Fluffysox - With regards to the Perfect Prep machine - I would wait - get some cartons in/powder in meanwhile and use both. I expressed and used cartons when baby was unexpectedly demanding (as you can put any they don't drink in the fridge for a couple of days and heat up for a later feed to avoid waste). The powder I would make up when I knew baby would need a good feed and cool it in a bowl of water - after all, it does keep for 2 hours after its made.

When out and about, tommee tippee do some powder containers that you can keep in a bottle of previously boiled water so you can make up a fresh feed whenever http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tommee-Tippee-Closer-Nature-Dispensers/dp/B000UUO61Y/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1382213610&sr=8-12&keywords=tommee+tippee

In the meantime - watch around for cheaper Perfect Prep machines - that's what I did - when I found mine - there were around 6 refurbished ones going on Ebay from the same place. Also Amazon had some at £59 a few weeks ago. You need to check daily as the price constantly changes. If you are a little patient you will get it at a good price (and will also appreciate it after having done the whole "make up formula" thing).

Looking back, despite the tongue tie, I would never have coped with bf-ing exclusively - I like my sleep and a bottle around 11pm has meant, even from just a few weeks, I (and baby) have had a good nights sleep with no waking. Whilst my BF-ing pals have had to get up every 2-3 hours, and having to feed baby every hour during the day! Combination feeding (expressing and ff) for me, has worked better than relying on just one or the other (although this week I have stopped expressing - baby is nearly 4 months old though - I'd had enough of the breastpump!!!!).

Good luck all, whatever you choose to do - everything has its pros and cons!

edit - just looked at Ebay - theres a Buy it now for £40 (plus £8 p&p) - so they do come up every now and then. Mine was £27.99 plus £6.99 on a buy it now. Keep looking!

My notes say I'm 4/5 engaged. What does that mean? Xx

I think it is that they can feel 4/5ths of the baby above your pelvis... so lower the first number the closer it is to seeing the world

I wish mine would write things like this on, they just announce when they've found his bum. Classy baby.

Thank goodness; I thought it was that. Not ready for him to come out yet!

We finally have managed to get the cot bed up (we picked it up from sister's about a month ago but without all the necessary parts so couldn't put it together when we tried ) today :D My parents came over for the day and helped DH get hold of some parts that would work and put it together. The fact that I've since noticed the base is the wrong way up is beside the point ;) We also measured up for the furniture and our first choices won't fit (where we need/want them to go) but we've come up with a plan B that will work, so we can go pick them up at will now :) And I think my parents are going to pay for said furniture and the moses basket :D

Sleeping badly though, and achey, and not stopped eating today, so I think the wee one is having a growth spurt :)

Keeping my eye on you boldies :p

Thanks chick. We had the room recarpeted in August so did a semi sort out then. Just got to move all of baby's stuff in now! Are you feeling better?

My notes say I'm 4/5 engaged. What does that mean? Xx

Thanks hun I'm still not feeling great :( just feel like my body isn't fighting the infection I have a nebuliser as I suffer with asthma badly anyway but not normally for almost 3 weeks! I've been using it lots if I still need to by Monday I think I will see a Dr again. Feeling ill has sent me into a panic about getting ready though, I kept putting it off now I'm worried if I am ill/ hospitalised nothing will be ready for baby. Are you feeling ok now? Bet you can't wait to get baby's things in his room :) please share a pic once you have everything in! X

Yes with engaging it's the lower the number the closer baby is to outside world, baby just keeps popping in and out it's very uncomfortable. Completely different to my last pregnancy where he just engaged towards the end.

I'm not sure if this is me being crazy but I'm worried all this coughing is causing the baby distress. I know she has a lot of fluid around her but I am constantly coughing and it really feels like she is getting squished. My ribs/ stomach feel so painful :(

Thanks, don't be sorry though hopefully I will feel better soon. Just hope I can get this out of the way before I get to full term! Feel worse about the fact my son has caught my lurgy so hasn't been sleeping for past few nights, its been one of my worst chest infections in a while I really feel for him as I imagine its quite scary when you are 3 :(

So you should be proud of what you have achieved! Its amazing how much work it is sorting these rooms! I've got a photostream I keep adding pics to of purchases/ progress of room etc that I share with DH while he is away, I added some pics of the room last week and in its current state tonight. Although it still feels like theres a long way to go I just cannot believe the difference in a week! Wish I would have taken a photo several months back it was basically the dumping room when we moved in so was full of boxes/ random bits of junk! I put 4 items on ebay out of the room that my son had outgrown or things I hadn't used, the auctions ended tonight and I made £52 :D so pleased! x

Just up feeding Amelie and thought I'd check in on those ladies about to pop! I'm guessing no one has gone quite yet? Fingers crossed you don't have to wait too much longer.

The adrenalin is now subsiding to exhaustion as we have a lazy night time feeder, sucks sporadically but feeds well and sleeps for 3-4 hours in the day. Maybe I'll just have to get used to sleeping in the day with her!

Looking forward to hearing your announcements :)
