  • butler-Helen any news????

jessi good luck... U are much closer than me to meeting ur little one!!!

    Well still no baby!!!

Bored now... Just joined the library and got some baby name books but don't hold out much hope as my name is not in them!!!

I am glad OH is busy with work and sorting out other house to rent.... His current phase is cracking jokes about my sweep next week... Doing my head in... Said he is not coming next week and he took that the wrong way!!!

Might cover some pillows and make a cot bumper this afternoon as still have material left over from curtains!!!

Sleeping is becoming a pain... My hips are killing... So I am turning over by pulling myself over with the bars on the headboard every hour!!!

I think animals definitely know, especially dogs.

If they are training dogs to sniff out cancer using just a urine sample I'm sure they would be able to detect the hormonal changes in a pregnant woman. Cats can probably smell something is different but I don't think cats are intelligent enough to sense what it actually is.

My cats do try to settle on bump but not sure if that's just cause its convenient. Will be interested to see what they make of baby, when DS was born I remember them cautiously sniffing him and then running off!
  • My cat didn't give a stuff - would have only been interested if I was gestating tinned tuna to be honest. My greyhound - utter indifference again (such care and sympathy and devotion in this house from the pets)... soppy Heinz 57 dog - lay his head on my bump once affectionately... bump kicked him in the head - he ran away in terror!
Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!

  • lippy thanks for that just ordered one!!!

Just had a phone call off my mum... She has shingles, so has to keep away for 10 days!!!

Timing not the best... At least don't have to worry she will turn up at the hospital, she is an hour away anyway!!!

Just gutted she won't get to see her first grand child for a while, she is gutted as well!!!

Should a tell bean to stay in a little longer???
  • o gosh Welsh I hope your mum is ok, but what awful timing xx

Keep checking the boots website for the Avent steriliser that you could get for £10, just keep missing stock! Really hope its back in stock before the offer runs out. I have got a Avent microwave steriliser but I am so tempted by the electric for £4 more...

There was me weeks ago posting asking if it was too early to decorate the baby's room, I am 30 weeks next week and I haven't even started yet!! So this weekends job is to search for some cheap plastic containers to put larger unisex clothes into, get DH to put into loft then hopefully the room will be emptier and I can start sorting what clothes I will need for baby/ put wall stickers up/ etc.

  • Just back from catching up with the other 3 ladies from antenatal class and as daft as it sounds the only thing on my mind is that I am the poorest out of them all......how stupid is that.

They're lovely ladies and we all caught up as two of the ladies have 3 and 4 week old baby boy's and myself and the other obviously are yet to have our babies.

I had a fab time chatting away and getting tips and holding each baby. But when it came time to leave all I could think about was how nice this ladies house was and thinking I bet the other 2 ladies have nice houses as well and here I am in a ground floor 2 bedroom flat.

I then noticed that my car is the oldest (02 reg) and was the only one that cannot have isofix in my car. Panic set in about having to explain that I cannot have them round to my place as no way will we all have enough space in my living room to accommodate 4 adults & 4 babies with all the stuff that babies need when you go out.

I know people make do with the space they have and to be honest its the thought we went with as we had an 'ideal' plan of wanting a house and then a family but realised at 29 & 30 we could loose our chance of having a family as it's just something you don't have control over (if that makes sense).

But I've come home in a mood, just wanting to get out of this flat, even a 2 bed house with be better as then the space is spread out more. I don't want to loose contact with the ladies as we all get along really well and it's great knowing/building friendships but can't help worrying they'll judge me. Oh I'm being soooo stupid I know, humph.....lol

    Hugs continualdiamond :grouphug::grouphug:

I feel like that with some of my friends... But remember you have a little one on the way and you have so much love to give them, along with a loving other half, that means a lot more than money!!!!

Plans are great... I wanted to be married before getting pregnant, but I live with a commitment phobe!!! It was the same with getting pregnant... If you waited for the right time... It would never come!!! You can always move in the future.... But the important thing is ur precious bundle will be here with you!!!

With regards to the discussion on coke... I was a big coffee drinker before I was pregnant and I find a can of coke in the afternoon gives me kick I need to stop falling asleep!!! As long as follow the advice on caffeine you will be fine!!!

Sorry you're feeling a bit meh continualdiamond, but you can never tell a persons financial situation just from looking at them. The cars might be HP, the house might be on a ridiculous rate interest mortgage or they might rent it so not actually owning it anyway. They might have credit cards maxed out and living outside their means.

I wouldn't worry about inviting them to your flat, if you think it's going to be too small then just ask them to go to a coffee shop for your morning, or a walk in the park or something similar :) We have just moved from a 2bed flat to a 3bed house, yet we can't have anyone come over as we don't have a sofa :D

I've just found out the pushchair we want is going to be at the baby show :D that's the pushchair, car seat and nappies so we're definitely going. If anyone is Bristol based, wanting to go and would like to share a lift then just drop me a PM :)
