    Evening everyone,

Have I missed any birth announcements? I know there's a few due at the beginning of November.

Not great news from me. Scan yesterday was a bit shoddy - growth is poor and my consultant is concerned about dopplers and reduced fetal movements. So I now have to go in for CTG monitoring twice a week and will be scanned weekly until she is born. Have to have my steroids early in case they need to deliver her before 37 weeks. All in all, a bit crap.

I know the end of pregnancy is a bit rubbish for you ladies but now that there is a real possibility my baby will be premature I really would give anything to be able to go to term.

Oh Lilly that's not good :( on the bright side, at least she won't be given joint xmas and birthday presents. She's going to be perfect when she's born, but it doesn't help with the worry does it xxx

So sorry to hear your news Lily, and hope that the monitoring and scans show things are progressing better than expected. I'm really pleased the hospital seem to be taking this seriously and are putting plans into place to keep you and baby safe.

With any luck she's just been a little quiet lately because she's storing up her energy for a massive growth spurt, ready to surprise the consultant at your next appointment.

Will be thinking of you, please update us whenever you feel you can or want to :grouphug:

    Hi everyone,

Not due to officially join you until next week but wanted to ask whether any of you were diagnosed with low lying placenta as I have been. If so, how did things go for you?

I was. At 32 weeks it was still totally covering the cervix. I wax told I needed to rest & that it was likely I would have a section at 38 weeks. It subsequently moved & I had a vaginal delivery.

Lily, glad they're looking after you both. Hope bubs has a growth spurt and all this worry is for naught.

Birdie, sounds like stretching pains to me. They shocked me how strong (and sharp sometimes) they were to begin with. I've been feeling like MiniZee has been brewing for a growth spurt the past day or two and tonight the underside of my bump was really sore, so seems I was right. They say to lie on the opposite side to where your pain is (assuming it's one side or the other ;)), if that helps?

Team Lowe hope it's something and nothing but glad you got checked and resting sounds like a grand idea ;)

Msm hope you're feeling brighter soon :o

Vic happy full term day :D

Faith hope, can't help you there, mine's at the back apparently.
That reminds me, if your placenta is at the back, does that mean baby can't be back to back (thinking for when I'm in labour etc)?

AFM I had my whooping cough jab today. Arm is tender and the actual jab hurt more than the flu jab one, but hoping I don't feel any other ill effects from it.

MiniZee is definitely growing and I can't wait to not have to leave the house tomorrow! :o

We got given a load more baby stuff from a friend yesterday. It included a baby bath on a trolley type thing with a change mat over the bath at the top. Now, I can see why people might find these handy, and I like the idea of no bending to bathe MiniZee, but I can't think where it could live that wouldn't just be in the way?? It's huge! And filling it up doesn't look to be a doddle... Then wheeling it to the nearest plug hole to empty it... Is it just me or does all that sound like more faff and hassle than it's worth?

Yes - mine were dunked in the kitchen sink x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

We have an Easi Peasi changer so sounds similar, albeit ours is probably easier to fill and empty and I can honestly say that the only reason we have it is because I'm having a section so think I'll appreciate not having to bend.

Much like Molly's kids, I was bathed in the sink until I was big enough to go in the 'proper' bath and I would have been tempted to do the same with this baby if circumstances were different.

Is there any chance it would fit in the bathroom if you don't want to offend your friend by getting rid of it?

Sorry to hear things aren't going brilliantly Lily, at least they're keeping an eye on it and preparing your little girl by putting you on the steriods early. You're in a much better position in that sense than someone who suddenly finds themselves having to deliver really early with little warning or medical preparation at least. :)

Hope that baby girl has a growth spurt and stays in there for the rest of the month at least! :)

I like the look of those trolley bath thingies but agree that they seem to take up a lot of space for no good reason! We've been given a baby bath and that is making me wonder what I'm supposed to do with it, there's going to be a lot of water slopped about between filling it and emptying it! :p I might just buy a bath support and be done with it since that's what everyone says to buy! :)

Feeling pretty good this morning for the first time all week! No aches or pains! Hurrah! :) Baby had hiccups all last night though, when I went to sleep he was still jumping away, and was still having a good wiggle when I woke up this morning! I hope this isn't a sign that he's going to be nocturnal when he's born!
