Kerri can I please be really nosey and ask what you use skin wise as a cleanser/ moisturiser? I have terrible rosacea and I'm sure it's caused by chemicals in products. I feel like I've tried everything! Can I also ask what you use detergent and household cleaning wise? I'm trying to go Eco once I've used all current chemical products in the house. I do use bicarb and white vinegar for some cleaning x

Congratulations to the new mummies :) lovely photos please keep them coming! X

I'm still feeling ill, think I'll be off to Drs tomorrow as I seem to have a sinus and chest infection.

I could see baby sucking her thumb last night through my bump :) cute but kinda freaky!!

I just wash with the shower gel, I don't use moisturiser or foundation as it brings me out in spots from the oil. The only thing I've found to work on my skin if I needed it was cl1nique anti-blemish range, but I've even stopped using that. I found increasing the amount of water I drink helped massively.

Laundry - I use Suma washing powder, big bag for £34 on am4zon and lasts a year, put two tbs in per wash and vinegar as softener. Some people on here swear by laundry goop (found on O/S board), and I leave whites on the line longer to brighten by the sun. Household I just use ordinary soap, flylady told me in an email once "soap is soap" so just wipe round everything with Castile soap. Although I do swish and swipe everything after use, makes cleaning quicker.

Hope you feel better soon x

Thanks so much Kerri :) I feel in bit of a chemical cycle where I feel I have to cleanse/ moisturise as my skin is so spotty/ dry then I pile loads of make up on trying to hide how terrible it looks! Might try going completely without while on leave as I currently feel like I can't face going out without make up :(xx

:( aw that's not what you need with the hormones at all. I do get flare ups if I eat sugary foods, so try to minimise those. Definitely a vicious cycle though. I'm sure you look radiant and glowing even without the makeup at the moment xx

Have you tried any Lush products? I swear by their pink beauty bar. Having suffered from acne into late twenties this stuff- https://www.lush.co.uk/product/166/100g-SMALL-Fresh-Farmacy-Cleanser -used like soap is great.

  • One thing I swear by skin-wise is hot oil cleansing. I rub in oil (I use jojoba) and then take off with a hot flannel- removes all makeup and leaves my skin really really clear. I use rosehip oil at night for moisturising. I had pretty bad skin before doing this- really dry and red but it has helped so much! Doesn't leave skin greasy at all.

38 weeks today! Panicking as we still need to get so much sorted in the new house but I suppose it will all get done eventually :)

Congratulations on all the new babies- so exciting!
  • Congrats and welcome to all the new babies! It's a busy time of year :)

Just popping in quickly to say that the Tommee Tippee perfect prep is absolutely brilliant. Takes all the stress out of prepping feeds (particularly for me as I am paranoid re preparing and storing bottles in advance, letting water cool to the right temp etc - I know it's not rocket science but I'm the sort to worry about anything and everything) and although it's expensive (and therefore not moneysaving) I think it's a worthwhile investment for us.
  • Thanks for all the reassurances regarding being 38 weeks and struggling. I think my mum must have had easy pregnancies, to be honest I've suffered with something throughout and really haven't enjoyed being pregnant at all.

I had a bit of an emotional breakdown yesterday after a trivial disagreement with OH, once the tears started they wouldn't stop and I cried for hours, in the end I didn't even know why I was crying! I think I just got a bit overwhelmed with everything and its really starting to seem more real now, I know it's strange but it still feels very surreal and I can't believe we are actually going to have a real baby in a couple of weeks time! Feeling a bit better and less anxious today though.

Re sensitive skin, I suffer from eczema so will just try and use the same kind of products on the baby as I use on myself. I always use non bio washing powder as I have a bad reaction to bio. I use sensitive bath products or if my skin is really bad I use prescription stuff. I find aveeno moisturiser is really good too. My skin isn't as bad as it used to be but I tend to go through periods where it becomes awful and nothing works, I find being stressed aggravates it.

She must of had very easy pregnancies (either that or she has forgotten how bad it can get!). I take DS to toddler groups twice a week and on those days I usually end up walking about a mile and I really suffer the next day for it! I have really struggled with my hips and back this time, more so than I did when pregnant with DS.
I'm 36+5 and I am really struggling so your not alone!

As for the crying, I have done it many times this pregnancy. I have found this pregnancy very stressful with many problems right from day one so OH quite often finds me crying for no reason.

Thanks all for skin suggestions I will try avoiding sugar thanks Kerri, unfort I look terrible without make up. I've had a few horrible comments from family so I dread to think what otthers would say/ think :( x

I have heard good things about lush I currently use their powdered deodorant which has stopped me having sore underarms (I really am falling apart!) x

Cloudy hot oil cleansing sounds lovely! I will definatly try that! X
