Fab, thanks girlies
Ooh and to make my day even better my manager has called, I've been given a promotion up a pay grade
Which means when pay review comes round next year, I'm in for a pay rise
(well hopefully, considering I'm about £10k less than everyone else my grade!!!)

BZ meant to reply this morning. So much of what you said made total sense to me & I feel v similar. Dreading the consultant led part, DH potentially having to go home etc. I really hope the tour sets your mind at ease, I always find it easier when I can picture the place xx
Afm had a bit of a scare today, baby didn't move for over 12 hours. Saw mw & as soon as I lay down on the bed for her to do hb the little tinker kicked really hard! So feeling much betterFirst baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -
I feel like my head is full of cotton wool
I am all blocked up and could cheerfully sleep for a week. It is a real effort just to get through the day. Mercifully there is not long to go until I start maternity leave :j
All the baby prep has ground to a halt too as I am just so tired.
Hopefully I will get a wee burst of energy again soonTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Hi all, had a busy few days, thanks for all your news.
Saturday was a fun day out in London with my Auntie, we saw Charlie and the Chocolate factory (wonderful!) had a walk round covent garden and I took her on a new route master bus for a treat! Loved it though my hips were sore after lots of walking round in the cold!
Sunday I got up early and went with hubby to view a couple of cars. We traveled miles though happily stopped for tea with far flung friends so managed to turn it into a social too! And (fingers crossed) we have the car secured. Might be ready to collect this weekend.
Monday I had a midwife appt (31 weeks) and as hubby was off work he joined me for the appt and lunch afterwards which was nice, though I had to go back to work after! We also had our first nct antenatal class in the evening and it was really good: friendly couples, easy going teacher, really nice to do something baby related where hubby could be just as involved as me. Couldn't sleep last night as I was buzzing so much!
And today I've been sorting out my maternity cover... After struggling to find an external candidate to fit the role, we've found a way to promote two junior colleagues to jobshare it (with some of their current responsibilities filled by a new junior post) which is great.
Tomorrow I need a rest! Still feeling healthy, just tired and occasional back pain. Have swapped handbag into a backpack and I like the boots heat patches too for drug free relief for the odd aches.
Best wishes to all xfran-o0 -
Kerri, congratulations on the promotion. That's great news!
Becca, sorry to hear the baby gave you a scare but glad it's okay. I've heard that if you don't feel the baby move for a while you should drink a sugary drink, like coke or orange juice, and 30 mins later lay down or have a hot bath to feel the baby easier.
Fran-o, I'm glad you're enjoying the NCT classes. We're doing a condensed course in a months time, it's two Sundays and one Monday evening. I'm looking forward to it as I'm hoping I'll learn a lot about labour, breast feeding, what to buy for baby and how to look after a newborn.
AFM, I've been feeling good the last few days which is really nice after being under the weather for so long. Although the PGP means I can't do any exercise, yoga or walk too much which is really disappointing, I feel brighter and not so tired (iron tablets must have kicked in). It's strange considering that I've suddenly grown significantly and now feel much bigger than my 26 weeks. I have a bad feeling I'm going to be massive and I'm hungry ALL the time.
I had a terrible commute home. Massive train problems, thousands of people having to walk, stations closed due to overcrowding, trains not running, it was horrible. It was so crowded that people were bashing into me and I couldn't even get near a platform. I'm a seasoned commuter but I felt vulnerable and protective of my bump. Thankfully my lovely husband got a cab to collect my car from our local station, then drove 45 mins to collect me from a tube station I could get to. Unfortunately I had to do quite a bit do walking to get to another line, so my pelvis is aching and it took an extra hour to get home but it would have been a lot worse if he hadn't done that for me. The link below gives a good idea of what it was like, but it wasn't confined to one station, it meant people were stuck getting home to most of south east and South London, which meant thousands of people trying to find a way.

Really hope things are moving for you.... I'm going to be lurking now, very excited by new babies being born!!!We had our final NCT session tonight so DH and I feel like we're ready to go... It was weird when we all left, quite a few of us felt like we should just go to the hospital and give birth then and there :rotfl:

Badlywrittenpoem -sorry it took so long to reply. As the other ladies have already said, they took the gas off me as I was concentrating too much on using it and not enough on the pushing. But turns out I didn't need it anyway, your bodies are amazing things. You just seem to go with what your body & the midwife tells you
Will post pic when I can figure it out, brain is a little spaced still.
My body seems to be sorting itself out after the bleed & transfusion ordealbf is going really well, just getting Bethany back off to sleep after her latest nighttime feed. Ventured out on a short dog walk with DH earlier - felt brilliant to be outside again.
Got married 12/10/12 in Gretna Green:j
Became a Mommy to a gorgeous little girl 22/11/13 :j0 -
Poor you Kynthia - I go through London Victoria everyday and it was packed last night, I guess because of people trying to find another route home. Commuting was the biggest factor for me in choosing when I finish work, am starting maternity just after 34 weeks, as although I could continue my desk job I am already totally fed up of the commute and the stress that goes along with it. Have a better day today!fran-o0
