Don't get me started on that one :(:o

I know the hormones (and constant pain and fatigue etc) are making all of this worse and I'm not quite such a fruit loop normally as I'm behaving right now, but I really do feel like I'm starting to come unhinged sometimes :(:o I saw my gp about my increasing anxiety levels recently and basically he didn't really want to do anything until post birth... I understood his reasons, agreed even, but it doesn't really help me right now...

Sick of permanent congestion and such too, but that's less concerning to me right now

(Sorry, completely self indulgent post. :o I'll try to do better soon :o)

Big zippy I don't want to belittle your worries because I've never been properly classed as having anxiety however, hopefully I can reassure you a little.

Last year when I had to have an erpc after the mc I was absolutely terrified of the whole hospital thing. And because of visiting hours and the timings of the operation there was a chance of me not seeing DH before they put me under! So they told me they'd put me last on the list so this wouldn't happen. Of course on the day this hadn't happened and I was like well I'm not consenting to tut operation unless he's here, luckily a lovely lady swapped places with me over hearing.

When I got wheeled to the theatre I was crying and petty much hysterical.

I was basically a nightmare patient :). But the staff were amazing & really lovely.

Then a couple of weeks ago when they told me I was being admitted to hospital I was so scared but I honestly did feel safer being there than being at home and the 2 ladies in my room were ever so nice I was fine when DH had to leave - and that was only 9pm to 9am so I was sleeping then anyway. I did have a cry at one point when DH left as they were supposed to be moving me to another bed and they were taking ages but a lovely student midwife came and gave me a hug.

I think I can honestly say I'm not scared of staying in the hospital anymore.

It's really good to know that any worries you have, just press a button & a midwife will come! Even the dr said to me if you're at home you won't ask about things you might do here.

So I guess just please try not to worry as best you can xx

Hope it goes well today KScarlet! :)

Baba, what a gorgeous baby you have! :D

Hope the scan shows that everything is good Kerri. Better to be safe than sorry but when you're travelling in rush hour traffic I'm sure you're more inclined to feel like cursing the midwives! :p

Glad you're feeling better about Christmas MrsBunny! :) I have to agree that it's a bit early for putting trees up though! We'll be putting ours up in a couple of weeks although we've had such a move around of furniture over the year I'm not even sure where it's going to go! :o So strange to think that this is our last Christmas as a childless couple! :)

Got my rescheduled from last week MW appointment this morning. Forgot to pee in the sample bottle this morning *again* so downing water and wriggling about in the hope I'll be able to go before I get there! :o

Awww, baba moose! What a gorgeous little boy :happyhear I do love the baby pics, it just reminds me of all the nice bits still to come.

Mrsbunny - I always think November is too early for xmas trees. We put ours up no more than 2 wweeks before and I enjoy it as we put xmas songs on and eat mince pies and drink hot chocolate :D can't seem to focus on anything christmassy until baby is here anyways. Was really surprised when I thought how quickly DD will be opening her advent calendar! I do think xmas becomes totally different when there are kids around. Think i would be a lot more bah humbug without DD.

Kerri - good luck for your scan. Hope all is ok.

Kscarlet - good luck with yr section. Looking forward to hearing the announcement and seeing a piccie :D

Birdie - hope yr midwife appt goes ok. I can normally sqeeze a dribble out. They don't need much at all to test it.

Bz - I think the hospital tour might help to relieve anxieties as you will get an idea of where you are going and what you surroundings will be like. I found the tour helpful. They also took us to the baby icu so that if there were any problems we wouldn't be as freaked out so don't be shocked if they show you that too. You can ask as many questions as you like and all the midwives were super and used to dealing with anxious and hormonal women. DH shouldn't have to leave you but I guess it depends on how long your labour is etc. You can make it clear to the midwives that you need him close etc. Pregnant women are allowed to be unhinged :p:o I would class myself as fairly normal most the time, but my emotions swing so quickly at the mo its hard for me to keep up! It will all be fine don't worry

Afm- am still here. Sigh. My pregnancy app sent me a message saying congratulations your baby is finally here. No. No its not you stupid app!! :rotfl:

Awww, sorry you're still lurking around like a bad smell Abi! :o

MW went OK, she even managed to get blood out of my stubborn veins. :) Been referred to physio for my back/bum aches. Doubt it'll do much but at least it's been noted. She also gave me the OK to wear Boots brand heat patches on my back since they don't state not for pregnant women, just to check with Doctor. Glad about that as I was getting worried about going down to London on Saturday, after 2.5 hours in an uncomfortable train seat I'd be half broken by the time we arrive! Hoping the heat should keep me a little more supple. :)

I bought OH a nice new advent calendar this year, little bags on a string to put sweets and things in from M&S. Been buying lots of festive chocolates to go in it but I'm going to have to go shopping again as I keep borrowing from the stash for little evening treats so I've only got about half what I need now! :p

Morning all. I'm definitely more unhinged when pregnant, it's one of those things I think. Plus we worry about really silly things and cry over butter/milk/m&s adverts etc.

Abis - sorry you're still lurking, won't be much longer :)

AFM - scan was fine, was really long as they had a student in there and she was "having a play" with the machine on my belly. Baby just below the 50th percentile, which is fine as we're not big people and averaging about 5lbs now so we're on track for my guessed weight of 7lb 4 :)

5lb at 34+0? That's great! Tell your MW to sod off next time! I think you're in for a bigger baby than 7lb 4oz ;) i'll guess at 8lb by birth :)

I want to hear from Scarlet, she'll be done by now!

    hi ladies

I have been sent home from work. baby is lying very low and I am struggling to stand up straight, feels like really bad period/belly pain.

got home and phone to mw who happily explained its just 'the joys of pregnancy' and to rest with a dose of phil and holly!!!!

my manager has been lovely and told me not to come in until I can stand up straight again....lucky work has gone quiet these last few weeks so I don't feel too guilty from taking the time off.

just waiting for my mum to pop round with lunch for me and to have a natter, DH thought he was getting an early dart from work today and was much upset with the mw diagnose of rest!! :rotfl:

bigzippy - I am ok with going into the hospital, not looking forward if I have to stay in for longer than I need to but will if it is for my own/baby health. DH on the other hand is scared, hates hospitals and is frightened that I wont come out. no matter how many times I talk to him about it he is still very scared. he is ok when we go for appointments etc but giving birth...he is very scared. he also asked if it was ok for him to 'not look' down there when baby is coming out, I said its fine, stay at my head, as long as you are there I don't mind where he stands! I have married a funny one :p

right baby....get moving to a more comfortable position for me....you are causing me problems!!! :rotfl:
