Ouch Brunettegirl that does NOT sound fun at all, I've already discussed with my OH that I don't want any intervention, not even an induction, unless there's a sound medical reason for it. I'll happily go in everyday for monitoring if she wants to stay in a little bit longer.

Sorry you're feeling so awful, but just try to remember that the date is an estimated date and can be 2 weeks out, sometimes more. I sometimes think it's worse having a set date to aim for rather than "my baby will be born in January sometime" as the pressure on women from others and ourselves when we go over isn't really fair. Have you tried going for some really long brisk walks to try to get things moving?

  • I have been walking everywhere, I have been walking up and down my stairs like a lunatic, I have spent hours on my feet walking around can really bring on Braxton hicks but eventually they fade into nothing.

Have done bumpy car rides, had over 100 cups of raspberry leaf tea, had curry, had lots and lots of orgasms, scrubbed the kitchen floor, hovered up and down stairs....

He just doesn't want to come out....
I need to start saving so I plan to save £2 a week to start with:beer:

Aw you do sound really frustrated :( I've just looked up what it says to try in my hypnobirthing book to see if any of it might assist you :) Relaxing is high on their list and trying a fear/release exercise as you might be holding tension preventing the cervix from relaxing.

    Right it says:
    - hot and spicy foods
    - lovemaking
    - nipple stimulation, but not tooo much
    - rosebud visualisation - imagine your cervix is a rosebud and the rosebud's slowly unfolding and opening and direct your breathe downwards
    - walk - walk, walk, walk and walk some more
    - bath - scooping water over nipples & abdomen
    - fear release
    - acupressure
    - acupuncture
    - cleanse the bowel - 1/2 tbs of castor oil or borage oil every half hour for 3 doses, best followed by orange juice chaser to make it palatable

  • Its just the joys of pregnancy I guess. I was 4 days early with DD1 but 8 days late with DD2 so this one could come at any time. But I know what you mean about not knowing when they're coming. I was tossing and turning all night as I was dreaming about my waters going. Fun fun fun.

I'm having pains between my legs when I sleep at night :( even a pillow between them doesn't help :( ah well. Only a little more to go.

OH is being distant to me :( think he's worried about starting labour, so we haven't had sex for weeks :( he's not even touched me really. Just hugged and kissed.

I'm doing the walking and birthing ball bouncing, but i know really that it's up to baby when he comes.

Brunettegirl, it sounds like your putting a lot of pressure on yourself, it is really disappointing to be overdue but as far as you know you have a lovely healthy baby in there right? I'm sure there wont be too much longer for you to wait.

I was surprised to only get one or two texts yesterday, i'm not sure many people knew my exact due date as i'd just been saying 'middle of october' so not been getting the constant questions from people :)

Babamoose - enjoy your last day at work, i thought it felt very similar to the last day of term at school! It still feels a bit like i'm just having a few weeks holiday and not like i'll be off for 6 months.

nene - pillow isn't helping my hips either, in fact i think i sleep better without one. Sorry to hear your OH isn't being the most affectionate, i think some men get a bit weird about sex when there's a baby in there.

    40+1
  • Oh he knows he can't poke little mans head or anything like that, he just doesn't want to put me into labour yet so he can have a few more nights rest :rotfl: I think I'm just going to jump on him tonight and see what he does :rotfl:

Lol! My DH has a similar idea. He was off yesterday and today and i said 'oh it would be good if baby came on thursday so you'd get over 2 weeks paternity leave' and he said 'yeah but then when would i get a day off doing nothing??' :-/

LOL I think these men of ours are in for a BIG shock. Mine keeps telling me looking after baby is going to be really easy as he'll just be playing computer games all the time!

LOL. Tell him that DH hasn't played a game for a couple of weeks. Too busy with work and helping with the 2 kids. He is chomping at the bit to play more of GTA5 but is too knackered at the end of the day to play.

My friend's DH bought a baby carrier so he can keep the baby quiet whilst he plays games!! :rotfl:

This is our 2nd and because I bf DD1 it meant DH's life was much easier, he couldn't really help with feeding in the middle of the night. He still managed to go down the pub/skittles/darts, not sure how we will cope with 2 under 2 though!

Only something like 5% of babies come on their due date, I'm really wary of these dates as how can they say for certain, the sonographer measures the baby and this is very hit and liss as they baby could be curled up or properly stretched out. I just tend to tell people my bump is due end of Nov maybe beginning or Dec. I will accept any offers of sweeps though as I'm impatient at the same time!
    Got married 13/11/10 :)
