So be prepared, if you have a refluxy baby you will have a lot of changing to do!
I'm glad you said that - was wondering if it was just me!!:D I have 12 muslins too and was lucky enough, like you, to be given and bought tons and tons of baby items. I easily have about 100 vests for all stages up to 12 months just because we never said no to offers of bundles of clothes from friends and family eager to give them away. I am so glad I did! But at least he is getting through items kindly bought by people which is nice.
I'd never witnessed projectile vomiting before my son got here!0 -

My DD will be 2 and 2 months when the baby comes and I don't want to rely on the car for every little journey (I guess from your sig your little boy with be nearly 2.5 when you have your LO, but I know they come on so fast in the 6 months after turning 2 - if she'd have been 2 months older and/or not having a January baby so cold and icy I'd have done the same!) I got a Britax B Dual double but expect that she'll be mostly walking from the Spring. Fingers crossed your appt goes well tomorrow :T
Kerri my DD did crawl up (well, more root about) but didn't latch on very comfortably, although she did seem to be getting some colostrum. The midwives were a bit bossy though and told me I needed to take control and feed her "properly". It was amazing to watch her though.
Yes lovely and comfy- we used the pram for daytime naps, especially since DS was a Summer baby. We had started off with a Silvercross 3D but it we sent it back. The sleepover and traditional chassis is gorgeous to push and people are always commenting on it. We switched to a buggy after 4 months tho as easier to get into shops and fold into the boot of a car. Yes DS will be 2 years 5 months, fingers crossed we can manage without a double.2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

He is really little so I think the nappy fit is due to his tiny body. I bought tons of pampers in pregnancy which in hindsight wasn't a good idea as I now need to get through them all! Quite probably I'm a crap nappy changer.. very weak at moment! We'll see if i improve but Definitely no way 6 baby gros would last us. He has bibs backed with plastic for feeds plus we have muslins and still gets gip on himself or milk runs down his chin! I do only wash clothing once a week though, could live with less if I washed more often but I find 4 changes a day about average. One day I changed him 7 times but I was in hospital without everything I needed .. including bibs as I hadn't anticipated such a stay! My mum luckily suggested I account for 4-5 changes a day. I scoffed but she was so right but then that was 30 years ago since she had us and nappies probs weren't as good!
I've gone for 9 babygros/vests per age category, seem to change my little one around twice per 24 hours although can be three if she gets leaky.
As for bibs and muslins, my advice is to imagine the biggest number you think you'll need and then double it.
My son had reflux and we had 40 muslins at one point! Used to slather any visitors in them before handing DS to them to hold. We went through a lot of bibs too.
Does depend on the child though and how often you'll be doing the laundry.0 -
I think we only have about 6-8 babygros and bodysuits in each size so if we have a poopy baby we'll be making an emergency trip to the shops!
Have been having constant tightenings today, can't tell if they're real contractions though as there's no pattern to them. I guess I'll know if something is happening in the night as it'll up a notch! Here's hoping.0 -
What has everyone bought as bedding for their newborn? I've just sorted the rooms out and realised I don't have any blankets or anything! :eek:What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0

Bangton I think different quantities suit different babies! My son certainly needed a few more sleep suits/ vests/ muslins/ etc. I think we had 14 sleep suits/ vests and loads of muslins! I just didn't fancy having the washing machine on constantly. My son was also v long and slim so finding nappies to fit wasn't the easiest until he gained some weight. When my son was ill I was grateful of having plenty of spare clothing (even though at one point I think we ran out lol! How are you enjoying being a mummy Bangton? X
I've got some of my sons sleep suits/ vests and a few girly ones so wil have plenty this time around. Feels like I'm constantly washing my sons mucky clothes from nursery so hopefully the baby will just add another load or two to washing. Once I start using washable nappies there will be those too!
Jemb I suffer with SPD tooit's so painful. I've had physio, got a support belt and tubigrib (although don't find that helps much) I find imagining my knees are tied together really helps so keeping them together when getting in/ out car, in/ out bed, etc x

Hi all - seems an age since I was last here with the bump (LO is now nearly 4 months!). I cannot recommend sleeping bags highly enough - saves so much faff (I was totally against them at first....and bought the whole sheet/blanket bundles). I have 2 x 2.5 tog (for winter) and 2 x 1.0 tog (for warmer nights) and find that that's all I need for 6 months - and seriously they are absolutely fab! No kicking off of blankets and wondering how many layers to use etc...
They are best value from Sainsburys (when they are doing their 25% off clothing - they are included!), Tesco Direct (as you can double up your Clubcard vouchers, LittlePreciousOne or Kiddicare (I think Mamas and Papas online also have some reasonably priced ones at the moment too).
I would never ever go back to sheets and blankets again - they are just sooooo much easier! (ok...baby has a fitted sheet but that's it!). I really wish I hadn't wasted money on sheets and blankets for the cotbed - although a couple of moses basket sized blankets will help until baby is about 8-9lb and big enough to go in a sleeping bag and for daytime sleeping whilst still tiny! Hope this helps someone!
And this is also much safer than cot bumpers - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Airwrap-Side-Protection-System-Sided/dp/B0030MLLX0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1381869279&sr=8-2&keywords=air+wrap (and actually looks better in real life than on amazon!!!)0 -
Oh yeah, I have a Humphreys sleeping bag in the cupboard. CheersWhat's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0
