  • Hi ladies, hope everyones is ok.

    Congratulations justonemore... Beautiful name :)

That takes me to third on the list, due date tuesday, and i'll b going in on tuesday for a c-section if i havent gone into labour before. I could possibly have the next birth :-/

Our hospital in s.wales provides milk, and phone chargers r fine to take.not sure about hair straighteners, but also not sure i care to much while im there. I plan on trying my best to breast feed, but have bought a tub of aptamil just incase.

Got a really bad back this evening, but i'm dragging dh out on a long walk (kill or cure is what i'm thinking!) plus the dog isnt arguing!x

Thanks chick. I ended up using a warm hot water bottle last night. I can pretty much sit all day if I need to. Do you go on maternity leave same day as me? I think you've already told me but I've forgotten. I will leave on 25th October, but maternity leave will start on 4 November.

Try to take some me time, have a bath, read a book etc.

We toured the midwife led unit attached to our hospital and I want to go there if I am discharged from the consultant next week. It's so lovely but has been closed for the last two weeks due to staff holiday :o

Congrats just one more and welcome optimistic! X

My last day of work is 1st November, then I take 2 weeks holiday and my ML commences on 15th (I think!) I'd love to finish sooner but I want to maximise my time off once baby is here. Good luck with being discharged from the MW. I'm viewing another hospital soon, I've got to decide where I am going fairly soon though apparently! X

My bump has grown again. I'm struggling to find clothes to fit!

Just heard from a pregnant friend at work that they have refused her working any days from home when she gets back- she's currently about 22 weeks. Isn't that a bit soon to reject a request or is that standard procedure? Just wondering as I was hoping to work 2 days from home with bubs in nursery and 1 day in the office with baby with grandparents. The funny part is when mat pay was raised years back (only get SMP) they said not possible as we're a charity but they pride themselves on flexible working arrangements on return to work! Feeling cross :(

I personally think it's early. I suppose it depends when she was planning to return to work but because I'm taking a year work won't even go near a definite answer as business needs could change in that time. Not that I'm asking..quite sure I'll return full time anyway which they are usually pretty happy with even if it means condensing hours.

I've known many people have part time hours turned down though which is pretty cack.

Feeling pretty fed up this evening. Not sure totally why but partly I have put down to do a mystery shop for a supermarket which meant doing an online grocery shop with £25 paid towards food. That's a good saving for us for very little effort but OH is tired and won't tell me what he wants so I can't do it and worried I'll lose my slot! Why do I bother!

Have a good weekend everybody xx

Ooh exciting! I'm starting to struggle a bit. Glad I'm on 'light' duties! Been to see doc today who tells me I've pulled a muscle in my back. It feels marginally better today. It was excruciating last night. X

I have to say straightening m hair was the last thing on my mind for a good few weeks after having DS and I am certainly not worried about whether or not I can take the straighteners (or a hair dryer for that matter!) into the hospital :rotfl:

I admire everyone who wants to do labour with as little drugs as possible but its definitely not for me! I had gas and air and then pethadine with DS and will probably have at least that again this time! For what its worth for those that are worried, pethadine was fine for me and didn't make DS drowsy (I know they have to warn you it could happen).

My section is booked for Tuesday too :) been for my preop today apparently I'm booked in to go to theatre first so at least wont be waiting round all day. I have to say though I am terrified :( I had a bit of a melt down earlier started with just feeling upset ended up with me sobbing :( I've never had an operation before I think this and being hormonal just made me a mess. I've calmed down now but I have a headache now from crying.

I'm so tired too :( xxxx

  • Evening all.

Had a very nice day today. My health visitor came around and thankfully she is lovely. It was all about form filling today and introducing herself, in my area they like to do an appt before baby arrives as otherwise the visit they do when baby is 10-14 days old can take like 2 hrs.

So they get this form filling part out of the way, the appt this morning did take just over an hr anyway. I expected health q's etc, but did find it odd that they asked if I liked living where I do and how many pets do I have etc.

Then this afternoon I did my bump photo shoot that I won. That was fantastic, can't beat having your hair and make up done, especially with having my hair all curled and false eyelashes put on. I took along some props, a teddy bear, red flower, baby booties, baby hat, two scan photos and a little red sign that said 'love' that I have on a shelf next to our wedding photo.

Wore a blue dress with leggings and then jeans with a purple top. Photographer was great, I went with all her suggestions. Now just to wait to see what they look like.

This will be my last bit of pampering before baby arrives so when I got home I took plenty of self portrait photos on my phone, hahaha.

    Hope everyone is well.
