  • Maire - congratulations! Wow I'm getting scared about how close I'm getting to the end - you were only 3 days ahead of me. Think that makes me 11th on the list. Upload us a pic when you're settled, we love newborn pics. So excited for you. Xx

  • WalkingOnADream - I'm 38wks tomorrow and I haven't been able to do any half decent walking since 30wks for the exact reasons you mentioned. I try and walk the 4-5min walk to meet daughter from
School at 3:15 but feel really heavy pressure halfway there. I've also found just doing a shop in Tesco etc can cause me to have Braxton Hicks. Your mom may have been lucky - this is my 3rd full term pregnancy but the first time I have suffered like this. I cannot sleep with a body pillow between my legs either (as recommended by my midwife) as I wake with excruciating pain in my pelvis from the pressure. X

    Congratulations Maire :):j:j:j

Oh my goodness all these babies recently, they're popping out all over the place... lobey and neneromanova your dreams may yet come true lol ;)

I remember a dream I had when I was expecting DS and I had a newborn baby that kept crying, so I took out the batteries and put it back in its box. Felt horrified when I woke up, like it meant I wouldn't cope, but my Mum thought it was hilarious.
So I was getting ready to go to MW today for sweep and DS was pestering me "Pick me up, pick me up Mummy"
"Give me a moment to pack my bag and then I'll give you a kiss"
    "Me not want a kiss"
    "OK a big hug then!"
    He sighs...."O-Kaaay"
So a minute later I pick him up for a hug and he squeals "Yay- thats what me wanted, me am happy!!"
So left for the less than thrilling prospect of more internal prodding with a happy glow :)

  • Just a quick message before bed - been out on my 'last night out' tonight as it's the local music festival... managed a 5 bar crawl seeking out Becks Blue where I could... I wish bars sold non-alcohol wine, they'd make a killing on the mark up!

Seems odd to think that that was it... but it was a good evening and I had fun :) Might not be out until 2am but I think I passed that stage a while ago........

Soon I will be trying to get my little man to go to sleep instead of out partying... atm I am trying to get my bigger man (OH) to wake up from the couch... good night had all round! :D
  • I know it has been a very long time since she was pregnant herself but surely you never forget how difficult the end is?

You would think this would be the case but I met with a good friend last week with her 18month old little one and she decided that rather than sitting and having a chat over a coffee, we should walk round and round the shopping centre for two hours!!

Still getting early contractions here (13 mins apart) but not expecting to be queue jumping as I've been contacting since Wednesday night (granted they started off 25 mins apart)
Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP
(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)

Toothfairy - I have sensitive skin, I wash only with original source shower gel (it's vegan). I used to have terrible ache, but as soon as I stopped using all the chemical products (including cl1nique) my skin cleared up immediately. I've read that all you need to wash a baby with is water anyway, maybe some Castile (olive oil) soap if you need a bit extra. We're anti-chemicals in our house, don't even use any for cleaning or laundry. I think the only chemicals I still use is my clarifying shampoo and conditioner. I should have been a hippy :p

Re: walking, I'm 28w+3 now and found it quite uncomfortable to walk down the road and back Thursday evening. I don't even have a huge bump so not looking forward to her growing further and trying to walk places.

Congratulations maire, I'm so happy for you :j Have you picked her a name out yet?

Keeping my eye on you, COMP... ;)

Spent today with Dh doing bits of shopping and eating out mainly :p Got some things for christmas presents, that I knew I'd need to get in person, so I'm glad we've done that now as I think most everything else can be done online... I'm a bit paranoid about Christmas-ness cos I'm very aware I'm already struggling with my conditions/pregnancy so want to get as much done as possible in advance...especially as, technically at 37 wks, I'd be full term the week before Christmas!

Hoping to get my new phone contract sorted tomorrow. I think if I wasn't expecting I'm not sure I'd bother, but I want a decent camera (phone, can't be bothered with extra guff to try and remember to carry with me/charge up etc) for when Minizee is here... :)

Kerri can I please be really nosey and ask what you use skin wise as a cleanser/ moisturiser? I have terrible rosacea and I'm sure it's caused by chemicals in products. I feel like I've tried everything! Can I also ask what you use detergent and household cleaning wise? I'm trying to go Eco once I've used all current chemical products in the house. I do use bicarb and white vinegar for some cleaning x

Congratulations to the new mummies :) lovely photos please keep them coming! X

I'm still feeling ill, think I'll be off to Drs tomorrow as I seem to have a sinus and chest infection.

I could see baby sucking her thumb last night through my bump :) cute but kinda freaky!!
