20 more working days (4wks!) then 3wks leave and maternity starts day after I'm due. Can't wait - I'm exhausted! Still no cover for me yet though and I'm worrying as I am the only one that does my job and I have a set of spreadsheets that will blow someone's mind lol. People keep telling me its not my problem but I do plan on coming back to work and don't want to have to fix someone's mess.

Same here! It is driving me mad that my work is so disorganised. I am trying to leave really detailed handover notes for the poor person who will just be chucked into it when they finally realise I am not coming back for a year!

We did get our new house keys yesterday! So exciting. I can't wait to get it all sorted before the baby arrives :D

Omg I'm 30 weeks tomorrow. Where did that come from?!?

I bought a bottle of red wine the other day to cook some beef in and felt awful being in the wine section, felt like people were staring (which they probably wernt)

Had my whooping cough jab on Thursday, my arm has only just stopped aching, felt like I had done a major workout in the gym. Not had any injections since the ones at school, about 15 or so years ago.

Congrats to all the new little ones, and to all the newbies.
And happy labour vibes to all the boldies xxx

    Morning all,

Well I suppose I can officially join this thread now, 24 weeks today:j Still feel like maybe the other thread should go to 28 weeks....I am still a very long way from giving birth!

Been feeling okay since scan on Tuesday but had a little wobble last night :( For every day that I think it might all be okay I have 2 that just worry me.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend and good luck to those delivering on Tuesday.

Glad I'm not the only one, I'm a day behind you and haven't made a start yet either. Think I've bought everything I need, just need to pack it all!
  • morning all,

welcome the new joiners and congrats on all the new babies. Ive been trying to keep up but its not been too easy while moving! thankfully now all moved, just some unpacking to do and then get the nursery furniture set up. feels god to have internet again other than on my phone screen!

starting to get a bit of ankle swelling at night now (ugh) but i count myself very lucky that its only started in the last week, and i havnt had any swelling round my hands so i can still comfortably wear my wedding ring so far (no doubt that'll change)

  • It's really weird seeing how different NHS trusts vary on what is and isn't supplied, or allowed. We are fine to take in own wipes, but are not allowed chargers in as they haven't been PAT (safety) checked and they don't want us using NHS electricity! We're not allowed hair straighteners for the same reason (but there's a hair dryer on the ward we can borrow!). Honestly, if I'm in long enough to worry about charging my phone/ iPod/needing my straighteners, I think I'll go crazy anyway, I want in and out ASAP!

Had midwife appointment on Tuesday, everything fine except my iron count is a bit low, but not enough to need tablets. Not been eating as well as i maybe should, so back on the healthy eating now. Baby is only 2/5ths engaged, which means I'm prob in for a lot more pelvic pain before she's comes! Also booked in for another appointment the day before my due date (2 weeks!), so I don't think bean will be arriving anytime soon :(

    38 weeks

I've been in both hospitals in our NHS trust. In one I was going insane (I was in for a fortnight with my eldest as she was prem) and asked if it was ok if I brought my laptop and some DVDs in since the bedside telly hardly worked on any decent channels and cost a bomb - one of the staff said she'd done exactly the same and even put her online shopping through to arrive when she knew she was going to be discharged.

Other one technically have a no electricals policy - however they turn a blind eye to things like phone chargers as a part of the world these days - especially if you're in for longer than a few hours.

  • Last day at work yesterday - thoroughly spoilt with bunch flowers, hand knitted cardis etc & £95 of mama & papas vouchers!

Can't believe I have no more work for about 10 months!

Started washing baby stuff today - then I can pack hospital bag properly!

Starting to dawn on me that I will have a baby that will depend on me within the next 4 weeks!
