Eek, bold! Fluffysox i hope you manage to avoid the section. Do you get another chance at a sweep or is it straight to induction now?

Well Argos is a no go for the Tommee tippee machine. Although it is on the site it is out of stock both online and at my nearest 5 stores.

Re: bikini wax- I've never been brave enough for this. I'm not very hairy thankfully so underwear covers everything but a trim is helpful to keep clean particularly after birth. I asked my husband to help me out when heavily pregnant with DS and he pulled out electric hair clippers (like you'd cut the hair on your head with) I was horrified  But I eventually let him do it. (a number two ;)) Result was very neat and not itchy so at 37 weeks I enlisted him and his clippers again.:rotfl: You've heard it all now lol.
Just read a book (an autobiography) of a midwife. She started as a midwife in 1970 and back then the midwives used a cut throat razor to shave women who came to hospital in labour!!!! Then gave them enemas- how horrific.

No more sweeps. Induction is Weds if cervix is favourable they'll break my waters. Then use drip if necessary. Can't have pessary. If its not favourable (short and open all the way- it was shut at top today after successful sweep Weds) then from what they've said they'll book a section. If waters are broken but labour doesn't progress well they would send me for a section much quicker than if it was my first labour. Feel like I'm on a deadline lol.

OK so the more I think about it the less I want to breastfeed.
Very tempted by Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep machine. Anybody seen any good deals on it. I have some Argos vouchers and it is the same price there as it is in Toys R Us and Amazon. (79.99).
Also was wondering how often filters need changing?
And can you use any bottles or do they have to be Tommee Tippee ones? Edit: Just watched a video on it and it takes most bottles. ;)

    Congrats Lobey!

Just popping by to see any updates and saw your post Fluffysox.....I just had to reply!

I have combined expressed and formula feed since birth (due to tongue tie)- and I only wish I had this machine earlier! I bought a refurbished one off Ebay for £35 about 3 weeks ago and it has totally changed my life! It is the one baby product that I wouldn't be without now - its absolutely wonderful!

The filters need changing every 3 months - and I would look on Ebay for second hand machines as everything can be cleaned and you can get a new filter (£8.99 from ToyrsRUs, Amazon or Mamas and Papas).

It is fab - a bottle, perfect temp in 2 mins! I'm sure it saves electricity as well - no boiling of the kettle, no guessing when baby will want a feed, no cooling - its simply fab for anyone using formula. I never thought it was possible to love a gadget as much as this! The only thing I don't like is the loud beeps! If you need any more advice just PM me - I really can't recommend it enough though!!! x

Thanks I will take a look on ebay ;)
Edit: not many on there and the ones that are listed are selling close to normal price.
Best prices so far are Amazon and Asda. Asda is handy as collect from store and can potentially return to store. Asda is listing it at £99.99 but with 20% off applied at checkout so works out the same as Amazon.
Unless there is anyway to save extra with Amazon atm?

  • Congrats Lobey :D although that does now make me number 4

Well I jumped on OH so we'll see if that sex does anything ;) :rotfl:

As for underwire bras, they say no as it can stop production of your milk or cause a blockage which isn't nice. Just find some T-shirt/sports bras, they should be comfy, unless you have gigantic bazookas :D :rotfl:
