Sorted! As you described, we just weren't pulling the lever in the right way. All so easy now!

Have now mastered it in both cars (we think) with the 2 types of bases.

No wonder Prince William practised at home (not that I think we will have hundreds of photographers watching us).

We just done ours & that lever is a tricky b*gg*r - took me ages to do it - but I'm feeling quite weak today - DH managed it first time

Might have to have a practise every day until bean arrives - so glad we haven't left it any longer - would have been a nightmare to do in the middle of the hospital car park :rotfl:
  • Afternoon all.

Due date tomorrow , how on earth did that come round soooo quick???

Feel no different though. Hubby is nervous, doesn't wanna go out anywhere particularly far just 'in case', myself on the other hand is going with the approach of get out of the house, do stuff as normal before normal is changed forever.

Have no idea on what to do this afternoon though, seems so silly to stay indoors when the sunshine is out. Sold a few items this morning via fb, easy way of selling things now, tend not to bother selling on ebay anymore. Had hassle with ebay though, bought a cot tidy and it never arrived, seller just chose to ignore my emails so ebay stepped in and issued a refund, still it took 3 weeks to get my money back.

Think I'll take the dog for a walk, never know, baby might make an appearance on my due date, ha....

  • Hi guys sorry to queue jump but my little boy arrived unexpectedly at 37+2 last Sunday. He was 7lb9 so who knows what size he would have been after 3 more weeks! It was a very quick labour - no contractions 20 mins apart just contractions at 2 in the morning a few mins apart. After less than 5 hours I had a lovely waterbirth. I was ringing the birth centre saying I think I'm braxton hicksing cos I thought contractions would be more painful but my waters had broke lol. one hour later I was in major pain!

congratulations to all the new arrivals I've missed and labour vibes to all ready & waiting to meet their little angels xxx

  • yes the birth and labour was quick and only severe pain for the last 2/3 hours. I was lucky to get there in time for a water birth! plus I forget my hospital notes cos of pain and OH had to go back and get them and arrived just in time for the birth. Unfortunately little 'un got high levels of jaundice and has only just got home from hospital yesterday. I wasn't even aware that all babies have some level of jaundice and are at risk of jaundice being serious!

we're thinking either Theodore or Jack. Theodore as a first name and Jack as a middle name sounds good to me but will decide after spending some time getting to know him at home.

OMG I'm catching up on The Midwives and it's scaring the hell out of me!! I've already got one so I know what to expect, but still getting very nervous!

And there's a dad taking pictures of the baby when only it's head is out. I think I'd lamp DH if he tried to do that!!! She's trying to push and he's flashing away!!

She's a bit bonkers mind she was fussing about fake tan and putting on her make up?!?!
