We bought a Cosatto Giggle Treet after seeing it in Toys R Us. It was one of the few travel systems that would fit in the boot of our old Micra! We've got a Maxi-Cosio Cabriofix and base so we haven't got the complete system.

We saw the bad reviews after we'd bought the Treet but they seemed to be from the earlier batches (ours has a recent date) and I can't believe it would still be on the market if it was really that dangerous. A lot of the reviews are by the same people but seem to have been posted in lots of places.

A friend of mine has got a Cosatto Giggle All Star and not had any problems.

Will definitely be keeping an eye on the pushchair and not smacking it against the kerb too heavily though!

Hugs to all those having a tough time - it will all be worth it in the end. I've had a couple of reasonable nights sleep thankfully. It just seems to be pot luck at the moment.

Yesterday we decided to have a trial run of the car seat.

We bought the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix. I then got second hand bases. One is the Easyfix & one the Family Fix.

Problem one was that we couldn't get the leg down on the Family Fix so after pulling it & looking for buttons we gave up. A bit of research later told us it just needed a very strong pull - so we did this & it was done. It's now in my car but we haven't tested it with the car seat it (see below!)

After we gave up on the leg issue we tried the Easyfix. Worked it out & got it fitted on OH's car. Worked out how to get the buttons to be green & clicked in the car seat. Great.

Then tried to get the car seat out. We've watched the Kiddicare youtube tutorial which just shows you lift the grey lever at the back. The seat doesn't shift!

We have tried & tried & can't work out what we are doing wrong (or if it is a problem with the base), but the end result is that we have a seat that we can't get out of the car . Luckily we managed to get to this point without falling out.

So today's job is to go to Halfords/ M'care/ Kiddicare/ Boots to ask for some advice - bit tricky when we didn't buy the base from them (seat is from Boots).

On the travel system discussion, we got the Quinny Buzz 3. Had a demo in Kiddicare but bought online from Bambino Direct as it was cheaper/ free delivery. I later found out about Kiddicare pricematch so would have bought from them if I had known.

    Good luck Welsh!

Re: EPO. I hadn't heard this mentioned from my midwife/antenatal class etc. just tried to read up on it but not clear what health benefits there are when pregnant as it's very conflicting. Also, a lot of women seem to be taking 2x 2000gm orally and 1 vaginally a day. The only report I can find is:
    http://vbacfacts.com/2012/11/13/evening-primrose-oil-dont-use-it-if-you-are-pregnant/
I used RLT with my last pregnancy but it's hard to tell if it worked as my first labour was quick also (3.5hrs and 2hrs) but have started back on the tea this week anyway. Any info would be good. Haven't even looked at arnica yet.... TIA

Update - just read up on arnica; sounds good so will get some for hospital bag. Thanks for the tip!

We have gone with the maxi cosi cabriofix - with the easy fix base for my car (won't use OH car till later on as mine is better!)

I will let you know how I get on with putting it in car today - I hope you get the probs sorted

Hoping that our trial run goes smoothly! :o

  • @TTC40 I have that base and car seat, it is just a bit awkward, you have to pull the grey lever at the back up and then towards the front of the car, it's dead awkward to get the hang off.

Hard to believe our little guy is over 4 weeks old, time has really flown, we are still struggling to get a bit of a routine going but we seem to be getting there!

Good luck with the induction welshcomic and congrats on the birth announcements I missed

    How are you scarlet?

Loads of reports of the plastic that attaches the front wheels to the pram snapping and the pram collapsing. I really wanted the treet design.

Achy and fat :p lol I'm ok thanks counting down finishing work as finding it all a bit much. How are you feeling? X

Hopelass calcium is on the supplements list on here, I think it's meant to help with labour pains. I took is last time not entirely sure if it helped but I'm willing to try again!

I'm not sure whether anything helped last time but it's worth a try! I'm certain arnica helped with healing though so I'm definatly taking that again.

Baby show next weekend :) I'm really not sure how much money to take with me, anyone else been/ going? X

Also can't decide whether to take my son, he'll probably enjoy it but will get tired, might take the pushchair seems odd as he's so big now but it would be easier than carrying him!

    Good luck Welsh! Xx

Hope you sort the car seat TT40, prams/ car seats take some working out but once baby is here you'll be a pro!

Hope you get the car seat debacle sorted ttc40

Anyone else got/had really bad pregnancy congestion? It seems to be ganging up with my allergies to make my sinuses sore and me heave and generally feel pants. I did definitely feel a bit better in Spain a couple of welles ago, but it still followed me there, so I know it's not just extreme sensitivity to my allergies (dogs/pollen/etc).

I feel like I've been tossing and turning all night (not easy once you've started expanding either ;)). My back's sore now and I woke up cold, with my legs wrapped around the quilt rather than under it. Got a sore throat, but hoping I just need to drink more fluids.

We started off this pregnancy assuming that other than gifts at birth/Christmas (edd 8th Jan) we'd be buying everything... Then Dh's aunt bought our travel system (great!) and my mum started moaning there was 'nothing fun left to buy'?? So I gave/suggested to her a list of things I thought she'd consider 'fun' (moses basket/play gym/bouncer/play pen) and she gave me a vague 'yes we'll get something, we'll go shopping with you' type answer (they live 2+ hrs away) while telling me I didn't need it all straight away cos I wouldn't be able to take it back if I got more from others?? I agree I don't need it all straight away (though if I've picked out the one I like I'm not sure why I'd take that back rather than the gifts?), but told her the only thing I was bothered about sorting pre birth (so by, say, december) was the moses basket - again vague verbal nods.

Fast-forward a couple of weeks and after moving things round in our spare rooms to make one a dedicated room for baby, we've discovered our furniture has become rather worse for wear, so we think we'd like to replace it. Happened to mention this to mum, to make her feel more included, and she suggests that maybe they should get that for us...?

Now don't get me wrong, I'm grateful she wants to dote on us/the impending grandchild, but I don't really know if I'm coming or going... We were just gonna head out to (for eg) the Swedish place one day, pick up our furniture and get going with it. Do I now have to wait til they come up to visit, go there with them, etc and do it to their availability? Do I just get on with it and face the wrath of the 'shunned grandmother' guilt trip? Will they be buying this and the moses basket? What's going on?!

With the travel system, we picked it, dh's aunt offered to buy it, told us when she'd give us the money, we ordered it and then she handed over the cash. Simple. Why can't everything be simple? :o:p

Sorted! As you described, we just weren't pulling the lever in the right way. All so easy now!

Have now mastered it in both cars (we think) with the 2 types of bases.

No wonder Prince William practised at home (not that I think we will have hundreds of photographers watching us).

I've just got all the clothes my sister put away out of my parents roof space, I've filled my car! I need to go through it all and most is blue, although I have no problem with blue on a girl anyway. There's clothes all the way up to 2yrs+ :) is anyone else not bothered about blue on girls?
I also have the Moses basket base but can't fit the basket in, so I'll grab that next time :) there's one more box of clothes upstairs but that'll have to wait until next time.
Off baby shopping with my mum in a minute :) going to treat her to coffee and cake at Th0rnt0ns mmmm

Labour vibes to welsh and any others today x
