    Argh! TMI ALERT

I asked OH to help me with some "topiary" at the weekend as I can't see over the bump and was scared of cutting myself. He's not done a very good job and I'm itchy like anything :( Is it better to just go for a wax and leave the razor until after baby arrives? Trying to work out whether it would make it more comfortable even though there's the initial pain aspect.

  • I was tempted to wax, I had my legs done last week, but we both (beautician, not OH) thought the grow back with an episiotomy would be horrible together.
I'm just going to trim with scissors when it starts, so its short, but not bother shaving sides etc as one less thing to be uncomfortable after.
They are going to see alot of horrible stuff going on down there, I don't think a bushy mush will be a problem!

Congrats Nene, your chosen middle name is on our short list :)

Just thought the ladies going for owl themes might be interested in this: http://www.yourhomemagazine.co.uk/article/72/owl-doorstop
I've made four, they are easy to make, the kind of craft that looks twee and characterful if the eyes are a bit wonky etc!

Well we're finally home. Thank god. Was meant to be a quick in out but I stayed 17hrs  so glad I didn't have a home birth though. Would have been so messy!

Good luck to everyone who is still bold. Hope your little bundles of joy arrive soon. :)

I've had a big long walk too :) Along the prom in the blustery wind and rain unfortunately... but then the way back was a little more pleasant.

Had my spicy curry for lunch and after chilli chicken for dinner I may have eaten a rather large tin of pineapple chunks...

Still no movement though. My Sharpie pens aren't working on my wall, I hope I don't have to go round the outline in black paint, that could go v v wrong... :(

OH came home via Wilkos with some box frames for the wall that he said I might be able to do something nice and crafty with :) I like that he is trying to keep me entertained (although secretly I know it is all a ploy to stop me moaning at him... clever man).

This is where support is key. They are all for it when in hospital and when you are out of hospital there is barely any one to call on to help you when you are desperate and crying in pain

They should have checked baby for tongue tie - checked positioning - and not just the latch but try different ways of holding baby - give you different pillows to try to see if one suited better than the other etc etc. There is so much they can do and I think if they carried on the "support" at home when all the questions and doubts kick in then thats ladies who really want to carry on can work through it.

For those that do want to give it a try just make sure you have all the phone numbers/locations/days for your local breastfeeding groups some are run by nct and are free. They will sit with you and go through lots of bits to help with any problems that crop up. Dont suffer alone. xx

I don't feel let down by anyone though at all. The hospital did try and put her on the left many many times and we got her on a few times with the rugby ball position as they called it as they wondered if she preferred how she laid when feeding on the right. However she only fed for a short time and as a new mum I probably gave in too easily and put her straight back onto my right because I felt guilty/knew she'd get fed then.

The afternoon I came home hubby was distraught that she hadn't been fed since 2:30pm in the hospital and yes maybe we didn't give it long enough at home as got home at 4pm roughly and then like I mentioned hubby went out at 4am for formula.

I think given the time of evening/morning it was didn't help either. Don't regret what hubby did though.

  • Well ladies I can safely say that priming two door frames ready for gloss is not one to join the list of pineapple and spicy curry...

But it is amazing the things you get round to doing when you start to get extremely bored...

Haha! I'm still lurking! They're lush aren't they! LOL! I think it must be the mother thing as I'm still baking cakes! Just bought a couple of £5 cake books from Amazon for inspiration! This one has some yummy recipes: http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Hummingbird-Bakery-Home-Sweet/dp/0007413599/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1382997924&sr=8-2&keywords=hummingbird

Kerri-dfw - I used sensitive spray hair remover on my erm... "topiary" when I was heavily pregnant! You can get a mirror and spray quite accurately yourself, and then hop in the shower!;)
