B2B, I had a day like that yesterday but paying for it today :( was good to get a load of stuff done though!

PP thats exactly the sort of things she was saying, I will have 17 months between my youngest two, and he has been walking since 9 months but he is still little they want mummy cuddles! Would be nice to have someone do everything for me, not that they would do it right so I would redo anyway :rotfl::rotfl:

Ha ha Claree, I won't forget! Use it for everything possible!:D

I was the same.. my sister came and vacuumed.. and after she left I redid it.. it's just not the same!! I find sweeping the kitchen most difficult and cannot lift a wash basket outside so boss OH to do that but the thought of him hanging out washing makes me hyperventilate.. Lifting children into cots is not fun.. Squeak is not yet 3 and in age 5-6 clothes and she weighs about 2.5 stone and it nearly kills me lifting her but she is only 2 (3 in August) so her needs are not that of a 5 year old. Dot is just under 2 stone but not 2 until September so again needs a lot of lifting and carrying.. then there are school runs and hospital appointments and my 10 and 8 year olds physio sessions .. lifting pans of food is a pain, literally, too.. How could I not do any of this? It is just not practical. I also have to take most of the weight of the 8 and 10 y/o's as they get in and out of the bath due to physical problems they have there simply is no one else to do this.. OH is not their dad so neither he nor the girls would be comfortable with him doing it so we struggle on... it isn't forever is it, so I can put up with it on the whole.

I smile and nod and look at them like they are a bit daft .. they usually follow it up with 'but that isn't going to happen is it?' ..

I only had the GTT as I am at higher risk due to my ethnic origin. It seems that in my area people only have it if there's a reason rather than it being for everyone which seems a bit pointless.

Still trying to get everything sorted in my new house, but its so difficult to do much as I seem to be sleeping almost constantly! Don't know why I'm so tired :(

Well im glad its not just me PP, DH always does as much as he can but he works so he cant do everything all the time, just easier to get on with things, i will do my best to follow some of her 'rules' but they must realize that unfortunately even with the best intentions most of it just isn't practical. DS has gone into a bed so that's a little easier than the cot except he can now escape and try and climb his baby gate!
Hopefully only a few more weeks and it will start to get a little better!!

NoAngel, could it be low iron? Ive been shattered now put on iron tabs, umm yummy!

feeling tired today :( loving the sun being our though :)

MW apt tomorrow for possible stretch and sweep - feeling nervous about it, anyone with experience of having one before being overdue? I will be 39+2, I've heard it can be worse before 40 weeks?

Also, (really girly of me) but what should I wear to the apt?
New first time mummy to a gorgeous little boy!

Blimey PP I feel shattered just reading this!

I had a good chat with the MW today, mainly because I was there so long. Claree_xx we are very similar, they tried three times in my arms before taking blood from my hand. I just wasn't giving it up today.

I wasn't given syrup or a lucozade, I was asked to eat 5 things from a list 2hrs before bloods were taken. I had, 1 slice bread, 500ml milk and 2 kiwis (milk counts as two). Not too bad - the aim was 75g if carbs. However I could not have water and so my veins sunk deep into my body.

She said it was up to me if I want a c-section or natural birth but today baby was side ways! So she thinks I've just been unlucky with the number of times it's been "caught" in breech position. I like this midwife :D

Not sure who asked but I would get a new mattress. I thought you needed a new mattress for every child, as they breath bug into them - but that now sounds like old tosh.

I'm having a stressful day, work paid me wrong and didn't pay my smp as a lump sum and now im stuck with no money chasing them. Lucky I start a new job on Monday but once on mat leave I won't get paid and I will have nothing as I can't get maternity allowance as I'm entitled to smp... Which hasn't been paid. ARGH and the HR number is an 0808 number so costs a lot from my mobile.
If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!

I think they do know it isn't always practical but have to say it anyway.. just be sensible and don't do the stuff that tweaks and pulls. Shopping trolleys are THE worst thing in the world.. especially the ones that want to go in any direction but where you want to go!

Squeak should probably be in a bed but she loves her cot still so she can stay in it a bit longer. Plus she would never be in it, she'd end up asleep on the floor or wherever she found that she could.

Angel.. I had a couple of weeks where I was exhausted constantly.. I think it is just when smallfry are doing a growth spurt and zapping all your energy.

Hello ladies, I'm going to join you - I'm 26 weeks on Friday and getting big now. I dread to think how big I will be by the end, I think I was not much bigger than this at the end of my previous pregnancy. Finished work early for mat leave so I've been off since this week (officially off sick as mat leave doesn't start yet) which is great to have a decent amount of time off before baby comes and have some quality time with my little boy whilst it's still just us. I've been feeling really really tired lately but apparantly that is normal! Started taking iron supplements as last preg I got anaemic. The doctor said to try floradix as its much better than iron tablets (although you can't get it on prescription) hope it works as I can't continue with this level of exhaustion, not with a two year old to run around after.

This is my second baby and will be a girl, due Oct 4th but having an elective section the week before due to pre-existing diabetes. Will update the due date list when I get a chance.

Hello everyone! I haven't been posting for ages but have been keeping up with all of you. Congrats to Dida & MrsJ! :) I noticed a couple of u were asking after me while I was AWOL. Thank u! Very sweet of u to notice i was missing :)

    Huge post coming up! :)

I find it really sad that pigpen has received treatment that has made her lose confidence in caregivers. I just wanted to share what a positive experience I have had so far as another side to the coin:

In our area, our community midwives have supported and informed us well at every stage. In antenatal classes we were all strongly encouraged to try for as little intervention as possible and she made us and our partners feel empowered to ask for what we want. She showed us all the medical implements that might be used if we do need intervention and explained exactly why we might need to take that route so they wouldn't seem so scary. She made us aware that sweeps aren't always a good idea and gave us info in order to make an informed decision and talked us through the pros and cons of having an induction.

I am rhesus negative and as such was provided with info on Anti-D which I have had as there's no way I'd like to risk my next baby developing rhesus disease. They also talked us through whooping cough and I did my own research into it before deciding it was the right thing for me. I consider myself to be an intelligent woman and have in no way blindly done as I was told. I have always asked questions and done my own research. I have been to all of my appointments, again not following blindly, but because I appreciated the opportunity to talk to the midwives and be reassured of baby's and my wellbeing. I have also had all my blood test because with my blood type and seeing my sister suffer with anemia during pregnancy. I felt it was right for me to take the tests offered to me.

My hubby and I feel confident asking questions at the birth re. intervention. Is it 100% necessary? Are me or the baby in immediate danger? Can you leave us for half an hr while we decide etc. And this is due to the advice given by the midwife.

Again, I think pigpens treatment has been unforgivable and can absolutely understand the distrust, but I just felt I should add my perspective to help give a bit of balance and to say that I have done my research and come to different conclusions on what treatment to accept. You can always find just as many arguments for as against if you look hard enough. Trust your own common sense. What is right for others may not be right for u. Good bit of advice from antenatal class - Make sure ur birth partner feels prepared and strong enough to advocate for you at the birth and no one can 'make you' do anything.

I think someone asked about anti-D on the last thread. U only need it if u are a negative blood type - they would have told u early on if u needed it.

I am a firm believer in positive thinking. I'm not saying it can influence what happens with ur birth, but it will certainly influence ur attitude towards it and how u deal with what comes ur way. We can do it :rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a good day!
